Down with my Lakers by 11 at the half vs the Suns and went on a 19-0 run!!! Don't think I've ever done that before.

This game just amazes me every time I play it. Smh

I was down 27 earlier. Not a good look at all. Hibbert picked up 2 quick fouls, 2 minutes into the game. Picked up a third foul as soon as he entered the game again. I was a mess.

9th game of the season against the Thunder(I use GSW)and just lost a nail biter 96-94. The game was back and forth the whole time, and I had to play my *** off to keep it that close with lack of big man inside to rebound against the likes of Durant, Ibaka, and Perkins.

Ran a smart offense, played solid defense - but in the end the thunder were just a bit better on this night. Heck of game, and can't wait to game 10 of my dynasty later!

Appreciate the suggestion to just keep playing on Pro WTF, as the game suits me the best - and offers a real challenge most nights.

Yeah, I still get my behind handed to me occasionally on Pro too. Most are just really competitive games.

I've not had this much fun with a game in a long time.

Working a strategy and executing in this game is unmatched in my eyes.

I don't know if it's just me putting in more time with the demo, but I'm finding a real flow with this game and it's fun. Goodness is it fun. It doesn't feel like a chore to actually perform like a star player. And that's what I really want in a sports game.

I just ordered this from Amazon.

Thanks for the impressions. And WTF thanks for that video clip. It completely sold me on giving the demo more time and falling in like with this game.

pro games are more fun but you need the challenge of all star, only makes you better.

You're at the same spot that I was in. Putting in more and more time with the demo, really getting a feel for the game. Wanting more.

Once you get the retail, turn on auto motion and enjoy. It's the most fun I've had with a sports game. Win or lose, I can pinpoint why. Only game I've seen that can provide a competitive game every game without feeling cheesed.

I was beat by 21 points the other day because I forgot to make adjustments and adjust my strategies.

I won by 12 earlier today after a back and forth game. With 3 minutes to go, I was up by 4. I called a timeout, made some defensive adjustments, and proceeded on to a comfortable win. I feel like each"stop" is a building block. Focusing on each possession to build my lead.

I've rambled. Enjoy CMH.

I confirm, the reviews do not do justice to this game thanks to the patch, there are so many things that I like in this game, the pace of the game from how to play the cpu, if they make a patch where improved graphics and some movements (the Stoppata is unwatchable) I think can be a great basketball game simulation much more than you think, about the schemes was wondering if there is such a thing in nba 2k14 on the field where the patterns appear to follow, I'm sorry if I'm not very clear in writing but I write from italy :-)

In settings, turn on "show play art"

Welp.... Official a part of the dark side, lol. Don't get me wrong, I love nextgen 2k14, but I rather see 1000 bad animations or etc... Than to deal with one more second of VC! That has pushed my final straw. Synergy has actually made a bigger impact than I expected! I guess it's going to be 2k14 against users (lol... No way you can play live 14 against users unless there cheese free), and live 14 against CPU... Really likening the flow of the game now that I put it on pro!

Just had one of THE best bball games against a CPU opponet. If EA ups fouls they'll have winner in terms of gameplay. I can look past the graphics if the game play works.

Also, I'm really ok with no sliders. It's nice not having to worry about adjusting sliders all day. I can just focus on playing bball.

After playing 2K for the first time in a while, I realized Live's ball and hand physics are better than some people think. I had this play in 2K where I clearly stole the ball(hand touched nothing but ball), but they called a foul. In Live you either hit the ball away for a steal or you hit the hand or body of a defender and get called for a foul. I'm not trying to bash 2K or complain about it as this IS the Live thread, I'm just using it to compare to what Live has for its ball physics.

One thing I would love to see in Live 14, is the same kinder court with different players from Live 10, when waiting for games too start..

But with a bunch of options, such as

How many players on the court you want.
Select your own players or make it randomized, team based ect.
Full court or half, different courts. Outside/inside maybe?
Option to be alone in the gym, 1on1 your chosen guy against random players or just stack the gym up.

Or just a practice mode!

Oh and one thing i thought about when I was playing last night. Live has the control mentality on point, with layers and layers of options. But when I press Y in defense, it randomly chooses from block, arms up, and defending the shot. I would like to see this.

My idea here is.

Tap Y/∆ = Block attempt
Double tap Y/∆ = Go straight up
Hold Y/∆ = Defend the shot

Outcome of the different options.

Block attempt:
Press one time, you go for the block attempt. Miss timing it will either make you foul the man, block it or in some cases make them miss (same concept as stealing the ball)

Go straight up:
You just jump straight up here, nothing fancy. Good old 101 in defense.

Defend the shot:
Your defender just goes too defend the shot. No block attempt, no nothing. Just a hand in the face or on the ball. (could depend on the timing or defensive player)

What u guys think of this?

Not bad though I wish you could just hold l2 to defend the shot like in 2K.

Not a fan of double taps in button layouts for what should be simple maneuvers.

If you make holding L2 instant hand in face when a player goes up, or at least just up on the right stick, then you can make hold Y/Triangle straight up when jumping and just pressing Y/Triangle a block attempt.

Somewhat agree with above, but I wouldn't say better, maybe better in some aspects....contesting the ball in the air...your more likely to block the ball with a random body part in Live...so it's hit and miss both ways...speaking of steals, I wish they would remove the delay when pressing the steal button..

EDIT: It would be fantastic if while they are adding in animations they add in defensive animations at the rim, I think that'd get me back into the game at least...game really reminds me of 2k13 in that aspect...just not enough counters to defend the basket...

i think the biggest issue is that players aren't always aware of other players body parts if that makes sense. like going up for a shot they may move the ball into a defenders arm because they dont realize where the ball is in relation to the defender. i think in time it will be worked out. but i like the the ball rarely goes through player bodies in this game.

Yeah I honestly can't recall much ball warping...body warping, yes...but def not the ball...

Hey WTF thanks for all the impressions. I'm enjoying live also. Quick question. How do you call a full time out on ps4? I know it's the middle touch pad for timeouts but I mostly get 20 seconds. I have managed to call a full timeout a few times but have no idea how I did it. Is it a particular region of the touchpad you have to press? Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer this.

I'm on you on that one! Hand in face by pressing up on the stick would be much better then, hand up and arms up that they already have, which i feel don't work.

As long as we have the opportunity to do what we want. Cause I often find that I rather go up with hand ind the face, rather then block or straight up.

I think if you're pressing the direction towards the player, and push the defensive button, it does the same thing as the 2k way of contesting (hand up). I know I see it all the time. I'm just comfortable with the controls, so I don't pay attention to it. I'll test it out and let you all know. I had to do it constantly with George Hill when guarding D-Will the other day.

It may not be today, but I'll get back with you asap on it. I'm almost positive you hold L2 and press the direction towards the shooter. Also, just a heads up CMH, don't overuse the L2 button, normally I just use it in the post, and then when the CPU is trying to actively take me off of the dribble.

Also, for those that don't visit the video thread:

Love this game. This type of stuff draws me in. The ability to execute offensively is a thing of beauty. I ran a double cross for Paul George and Lance Stephenson. PG24 was on a HOT Streak, Deron was initially coming to double George, I find Hibbert in the past. Deron gets caught up trying to change paths, Hibbert finds Hill wide open at the top of the key.

Here PG fakes the screen, Kirilenko gets caught cheating. PG squares up and launches, gets the very kind bounce. Early in this games life, you would have never seen this type of roll. I'm seeing the ball/rim interaction taking a life of it's own, and it's awesome.

Wanted to share the first video up there, ball movement, spacing, everything.
