MLB 14 The Show News Post

There's a lot to digest folks, so here's my first article for MLB 14 The Show this year. Included is over 1,300 words, a video interview with Ramone Russell, Release Dates, and the new PS3 trailer.

I had hands-on with PS3 and (briefly) PS4, with additional time on both with Ramone. The Vita version was not onsite, but in terms of features, beside the smaller amount of Presentation (as always on Vita) the game is feature-complete across all 3 platforms.

Don't think visual. To me the editor is about players....not images. (sorry )

Maybe editable service time or contracts? Either one (or both) would be great.

Curious.
IGN is wrong

Thanks for the article! Definitely picking up both versions -- looks like I'll be grabbing a PS4 in May and making the transition.

This is true. But, if you're choosing quick counts, that's what you're asking for.

What's random is 1 strike or two, and 1-3 balls. It's also affected by REAL DATA concerning an above average hitter or pitcher. or below average as well.

I think it's awesome that they added ball and bat boys/girls and for Giant's fans...ball dudes. The screenshot of MadBum where you can see the bullpen, the ball boy looks like a "dude" to me.

And the crowd catching the ball is awesome as well.

Foul balls just bouncing around always looked unnatural and threw things off a bit. I'm glad that has been added.

Excited to see what else is in store.

Here is a tidbit : For our Canadian fans, you’ll be glad to know Toronto Blue Jays third baseman and Canada’s own Brett Lawrie will be on the Canadian cover for MLB 14. Go check out the PlayStation Canada Facebook page for more details.

Surprisingly, nobody has the same question I do. You are all fine paying full price for both games? (If that's what you're doing.)

Feature complete across all platforms...

That tells me that Sounds of the Show is still intact for PS4...right? I guess there could still be the questions of whether or not it will support MP3s, whether or not we can transfer MP3s to our PS4s, or if we'll have to use Sony's music service (whatever it's called).

I still dont get the half a season thing. Baseball doesn't open until April 1st. You are possibly 4-8 weeks away on release. There is still 4 regular season months left in the season. That is less than half a season.

The game does not disappear after the season. Tons of time for playing in the off season.

Since when is 2 months a half season of baseball? And that is assuming it is late may. quit trolling.

Before you said it wasn't visual, I was going to guess the player now appears in his team's uniform, not the generic one. Distant second was home/away equipment options, but that seems less likely to me. But both seem "visual" to me.

Anyway, I'm not too bummed about the May release thanks to the silver lining of cross-platform rosters. The wait for OSFM always made the first month to six weeks after release a bit of a dead zone for me. Being able to more or less jump into a franchise soon after release would be a nice change pace.

The option to speed the game up is great, but it will remove events that happen in actual MLB games. Mainly putting the first ptch of an at bat in play. Its something tha happens over 10% of the time in the MLB. Its a sacrifice that I hope I can make as I really like the idea of quick counts to speed up the game. But I would of sacrificed an extra few minutes to get a 0-0 count once in a while.

I am wondering the same thing regarding other features. They shouldn't really say feature complete as that makes it seem like diamond dynasty is coming to the Vita, which it hasn't had before.

Ive seen about 20 posts asking if there will be a 10 dollar upgrade like recent games have done. You clearly arent the only one.

You make no sense. You're talking like if the season ends, we can't play any more. The show has nothing to do with the MLB season. So YES im willing to pay 60 dollars for this game come May. And if they have a collectors edition(wishful thinking), I'll gladly pay for that too.

I am good with a may release, If it gives them time to reach that 60 fps on 1080p, then it will be well worth it

Last I saw, the season goes into September, and then the post season in October as well. How is that half?
