Just noticed today that they got rid of the behind the back dribble cheese. I know one particular os'er that will be happy with this.

I'm having an issue uploading videos/screenshots. Could be facebook tired of all of the videos etc I've been posting, but I was trying to upload a quarter or two of the Bobcats vs Clippers game I just played. I know 24th has had issues with them in the past. I ended up inserting CP3 back into the lineup for them, and just playing against them as a full strength team.

Ended up winning 109-101 in LA. Griffin ended up with 29 points, but a ton of jumpers, some dunks, some rebound into dunks, some drives. Jordan had 14 pts, most off of rebounds. PiP was not bad, 58 out of 101. A little over half, but they outrebounded Zeller and Big Al like crazy. I'll try to post the screenshots tomorrow. It was a great game. I was down 17 at the half, made several adjustments at the half and it paid off tremendously.

I saw a block animation that I hadn't seen before, and a celebration that I hadn't seen before. The celebration was Kemba looking at Zeller after he missed a rotation seemingly, luckily I was able to knock the ball out of bounds. Kemba looked at him, stretched his arms out like "What the..." and then smacked him on the butt. Pretty slick.

The block, I was able to get past everyone on a drive with MKG. Out of nowhere DeAndre comes from behind and ferociously swatted the ball into the baseline crowd. I've seen blocks from behind, etc, but this one was just vicious looking.

Hopefully I can upload things in the morning, the CE error that I was getting when pushing share was a new one on me.

So since they haven't really said, what exactly was included in this most recent game update? I know it was gameplay adjustments but I honestly can't really tell a difference.

Nobody knows. Pure speculation. Myself, 24th and several others have seen more blocks, and more contact in the paint. A little tighter defensive pressure. Hopefully we'll get some notes soon.

ive noticed more blocks and slightly less pip though im still giving up more than 50% a game inside.

side question: does anyone have any tips for shooting a face up jumper from the post? sometimes i like to get the ball in the post (back to basket) then face up and immediately rise for the jumper but the cpu always blocks it. it feels like there is a slight delay between when i face up and when im actually allowed to shoot. it drives me nuts because ive seen the cpu pull it off plenty of times.

something like:

There is definitely more contact in the paint, more misses....as much as i've been b****ing about it, trust me...lol

This is the kind've wonky thing I see though, and this may be a synergy issue...I shut down Roy, West the entire first quarter in the post, the Pacers have 20 points to my 36....18 of those Pacer points are from the paint...8 from Chris Copeland, all DUNKS in the post...I would say about 80% of the AI offense ran through the post....post player or not...I think this is what contributes to the PIP #'s being high...

I agree with this. It does seem like the the CPU runs plays through the post every time down.

I enjoy the dribbling and the shooting but the thing that frustrates me is that I can't get a lot of fouls called. It's hard to get subs in when there are not fouls called and hardly any stoppages of play. Defensively the post defense is terrible I've noticed if I don't play on ball defense on the post player it's an automatic spin baseline to dunk. I just got the game so I need to play it more to get a feel for it.

The one thing I loved was the atmosphere I played the demo Knicks vs Warriors and hearing the defense chants the crowd was so in to it I had to buy the game. I also liked having the ability to try different shots like shooting it off the glass. There were probably to many blocked shots in the paint.

Just like Kobe does in the video, sometimes a simple jab step after the face-up will create enough space for the jumper. Give it a try

I've been playing for a little while now so I decided to post here. I think the foundation has been set for this to be a great game. I think it actually replicates the NBA game well. I love the offball movement. It makes more sense here to me than it does in the other game. I thought it was a pretty ugly game at first until I started zooming in looking at replays. The player movement is phenomenal. I dont think I have seen any sliding and when you beat someone off the dribble it feels more rewarding. The signature in the game really makes it feel like every player is different. My expectations weren't really as high as other peoples so I guess I get more out of it but this game is definitely worth a try if you truely like the NBA game and not just the highlight plays you see on Sportscenter.

I was actually talking to someone about the sliding today....there is definitely sliding and shifting into place as I've posted, but I noticed that the game gives the player the same ability,...I actually think that's pretty cool in it's own way..lol. At least the playing field is even...

and I don't mean that as a backhanded compliment or anything...if you're gonna cheat let is both do it in the same context, lol

I picked up this game a few days ago, mainly due to the problems I dealt with in "the other game". I am pleasantly surprised with Live 14. There are definitely some things I love about the game, and there are numerous things that need major improvement.

Things I love:

The courts and arenas look amazing. The ESPN integration is a great touch, and I think it is implemented well. The updated jerseys look nice. And I appreciate the fact that I can play OR sim games in the rising star mode. Very refreshing, because- like most people- I have a life and don't have the time to physically play 82 games in a season. This mode lets me pick and choose when I want to play. As many others have stated- the spacing of the players on the court is very, very nice. I rarely feel like there is a sausage fest in the paint.

Things I don't like/Things that need to be improved:

The graphics obviously are not up to par. While they aren't nearly as bad as some of the reviews made it seem- they are definitely not "next-gen", but they are tolerable. However, the lack of appearance customization in the rising stars mode is something that baffles me. The extremely limited options when it comes to face/hair combinations is embarrassing. And for a next-gen game, in 2014, to not be able to at least add a beard, or a goatee, is unacceptable. That really shouldn't be hard to add. The shooting I have found quite difficult. I suppose I just need more practice, so I am willing to give it more time to get used to the mechanics. I also don't like the limited camera options.

I really do hope that EA continues to work on NBA Live, because if they can continue to build on their foundation, and improve the graphics, next year they could really make a run for a larger share in the market- especially with the issues that have been bogging "the other game".

One thing that bugs me to no end is the "same ability" as you call it. I'm thinking you're talking about CPU to controlled player, but what I'm referencing is the lack of discerning differencing in abilities between one player and the next. For example: I'm playing UT and Tim Duncan is running the point. Okay, whatever... so I get up on him figuring he's a turnover waiting to happen. Thing is, his handles are as good as Tony Parker, his speed is comparable to any PG and his court vision is like Magic Johnson. I'm sagging off daring him to shoot the three and he drains two in a row... I kid you not.

One of the reasons that fastbreaks are few and far between is because there is no real difference in speed from player to player. The bigs have the ability to pull of any dribble move that a guard can.

There are many things that I like about the game - the spacing is outstanding, the depth of defensive options are on point, even the play-by-play is intriguing - but the more I play the more things I find that I don't like. I sincerely believe there is great potential here for an excellent game, but it feels as if the game was launched in haste. Too many things left undone. Which in reality gives me great hope for Live 15. I don't know why I keep playing because I'm frustrated more times than I'm not. I guess I'm hoping that a patch or someother upgrade will be the answer to my prayers.

Reminds me of the little girl who wanted a pony for her birthday. Unfortunately it was beyond her parents financial means to buy one. On this particularly day, the father had a load of manure delivered to his driveway to fertilize one of his fields. When the little girl got home and saw the manure she dived head first into the crap. Her dad pulled her out and asked, "why did you jump into that mess?" To which the girl replied:
"There has to be a pony in there somewhere."

I sagged off Monroe of the Pistons and he hit a 3 against me.

Just a quick example of what I meant regarding filling the lane on fast breaks..

http://youtu.be/eLMmBCqskik

was a perfect opportunity for a fast break but both players just stopped for some reason...anyone know how to get them to keep running?

Just played an exciting game against the Wizards. Trailed the entire game but kept it close in the 4th. With 1 minute left down 1 I have the ball and drove the lane with Felton and the entire Wiz defense collapses so I kick it to Anthony for the wide open 3 and...BANG! Wasn't going for a 3 but he was so wide open had to shoot it. PIP were Wiz 78/105 pts, Mine were 58/108. Last possession they dribbled out the clock like they were ahead. This was my 1st 1 possession game down til the very end.

# 1498 WTF @ 01/20/14 09:09 PM
24th, unfortunately you'll have to lead pass before your PG passes the 3 pt line. As long as you do that, the guy that you lead will continue on. Not ideal but it works.

I've been trying to beat the Suns, with Denver for two games, today was the third. It was a great game! Back and forth until the 3rd where I just took over. Won the game by 10. Felt great! Foyed had 26pts 9/9 FG and 8/8 3 pointers. He was wide open every 8 of them! Had 6 players over 10 points. And Lawson with a double double, 11 pts 10 ast. I've got some highlights from the game, will post in the video thread.

Other then that, I'm seeing a bunch of new animations, and a lot more contact in the paint. It's heading in the right direction.

# 1500 DIRK41NOWITZKI @ 01/20/14 09:53 PM
6 seconds left in the game.... Steve Nash trying to get by the press and get down the court after the inbound pass. He then gets in an animation and just flat out drops the ball even though no one touched him. Other team grabs the ball, and goes in for a layup. Even though I ended up winning the game this was extremely frustrating. I really hope EA doesn't end up going the animation path and try to fill the game with pre-determined out comes.
