NBA 2K14 News Post

The NBA 2K14 patch for PS4 is available now and according to Ronnie, will be available "later" for Xbox One.

The patch fixes MyCAREER save file and The Park connectivity issues. If patch notes are released, we'll update this post.

Let us know what you're seeing.

Simballer has checked in with some details.

Patch 3 is the big one folks. Lots in there, so it's requiring some solid development time. This patch just resolves a few key issues to get some people playing and to ensure a few key services are functioning correctly. The lead time on patches (from when we're done to release) for XB1/PS4 is upwards of 2 weeks depending on first party load.

I have no faith that 2K will or even knows how to fix this glitch. So all of my time and VC invested into that mode is shot and I'm sick. The looks hilarious. All of the courts may work but every court is a slide show with all kinds of funky stuff happening. This is with a wired 10g/1g connection.

I'd have to give the patch a grade of INCOMPLETE, since it didn't really fix anything for me and many others I suspect.
Damn this kinda kills my confidence for their 3rd patch fixing mygm problems, if they cant fix minor bugs in mycareer then mygm might get the same treatment in the next patch.

Since we don't have patch notes how do we know what was or wasn't addressed in the patch?? You were one that said wait until the patch to fix this very issue in the MYCAREER Next-Gen thread, so don't give me that mess.

There is no excuse. I didn't start a MYCAREER at launch. I waited until a couple weeks ago. The freezing and loss of accumulated VC is a joke. This shouldn't happen. Frustrated with 2K and Vis Concepts right now...

I think you have to start all over for the patch to take effect. Which still means you lost all of that VC you used.

I think that alone should prompt some sort of VC give-away from 2K.

Any noticiable changes during gameplay?

MyCareer substitution glitch seems to be resolved... Need to see if this is consistent.

I've been fortunate in that I've made it to December in My Career with no glitches. Am I safe to continue post-patch and assume all is good, or is a fresh start needed to prevent problems that could arise?

Thank you for the info!

SimBaller, appreciate a response.

Speaking of key issues, why was the ability to save locally not included in this particular patch? That's one of the biggest issues that I have. The killing factor of not being able to play your save files when you take a trip unless you have internet connection is just mind boggling.

A lot of my gaming can only be done in the evening when I'm traveling, so this omission was HUGE for me. Something that I don't "get".

Done with this game on X1, back to the 360 version. The heck with the Patch, VC, Player Contracts, etc. make this game utterly worthless. Very dissapointed with 2K and may stick to old versions like I do with Madden 10.

It's still an issue, and I fully understand that, and that's why I'm doing my best to make sure this gets resolved.

I can't give you a date, as the process involves testing and approval, but the fix is definitely in the pipeline.

The "very good undrafted rookies being signed in the first year" bug is also one of the issues in the pipeline that we have resolved and are trying to push out ASAP.
The problems Leftos posted on above are the game breakers for me for My Career. I don't have save or freeze issues.....and haven't ever had them. I'm 20 games from the end of season 2. .Don't really care if the Park is fixed either....if I'm just going to have to start the my career all over again when the 3rd patch hits.

Can you confirm or deny whether Select Sides will be returning to MyGM games in Patch 3 (or any subsequent patch)?

Many of us are still wondering why it was removed in Patch 1.

I'm expecting about 2-3 weeks.

Which means I won't be playing NBA 2K14 for 2-3 weeks.

Ridiculous.

With what that guy just said about 2 weeks being required for approval AFTER the patch is completed, and how slow this development team works on anything that doesn't relate to fixing VC exploits?

We'll be lucky to have it by all-star.

On the other hand, if someone came out with a VC farming exploit today (read: getting VC at a reasonable rate instead of the grind currently required), you can bet that there'd be a patch to fix it tomorrow.

This 3rd patch isn't nearly as important because it concerns player enjoyment, which obviously comes second. Hope Live makes a strong comeback next year. If not, I may skip getting a basketball game for the first time in over a decade.

Make sure a fix for online leagues is in that patch and give admins the control tools back.

This is going to sound dumb, but my ps4 doesnt give me the option to update it when I go to the app. I even closed it and tried again, but nothing. I checked out options, and everything, but nothing. Please don't tell me I have to delete the whole game, and then reinstall it again....
