What's funny is that after we've all the **** we've given Live, if I look at my friends' recent activity (a ton who are from OS), Live was played by them recently, so the fact that we're playing it means something.

Not challenging you at all but looking for some clarification. I haven't played Live but the changes seem to be very well received. Was it strategic AI changes or just smoothing of animations?

Do you think EA is now just aesthetically a step behind 2K or is the fundamental gameplay still lacking in some areas?

If EA is willing to dedicate their resources I don't see any reason why they can't compete or get close graphically.

...but gameplay isn't just a matter of putting in the time its going to take a certain level of talent to smooth out and make a game flow the way it should which is something 2K has done well up to this point.

Everyone should at least give it a shot! It's definitely not the same game at launch or even the demo...

With that said, I am going to put this game in its case for a while....debating on trading it in, or just keeping it to do the challenges...just not the game for me...I'm glad I was forced to learn the game by losing 2k, I got the chance to see a good foundation for the future...but as of right now the game just feels generic in so many aspects, especially in comparison from a visual and gameplay standpoint...most of my enjoyment stemmed from the fact that it was "something different", and that novelty has fully worn off...just think 2k is on a completely different level...including the CG version..

Only thing I would suggest to you guys is to keep giving honest and detailed feedback...beyond "it has it's flaws but I am having fun"...this is the only way we get a new and improved NBA Live '15...and that's what we all want!

anyway, glad we had options this year, and happy gaming fellas!!

I would say a combination of all the above and some.

Maybe not graphically in some peoples eyes but in other areas the last month EA has closed the gap. From a business side I would be concerned with EA and what they are doing and what the future holds especially with all the issues of the competition.

If Live 15 comes out as planned I got a feeling us gamers are gonna win HUGE next year with the ball titles. Gotta love competition.

Is this worth a purchase, or is 2k the better option on next gen

Thanks, this is what I'm really hoping for. If they're winning buyers over this year strictly with quality patches I've got hopes for what they can do with a solid development cycle.

If they can keep it within the box and refrain from trying to do too much it sounds like can really make some serious headway.

Find a way to rent the game nate1986. It's the easiest way to tell if the game is worth your purchase. You aren't spending our money, you're spending yours. It's well worth my $60.

I just got stomped as the Pistons against the Wizards. Wall & Beal was too much for me to handle.

That particular play killed me. If I go over the Gortat screen, Nene is there for a second screen. If he ignores the screen and drives to the hoop, you have Wall spotting in the corner. I saw Nene slip the screen, Gortat pop from the screen, Beal fake the screen and step back for the 3... Just a crazy offense. They were hitting, no doubt. I got into Foul Trouble as Monroe early on, and Drummond was pretty inefficient against Gortat/Nene.

I love 2k gameplay but lately I've been appreciating Live on the court too. Its still rocky in aspects of the fundamentals but the tweaking EA has been doing makes me glad I kept it. I felt at launch I wasted money, I don't feel like that now .

I just love that live feels different to 2k and I think that's enough.
Let's be honest 2k is probably the better "video game".
I think live represents a better portrayal of the sport.

I think the fact that 2ks gameplay has remained the same for quite a few years means live feels fresh worts and all.

They have a lot of work to do to compete in the marketplace but they definitely have my attention and I will continue to play live over 2k for the reasons above and the fact that the money grab that is VC annoys the crap out of me.

Rematch, here I come.
Damn WTF! 54 pts? Does LIVE have a tutorial?
Just messing with you man... sounds awesome! Can't wait to pick up a copy, probably after Christmas.

Thanks for answering my question, in what ways is live a better representation.of the sport

I got to do some game to nba live 14, I really like the pace of the game and how to play the cpu while some things are really ugly to look at, in particular, the blocks are made very badly, I also wanted to ask you if there is a way to see the patterns on the field as well as happens for nba 2k14

Hopefully you manage to get it before Christmas.

The game is tough. I had a convo with another OS'er yesterday on the difficulty level. I think that Pro is a great level of difficulty, and as you can see, the CPU superstars will definitely go off on you. Geez. Lillard could have had that many too, he was just off shooting wise.

Tough game, but man, it's a great feeling game. I saw 2 new animations last night in the post that I hadn't seen before, and a few dunks. I'm not sure if they're just rare, or they're new. Very fluid.

Pro is the level that I'm on and I get handled from time to time. I never know what to expect from game to game. The players/stars go off like they should and they also have bad games as well.

WTF I'm noticing new animations as well and I might add that some are done REALLY WELL. Yesterday I saw at least 3 that I hadn't noticed yet

EA keep the updates coming!!!

I have saw some HARD dunks in the paint, a couple of flip shots, some runners, several different animations. Like you said, they feel really well done.

It's funny, I was trying my back off of Wade strategy yesterday, he was standing out on the wing beyond the 3, I was standing a good 5' away from him. Typical Wade, he pump faked, to see if he could draw me out. I didn't bite. He sat for a second, rose up and hit the 3. From that point, seems as if he played with a little more swagger, and started hitting some tough jumpers.

His little flip shot that I seen the other day was D-Wade to a T. I'm just wondering what all they're adding in.

I finally got an opportunity to try the game out again post patch by borrowing it from my friend again. I like that they improved the constant movement of the players on offense and defense and providing more commentary. I still have gripes with the fact that there are too many blocks in the game. Next the CPU at times does not take advantage when you leave a player open. I also still have a problem with the animations portrayed in the game, and I hope they address these problems if Live 15 comes out because I prefer Live's feel over the competition. Hopefully they get it right all across the board in the near future.

First off I would like to say I am an NBA LIVE fan. But of recently I have not felt the need or want to play the game , live 09 and 10 had promise but was always blown away by 2k. Cancellation after cancellation made me more and more frustrated. Then when they announced it would be coming to next Gen platforms I felt like they had a chance at redemption.. Shortly after playing the game when it was released on November 19 I was very disappointed VERY. For one I know a next gen title shouldn't look like a ps3 or xbox 360 game.. Game play didn't have a realistic flow.. Animation was minimal at best.. There "HAS"to be an reaction for every action on the ball court..not a default lay up that every single player does in the paint.. Seems like every big man goes baseline and then gathers him self Rite under the basket for a high percentage shot.. After the patch was released there there have been some enhancements towards gameplay.. And with the promise of more to come is keeping me on board and spreading the word. Keep up the great work Team

I'm considering picking up the game in a couple of days. It looks fun. Even if it's flawed in some areas, that is something I can easily deal with if I'm simply having fun playing it. I keep checking the video thread and I just want to get my hands on it!

I really disliked the first gameplay videos that came out around release, but it seems like the game has been improved since launch.

Also, I found out about "auto-motion" in the latest gameplay tips video and I'm a huge fan of such a feature.
