Jose Aldo is no joke....His punches, knees and kicks to the body are like sledge hammers. You will get hurt quick. After playing this game most of the day, I can say the following:

1. Some fighters they got the AI correct 100%

2. Some fighters they got 70% correct

3. Other fighters they got 10% correct to the point you left saying WTF is he doing ?

4. So far I had some good 4 round brawls, had some some 1 round I didn't know they he could hit that hard KOs.

I have yet to have a decision against the CPU though. They really need to tone down the AI aggression level. I also believe a lot of fighters are ranked too high in submission defense and offense. Then there are those whose stand up is too high.

I also believe the take down defense is a tad bit too good for the CPU in the later rounds. I bypassed the career mode and simply bought Gracie and already had the Bruce Lee code. I might try the career mode when I'm extremely bored. For now the exhibition fights are fun enough to keep me occupied.

Overall I would give this game a 6 out of 10.

Reasons being:

1. Some head scratcher AI by some of the fighters

2. Don't like the fact everybody can do every basic move EQUALLY. Everybody shouldn't have the same type of take downs and slams. Everybody shouldn't be able to do reversals and sweeps with ease either.

3. I don't know if it is a bug or what, but the CPU can hold you in a clinch for way too long, regardless of who it is and who you are fighting with. I have had fights where I get stuck in the clinch for a minute and a half. And it just isn't with the thai clinch either, even the over and under hooks the CPU will just hold you and you can't get out of it for a while no matter how many times you press the L3 button.

4. No standing submissions

5. Sluggish controls at a times and some times the wrong strike comes out. There are times I press the buttons to do elbow strikes on the ground from side control or half guard and very weak punches come out instead. Even when you do posture up.

6. I find the CPU don't do ground and pound enough. They just seem happy to sit in full mount.

7. Reversals out of side control and full mount need to go.

8. The stamina issue for the CPU

9. No leg kick TKO

With that said, it is a good base, but with 2 years to work on it, I just expected way more. Fun game though, but with this generation of consoles and all it's horsepower, we need to move way BEYOND just fun. Need to nail it and knock it out of the park. Especially if you expect people to hold on to it for 2 years until the next one comes out.

Do knockdowns even matter???? I've lost my last two fights even thought I knocked my opponent down and they didn't. He had 6 more significant strikes and 4 more takedowns. Is that enough to win? Brown belt is kicking my ***.

I believe take downs matter more then knock downs. But anyway, I was facing Alexis Davis and I was Ronda. I thought oh this will be an easy fight, I will just take her down and submit her. That chick made me tap to a twister. Had my world all messed up because I had no idea what was going on.

This game is begging for a Prima Strategy Guide. How are you going to have that many fighters in the game, with some of them not even household names and not sell a strategy guide that breaks down all the figher's strengths and weaknesses.

That is one thing I loved about the 3 THQ UFC games, each one had a strategy guide.

I'd say about 45 were "defended" while the rest he whiffed. Cruz' mobility contributed to that though.

That should be the first priority in online play.

They punish quitters, quitters recieve a loss but you don't recieve a win, I got a loss and a DNF when EA's servers dropped on me mid fight, but I never got a win when multiple spamming scrubs gouldn't get up from my mount, and quit.

In the fighter select screen in offline fights, there is a way to see all their attributes, and perks.

I will give you a legit answer, Scoring is similar to boxing, Winner gets 10 for the round, loser gets 9 or less. Scoring is based on effective striking, Effective Grappling, and ring Generalship. If you want the fight on the ground, can get it there, and keep it there, that is being a ring general, same, with wanting to keep a fight standing and successfully doing so. Different judges may favor grappling, others may favor striking, and some are just flat out morons, Best to finish if you can instead of depending on the judges to score a victory for you.

This is why i like to play offline as the people I played today are more agressive than the ai in the demo.
Today almost all of my online games start on the left side, just what I wanted. It's weird that i have 7 straight first time online games where i started on the right side.

I got 1 dude quit on me when i do a submission and win the game...then it got disconnected right away just as i am about to win and on the menu...it shows no win for me...nothing changed. EA should realize that when it is disconnected, you should punish the guy whose connection lost (intentional or not doesn't matter) and not the guy who is still having great connection. I think NBA2K game did a good job of punished the guy who got disconnected.

In one of the games, i have a significant strike of 150%...that was a glitch i think. It's like 2/3 Significant strike, but 150%.

I hate using the right stick ground and grapple moves.

# 196 Hiro1 @ 06/19/14 03:34 AM
Once you get to Brown belt online just quit and go on with your life. Guys are no joke. I find it funny people are complaining about quitters online I have 90ish fights and only one guy has quit. Then again it could be my playing style.

# 197 ClassActFan @ 06/19/14 04:07 AM
I'm 1-5 online right now. Started 0-5. Heh. Is the matchmaking supposed to match you up with somebody in your rank, a la -- for me right now -- white belt? I'm guessing that's the case? (Judging by Hiro's post above.)

Outside of the first fight, I had a chance to win the other four I lost but failed to capitalize in the pivotal moments.

# 198 Mr. Miyagi @ 06/19/14 04:40 AM
Hiro. I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with the brown.

Watching my roommate play on his One kind of makes me want to get it for PS4, but I don't enjoy the career much anymore. I may just play against him sometime.

I understand the game is supposed to be way farther towards the arcade end of the spectrum than sim, but they need to tone down the amount of damage you can suffer.

I don't want a game where you take one clean shot and you're knocked down, but you can take about 10-15 clean shots in this game and just keep on going. They need to find a happy medium. I played a match earlier today where I was in the clinch and kneed my opponent in the head 15 times in a row(while keeping my stamina up) before he went down. Thats just ridiculous.

Also, I don't know about the PS4 version, but the XB1 drops frames constantly. When you play online and add in potential lag, its gets ugly.
