NBA 2K14 News Post

As if you couldn't imagine NBA 2K14 adding anything else cool, today 2K Sports released a trailer that reveals they have 600 real player and coach interviews which will be used in the game.

The feature, called 2K Real Voices, will feature real halftime and post-game interviews. Most likely a few players per team are represented with multiple possible interviews per player, it's a cool feature for sure that'll help the immersion factor within the game.

Sounds crazy cool, what do you all think?

Honestly I just want see what happens when a non star, bench players will say if they're the ones going off. I doubt they got patty mills, cory jospeh ,jeff ayers voices in that game.

The fact that they're using old interviews is a negative thing in my opinion. Yea, it's a cool concept but I want something fresh. Maybe they need to get a voice synthesizing machine or something and take all the normal players actual voices and splice them up to create what 2k wants them to say. This kind of kills the replay-ability and longevity of it all, I'd rather them have them standing there shaking there heads with no audio and a full halftime show instead.

I like the fact that NBA Live has all the wired segments and will update as the season goes on, so EA gets a new recording from ESPN they can update it as time goes on, it keeps the game feeling fresh. Replay-ability is what it's all about. I think that's the reason I love playing online so much, because no two players are the same, they might have similar tactics but the refreshing feeling of playing someone new or experiencing something new keeps the game fresh.

Clearly this has something to do with the 40+ Gb this game is made of.

I just need to see next-gen MJ and I can die happy.

Some just thrive on complaining Lol. Even in real life the players spout the same things over and over. "I just wanted to do what I could to help my teammates" when we play our type of basketball...." We just wanted to leave everything on the court" its a make or miss league" he's a great player, we just wanted to make him work for every shot" yadyada

This is an awesome touch if you ask me. And seems to be well done

It's not like I'm not extremely happy about the addition and impressed with the effort. 2K doesn't need any "slack" from me-- I'm not condemning them or the game for imperfections. They're doing an amazing job effort wise and I'm hyped to get it next week.

I just believe in detailed, constructive criticism early and often. I'm sure the devs are that way too. It's how the game got to be where it's at.

Damn you 2K!!!!! I got this game in my hand that I gotta wait another 6 days to play and you keep teasing me!!!! Stop teasing me man, I'm gonna go crazy waiting!!!

This is cool but not really why I play 2K ball per-se, still nice to see them putting this much dedication in a next-gen sports title compared to EA who are just up-ressing their CG sports titles for new systems (can't speak on Live yet as it has been a no-show for a bit mind you). I think sometimes we get over critical of NBA 2K because they set a very high bar from the get go and unlike other games with actual competition we only have the actual NBA to judge against when it comes to this game, not saying some legacy issues won't still be there but they seem to be actually trying to figure out ways to utilize the new hardware as opposed to just making things prettier like Fifa and Madden seem to be doing.

I also feel like not buying current-gen makes me less jaded about the gameplay than some, maybe if I was playing this on my PC or one of the consoles already the gameplay would seem more stale at launch but having only seen any yearly improvements through Da Czars couple of videos for freelance offense it'll all be new to me...1 more week (first time I haven't bought a launch day copy of 2K since 2K8 and the painful wait is almost over).

Been waiting for this for years! Thanks 2k!

Do you think they got real voices too in game, i mean for example after a contact when Lebron screms to get a foul called?

Live: We have a fully featured game.

Take your pick:

2K: So player editing isn't a feature now?

2K: Hard to lose features you never had.

2K: Okay we lost 30 team control. Sorry for trying to make association and existing modes awesome.

This video reminded me that they had a version of this in NFL 2k5 (with voice actors instead of players and it was extremely rough) and just made me appreciate that game even more. I can't wait to see how they improve on this in the next games.

I still can't believed what I saw

I don't care if it's from Real-Life Interviews I'm just glad something like this is in a video and I hope all Next-Gen Sports games can add something similar

Now with Live having ESPN and only right for 2K to get the rights to TNT

Love this Feature ... I know its going to get repetitive BUT what do you expect in its first year
