maybe jesus is still in the game, the reason why live cant release a 5 on 5 actual gameplay. remember the demo of nba elite 11 that, jesus possess bynum or mwp i think, that cause cancellation of the game.. i will still bet my money for 2k14 for ps4.

OK so I tried to stay out of it but I just can't..... I leave and I get sucked right back in. First off some of you are just trippin' and it's the same 2 or 3 that are always complaining so I won't even bother with them.

Anyway my thoughts on these pictures.... Player models look good but the lighting and reflection on the players needs work. I don't want them so shinny they look like shinny plastic figures but the need to find a happy medium. Second I still think the jerseys look amazing. Third, the ball.........people trippin' about the ball..... Guess what the ball isn't a bright orange pumpkin like we have been brought up in video games to believe. I have a dozen in my closet right now that have never seen the outside. They have seen a months worth of two a days and guess what...... They are a brownish orange!!! Closely resembling the one in the picture. I am pretty sure the NBA doesn't bust out a new ball for every game, they use broken in balls....maybe some of you here need to break in your balls....might help that whinny syndrome you all have!!!
Last and the thing that bothers me the most are the arm bands, knee pads, et..... They have no texture what so ever. They look like they are just digitized blobs put on the players arms and legs. I want to see some creasing, some movement in these. Not what we have had for this whole last gen of video games.
I've said my peace..I'm out.

Surely even the most diehard of Live fans are a bit worried that they're still only revealing screen shots with a month left until release. I would love to see this be a great series once again, to push 2k to new innovations and vice versa, but it's hard to get pumped about Live right now considering the history the past few years, and the complete lack of info we've predictably been given. Oh well, probably gonna be next year before I go next-gen anyway. The decision will probably be more obvious by then.

I actually saw a charge called (in one game, and it was a CPU player drawing an off-ball foul!). I've been playing 2k14 for a couple weeks, and haven't seen a single charge called. And the crowd noise was better than what we have now in terms of reacting to what's happening on the court. Live may not look as pretty as 2k in motion, but they did a lot of things under the hood much better than 2k.

I played 09 as much as anybody but that game had some severe issues and it wasnt just movement. Problem with this all is you wouldn't play live 09 very long before you couldn't stomach it anymore

The truth has been spoken, this is what I call constructive criticism, not just hating anything EA does to hate it. Because it seems like that's what's really going on around this thread.

I mean that is actually a pretty good looking picture and Kyrie Irving's stance doesn't looked hunchbacked to me, but there is a slight tilt that makes it look really defensive, and after listening to the podcast it's stated that the defense has a lot of options (I'm guessing there might even be some type of modifier like the offense.)

Overall, thank you for a real post and not just some EA hate, I mean this forum has some real intelligent and well spoken posters, but many times there drowned out by trolls or people with a grudge against EA in general, they won't even let you speak positively about them without shutting you down or reminding you of Elite.

I think it actually looks really good, and on a high definition t.v in my living room it will probably look even better, and with the sound of NBA Live's crowd I know the atmosphere will feel right.

I love reading NBA Live forums for humor.

Every thread turns into 'I want a video' or 'They show us nothing'. Every topic gets off track instantly. Instead of directly commenting about the given topic/photo/etc it becomes a rant fest and a PS4 vs XBOX ONE type of discussion.

That being said I'm hopeless optimistic based on the screenshots for this game.

Looking at past lives and seeing raymond felton in that video in the exact same stance and shuffling his feet like he was doing the mc hammer typewriter dance while hunched over is the reason for the hunchback concern....not just based off of one screen shot.

You can dismiss whatever you want to as hate (which really doesn't invalidate anyone's point) but that's an issue they've had for a long time. You forget people's requests for fixes were largely ignored over the years and it's looking like some of the same stuff is still there. If its not then you explain to me why thing like the same defenaive stance is in that video and that same stiff layup kyrie did that was in live 09.

Anyway you can determine other things in that screen shot besides John Wall. People are looking for details and rightfully so since ea hasnr given anything else thus far

It's not them being in a defensive stance. It's all the players in the game really, they all have that hunched over, Quasimodo look to them. If you've played Live before, you know what this is.

I think the screenshot looks pretty damn good, just like I think the one of Oladipo the other day is pretty impressive as well. But I'm obviously in the minority here. LOL. I just don't take this stuff so seriously anymore. If they still haven't released good videos before the release date, then I won't buy it. If they release some good ones and I like how the gameplay looks, I'll buy it when I get a PS4. Simple as that. It won't matter if they release a gameplay video today, most of you will want 2 or 3 more.

The EA Sports crew didn't take advantage of an opportunity, but that doesn't mean the game is going to be crap. It doesn't mean it won't be crap either, but time will tell. You people have zero patience, and like someone else stated earlier, it's pretty comical visiting the NBA Live forum here at OS. I'm just thankful I have more important things to do than gripe about a video game we don't know enough about to warrant griping.

In the last game released which was live 10 it wasnt only cosmetic because you could be running down court full sprint with LeBron and they could follow you all the way down court at the same speed in that stance (CPU) and meet you at the rim

It also looks weird with the super fast feet shuffling, stiff body but like I said, if you played past Live's and from what has been seen here, its concerning, and like anything else, im still in wait and see mode, because there is no reason that stuff should still be there.

Not that fast breaks still weren't ineffective anyway. Fastbreaks were nearly impossible in Live 10, for some reason the CPU players ALWAYS found a way to get back on time, even when you had a clear 3-1 advantage.

When they did it in that stupid hunched over animation, that made it even worse.

NBA Live 10 was just flat out more fun than NBA 2K10 was. Once again, I'm obviously in the minority here, but I could care less. I'm going to buy the game that's more fun to me, and a few years ago, that game was NBA Live 10. It sucks EA Sports hasn't been able to get a game out in recent years, but hopefully they can get things going in the right direction again with 14.

And while we haven't seen much of NBA Live 14 to this point, nothing I've seen has turned me off yet. I've liked what I've seen so far.

I wonder if the next-gen sports titles are scared of their product? its seems like all that they may have upped are the graphics and cosmetics of the game, and are worried to show gameplay because the improvements are limited

Dude you could have all the momentum and the guy would still stop you in your tracks and put you in some cheesy contact shot. It wasnt just cosmetic and again look at the lame shuffling hunchback defense if still there is a legacy problem

Dont try to minimize something that shouldn't be there in the first place. Stop making excuses for everything.

I couldn't agree more, I mean I got a kick out of both games honestly. I think it's because I'm basically an online only player, so I enjoy the competition. Both Live and 2k brought a different flavor in 2010. When I wanted to build fantasy team in an online association and watch my team of mediocre players lead by Paul Pierce light up the league I would play 2k, it was fun.

Then when I got tired of 2k, and I wanted to go online and break some ankles with NBA Lives freestyle dribbling I would play Live. They both served a purpose, I never really compared them but enjoyed them both for what they were, flaws and all. I'm just glad that's back.

I don't care who wins the selling war, I don't work for either company, just put out a game I like and I'll buy it. Simple as that. I haven't seen anything from either game yet that says don't purchase, or that says purchase. So I'll wait and see. Most likely I'll get both because I'm just a fan of basketball, and competitive gaming online. From what I've seen and read so far NBA Live looks and sounds good. Team specific defenses, signature dribbling, physics based net & rim interactions, ball physics, even better atmosphere, fun defense, and a game that is shying away from exploits (cheese); Live sounds like a game I would love to play when I get my PS4

Of course there's probably someone who's going to say, "Oh, don't believe the hype EA is lying to you, don't you remember Elite, it's all buzzwords." Well, I'll wait and see for myself, and it seems EA is pretty confident letting the us see and decide for ourselves.

Overall good screenshot, and just the way John Wall is protecting and holding the basketball does look like how he would actually handle the ball in real life. I like, I hope they've gone or will go into as much authenticity (buzzword, nope real word) when it comes to the post game also. If they came out and said we have over 50 signature post game packages I would probably start drooling just thinking about the variety and fun that would bring to the game for me personally.

I just hope all the arenas aren't this dark. Not every team players under MSG or Staples Center lighting. Hopefully it's just picture editing affects.

I think one thing we can count on Live doing right is the arena atmosphere and presentation. NBA Live 10 STILL has better crowds than 2K, especially during Playoffs and Finals time. Made me feel like I was really playing a special game.

I'm tired of the screen shot under card. When does the gameplay main event come on?

Whoo I'm telling you, I would have my surround sound set on arena when I would play NBA Live 10.

There was a time when I was playing NBA Live 10 online and I was the home team. The game was cutthroat and I was shooting two game clinching free throws. My home crowd got so silent while I was shooting I could slice the tension with a knife. No sports game ever pulled me into the game that much, once I hit the free throws the crowd just erupted. It was such a great experience and really made the competition feel REAL.

From what Scott said in the Podcast that atmosphere is going to be back, and probably better than ever I'm assuming, especially with an ESPN broadcast package. The wait is on, I'll take any info you have EA, and this screen is not a bad start.

Just want to point out this post and there are a few others, but I won't quote them all. Nobody has said they won't buy Live when it comes out. Nobody has told anybody excited about Live to not buy it. But posts like this and a few others that continue to try to paint this picture like that's what's going on are the real comedy in this forum.

What myself and the people some of you keep taking veiled shots at have been doing have voiced concerns about the game based on things we've seen that align with things we've already seen in the past. We're all basically on the wait and see approach just like you guys are, but when something comes up that raises a concern we voice it and based on past experiences you would be a moron not to. Some of you taking shots about not being able to say anything positive about Live without getting jumped on are being hypocrites because you're complaining about "letting people be excited" and stating opinions and all this stuff, but if anybody expresses anything other than complete and utter excitement by whatever bread crumb we get on the game then all the "hating on anything EA does just to hate" comments start flying out of the woodwork.

I think the most comical out of the whole thing is the constant bringing up of 2K. I'm begging you guys, go into and actually read the 2K forums for a change instead of pretending like they aren't catching the same hell. The color of the basketball in the LeBron screenshot over there got criticized too.

Skopin you're one of the worst. 23 criticizes 2K as well so saying that Live is the only bball game he has a problem with is completely inaccurate. Everytime you post a gripe about Live, you make sure you lump 2K into as well. 2K's flaws are all known and addressed and bitched about ad nauseam in the 2K forums. You don't have to deflect legit concerns here in the Live forum about what 2K is doing wrong.

Everybody here wants two good basketball titles on the market to choose from. There's really no need for the warring for no real reason.
