So I broke down and got Madden.

Holy crap, am I glad I did. I don't know if videos just didn't do the game justice, or if my expectations were just so low that anything was going to seem good. Whatever it is, I just played my first fun game of madden in almost 8 years.

Man, I'm struggling like crazy to score on just the Pro setting. I don't know whether that's a good or bad thing, lol. I'm not that great of a player - mainly just use gameflow on offense and defense - but I routinely put up 30's and 40's on All-Pro CG. Gone are those days, lol.

FYI.

For those that don't know. PS4Madden have the ability to save games. I was playing a quick game and stopped at the half. Well I just turned Madden back on and it asked if I wanted to continue with the last game!

FINALLY!!! IN GAME SAVES!!!

Petty much. I was even playing other games and when I put madden back in, there it was.

There is no like "in-game save" label or anything, you can either quit a game (while staying in madden) and lose the progress, or close madden from the PSN menu/turn console off and you will be able to continue when you get back. I am kinda shocked EA didn't say anything about this, maybe they did but I never heard anything.

CPU runners seem to use juke and spin moves much more frequently. I am liking it.

Don't quit the game. Just press the PS twice to bring you to the PS dashboard so the game will continue running in the background.

Cornerbacks play the run 100x better.

Defensive players also react to scrambling Qbs far better than current gen

Thanks for all the impressions. It sounds like the game is good but not great. I will not get it. I want to be blown away and that clearly will not happen. If there is a demo, I will check it out.

This seems to be a feature unique to Madden, at least so far. I know the ps4 is getting suspend And resume later, but it doesn't work for me in any game right now except Madden, so give EA some credit. I too am surprised they didn't tout this feature. I personally have been asking for it since they took it out in 2006.

Madden feels like it's probably closer to 40 FPS most of the time, plus it still stutters a lot.
And I'm betting that's the reason why the visuals are the way they are. They got scaled back.

It's extremely noticeable after playing NBA 2K and Battlefield, which are both locked in at 60 frames per second.

Madden is skipping frames and stuttering all over the place for me.
Is no one else having framerate issues? It is certainly not a solid 60fps. It seems much less smooth than the 360 version.

So far I'm pretty impressed with this game. While the presentation is just a shined up version of the CG game, it plays so much better. I can really see now how EA was kind of screwed on this one. You really can't tell a difference by just looking at the game, you really need to play it and kind of feel the differences for yourself. Once you start playing, you can see how the changes work and how the feel of it all is so much better.

Is there a patch for the game? I know there is a system software update.

I mean it looks like they listened to us a little. The offensive line play is 10x better. Similarly tru step is good too. Cheeses can't do that swerve running anymore. Also the infinity engine is better too. The gang tackling works and there's no more players falling over each other post play. It's not the best game but they did address a lot of concerns. It's clear that the E3 video was CGI and not "actual gameplay." I tried to recreate that RG3 running animation and it's not in the game. That pro-talk animation where AP runs through the defenders isn't in the game. That dive that RG3 does at the end of the trailer also isn't in the game.

Honestly I am having no framerate issues at all, and no stuttering. My game has been very fluid consistently -

I see the frame rate act up a bit on normal. But I lower my game speed to very slow. Plays gracefully like that. I'm very pleased. First sports game I really notice a great crowd and atmosphere

havnt played much yet but I can say the game is playing very well. running is smooth and the OL/DL is noticeable immediately. this game is a solid base foundation and im pleased with EA. still seems to be a lot of haters and im no fanboy AT ALL. but if u cant admit that this game plays very good and that there are a lot of improvements then u just don't like madden. this is based off of play now and 2 games in. will give more in depth impression after I play a few more games

Negative comments removed as I am starting to enjoy the game the more I play it.

Hmmm

I'm thinking this may be because of my disc? It's very loud in my drive, none of my others are, and I deleted it and tried to reinstall and now it just keeps freezing, and took like 40 minutes to install the last 2 minutes.

I'm gonna exchange it and see what happens
Nba and ghosts run perfectly
