R.B.I. Baseball 14 News Post

At the end of the day, R.B.I. Baseball 14 is pretty much exactly what we thought it would be. A report filed by Polygon says the game will be the fast-paced baseball game from your childhood with two button controls.

Quote:
"It's going to be very true to the roots of the brand, of R.B.I. Baseball," said Jamie Leece, vice president of games for MLB Advanced Media, in a phone interview with Polygon earlier this week. "It will be fast-paced; games can be played in under 20 minutes. From a user control standpoint, fans will find the controls to be 'classic,' reminiscent of the two-button controls from games of that generation."

MLB also commented that players will behave as they do in real life, with real-life data being the basis for attributes and player behavior within the game. The game will feature a season mode, an exhibition mode, and a playoff mode. No cost information was revealed, but it was revealed the game will be a digital release on PS3/4, Xbox 360/One, and mobile platforms.

R.B.I. Baseball 14 will release on the PS3/Xbox 360 initially (reported to be April 10), with the next-gen consoles release following that. You can see more screens of the game here.

What do you think? Is R.B.I. Baseball 14 what you expected? Are you going to buy?

Buy yourself a ps3 or ps4. Don't see how you can blame Microsoft for this?

That doesn't make something not arcade, just marketing and semantics. It is a 2-button arcade baseball game.

I wanted either online play or a good GM mode. This has neither. So disappointing.

Some if you guys talking about gameplay..... Have any of you played an old 8 bit RBI baseball game? It is what it is. My opinion RBI was the best baseball game next to Baseball stars on the old NES.

If this game plays anything like Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball on SNES, I'm in. I hope it even has 8-bit music flowing in the background of the whole game. Damn, those were good times!

That cover shot is quite hilarious, though. I'm trying to determine who any of those players are. I'll take a guess that the Dodgers player is Puig, but I really have no idea.

I have to see this game in motion. Too bad it's not coming out for Vita. That would be just the ticket!

I'm excited. The Show is way too difficult and way too complicated for me to give any amount of time to.

Hope it plays well on my phone.

The use of MLB Advanced Stats will make the game more sim "under the hood" however than most "arcade" games.

This is a sad day for Xbox owners I just can't understand that the richest man in the world owns
a company that can't provide a descent baseball game for its own console.. Unreal!!!

As I said in the other thread, if this give me half the fun I had with it in the mid early to mid 90's and it's under 20 bucks, I'm in.

I had a lot of fun with this game.

Those player faces make High Heats look pristine! Looks like they did face scans with a crayon.

Looks like I'll be trying to convince my wife to agree a PS4 would look great next to my XB1

We'll settle this on the field!

I'll pass because The Show is more my type of game and I'd rather not spend time on RBI, when I could be advancing my Franchise in The Show.

Well if your stick skills are reminiscent to those in Battlefield 4 - it won't be an issue.
