the ball physics greatly improved, and i love the new scoreboard.
there is something off about the gameplay video though. It plays like current gen, as least thats how it looks, I thought they would be more individual movement up and down the court, small nuances throughout the game. Stuff like that. I expected to much, I'm a little disappointed, but this order made me keep my preorder, so we will see how it turns out. I'm more excited about 2k15 now than 2k14. 2k14 is laying the ground work and it seems to be like a pretty good foundation.
To be honest, Im very disappointed about the commentary. The artificial crowd sound efx, and clark kellog. I thought maybe we'd be seeing some fresh and new commentary. commentary still seems a little robotic
ARGH. Not only that but Paul Pierce's shot has been wrong for the last 3 years too. This is one of those small little things that just grate on my nerves. It's not visually correct and I'm tired of looking at that funky looking shot that looks nothing like his actual form.
People whined in 2K11 that his set shot (3pt) release was too hard to learn, and so they just went with the masses and just gave him the same release for 3pt as his mid-range in 2K12. His mid-range also doesn't look like that (maybe the shot base). He hardly jumps on his mid-range. The one they gave him in 2K looks more like how Wilson Chandler shoots IRL, whose shot release ofc is also done inaccurately.
Faces look phenomenal. Best ever in a sports game. I have no problems saying that.
The lighting really makes this shine.
I thought I'd notice a bigger differential in the player models but I didn't.
TBH, it just looks like a brighter, cleaner version of current gen IMO.
Spacing was poor with guys getting clogged in the lanes. And it looked like Chalmers morphed through Curry with his arm.
I liked the pick animation with Chalmers fighting through it.
Overall, I'm not even close to being blown away like after I saw the trailer.
Graphical improvements are great and it's good to see them using the power of the console.
But the AI issues are still there from current gen. Definitely a letdown for me. Way too much action going on in the paint with bad spacing.
Looks better than CG obviously lol but I don't know. I just thought it would look better overall. I can tell we'll think theses graphics sucks 6 years from now. It looks like it's the start of a new gen... But it's not as impressive as I thought it would be based on the trailers.
Court's lighgtning and reflections... Looks off.
good thing to know is that it only gets better from here
and yea i agree with the lighting on the court. noticed this in the trailer too.
Ughh Gamespot, Looks good really, and you gotta think that video is really not the best quality. So we aren't seeing the best of what this game looks like. Not sure why this guy is previewing the game, I could definitely do without him saying anything.
The intro to that video and footage of other players looked current gen to me (for example, Curry without facial hair) Can't confirm that for sure, but things seemed upgraded and more in focus (hd, if you will) once Miami/GS started.
Few notes:
-coaches and assistants wearing suits/jackets. Not just sweater vests. That's good.
-as mentioned, no players wearing warmups on the bench. Small eye-sore. Surprising ommission to me.
-paused a couple times. Crowd looked a little more repetitive than i expected. Fans wearing Heat jersey with no #. Even sitting in same patterns, etc. Hopefully this improves down the line. Crowd looked very similar to current gen in that vid to me

NBA2K has what's been acknowledged as the best commentary in a sports game by miles for the past few years. And you say it sounds a little robotic? And you're disappointed it sounds the same? They added a ton new commentary for the current gen game yet you expected something COMPLETELY new in this game also? smh at the goofy expectations some of you have

Don't underestimate the power of Points of Emphasis, especially in the adjustments the coaches will make during the game based on how it evolves. That's something you definitely won't get from a short gameplay video, among other things.
Can't wait for you guys to see more and get to experience this.
in that pic, he never touched lebron's head. I find it funny that they emphasis ball on hand and tangibles, but yet bosh cant touch lebron's head. there's a forcefield
