MLB 14 The Show News Post

MLB 14 The Show will be available as a Day 1 digital download at 12:01 AM EST on May 6th. (SEE UPDATES BELOW) Similar to how users were able to download the PS3 version, expect it to be available at that time, give or take a few minutes.

It doesn't appear as though you will be able to pre-download, as some hoped with the latest PlayStation update. VG24/7 noted Watch Dogs will be the first game available for pre-download, releasing on May 27th.

UPDATE: As of 10:30 AM EST, the game is still not available to download.

UPDATE #2: Due to unforeseen technical issues, MLB 14 The Show for PS4 is not currently available for download via the PlayStation Store. All parties are working as quickly as possible to remedy the issue. We’ll update this post as soon as a resolution is reached. Thank you for your continued patience.

UPDATE #3: Based off of the many responses, the download should be available for everyone now.

It a shame that you will take this route as I can tell by your reaction that you are probably a huge baseball fan and the only game in town is on the PS4. Its not like you have a choice.
It really isn't a question of patience at this point. I've been on the phone trying to get a refund issued for over 3 hours. I'm not upset about the delay. These things happen, I get that. I'm upset and frustrated with Sony's support, or lack thereof. I purchased a hard copy because I was told I would be issued a refund, only the call got disconnected after 1 and half hours. When I called back, disconnected again. I'm now on hold for 1 hour and 8 minutes waiting to speak to another supervisor. The 1st rep I spoke with could have updated my account reflecting our conversation and the authorization to refund my $$, however he didn't do that, so now I'm in the same situation again. The reps are rude and obnoxious, despite my attempts to be polite and professional with them.

And now after waiting over 40 minutes to contact chat support, I was just met with a message stating: "We are sorry, there are not reps available for chat at the moment"

Unbelievable.

Finally got through to a supervisor and within 30 seconds, had an email sent for full refund back to my cc card. Why that was so difficult was beyond me.

The file took less than a minute to install on my ps4 (good internet), so i guess it all worked out.
Good internet has nothing to do with installing a game...

1 and 3 are totally untrue... do you know what you're talking about at all?

Dont open your mouth when you dont know what you are talking about. You can re download the game as many times as you want. 5 dollars cheaper to go digital. Unless you trade the sports game in within 6 months you are lucky to get that at times. Especially from gamestop.

3 is somewhat true since you have to re-download the entire game on the other console once you sign in.

Why not, you have been opening your mouth for 130+ pages and it's obvious you haven't a clue what you are talking about.

Really? I imagine a bunch of suits sitting in a dark room right now, trying to think of creative ways to screw their customers.
If you do a charge back they will probably ban your account.

You'd also have to install the contents of a disc version, which may not take as long but is a similar process.

I'm actually kind of curious now what $1 billion in printed monopoly money would cost to buy/make.

Rather than get bent out of shape and freak out I did what any mature person would. I called Sony, lines were busy. Called Capital One, they called Sony for me and I received a refund. Just got home from Wal Mart and the game is installing now. Capital One is amazing.

In standard editions of monopoly there is $15,140. Cheapest i see the game for is 10 bucks. I think my math is wrong on this but i got $660,500.

That has to be wrong......

Well maybe not. You would have to buy it 66,051 times to get over 1 billion in monopoly money.

Ditto, but I used the live chat pretty early. Got my refund (in process), picked up my copy from Best Buy during lunch. Wasn't greedy, just wanted money back to my PSN wallet. I know I'll buy something digitally eventually (just not day 1). After work, I'll let it install while I make dinner. Wife has plans this evening (just a coincidence! really!) so I'll have a few hours I don't normally have to play the game.

Yea, but if you often go to the same friend's house, once it's downloaded the first time you're good. I've done this on Xbone with a couple different games at a friend's house I visit often.
