Another next-gen Madden NFL 25 video has arrived, showing nothing but zoomed in footage from a simulation of tonight's match-up between the Indianapolis Colts vs. San Diego Chargers.
Glad I got to see this vid. I was afraid I wouldn't see anything that would sway my opinion one way or the other on this game until it was too late. I wasn't expecting much from this game, but I was crossing my fingers hoping that EA would shock me.
Looks like it's the same old, same old.
I had reserved this through Amazon, but I'll just cancel that and stick with FIFA and NBA2K as my only sports games on next-gen.
I'd love this, but why would they go to all the trouble for the port from current gen to next gen when they're starting over. Kolbe has been working on next gen for two years, maybe they ran out of time for this year, but I doubt it. I was soooo disappointed when I heard they weren't starting from scratch for next gen.
I understand the risk of repeating the start of this gen again, but if you trust your devs and your vision have some guts and scrap your bad code base go for an amazing modern base and build off of it for years.
They had 2+ years to rebuild with a ghost team headed up by a great dev and it looks like they blew it.
Yea, that's the most disappointing thing for me as well - that they aren't scrapping this engine altogether.
It was the most unsuccessful engine in Madden history, and yet they are bringing it over to next-gen. It just means that we're going to have to wait a long time to ever see a good Madden game again.
Please please please let 2K or someone else get a crack at an NFL game.
Do you think kolb said to himself, wow when the people on os see this vid they are going to flip out. He better than anyone should have known that this vid should not have been released.
Anyone else think this is funny? EA seems to be failing in crunch time. Sooner or later the NFL will evaluate their exclusive ties with EA and I hope that they choose wisely. This is not how next-gen is done. I hate that we don't have a good football game on the market right now, but I think this could all be a blessing in disguise.
Question for those saying this is some super old build and ESPN f'd up..
Why, better yet, HOW does a huge company with a huge marketing department like EA/EA Sports not control what build they are playing on? ESPN is only the biggest name in sports. MNF is only watched by EA's exact target audience, NFL fans. The ONLY footage available is the trailers and whatever ESPN shows. So how in the hell does EA send ESPN videos from a PREE3 build and let them post them now only to take them down later?
Laughable.
why would these companies with those qualities you mentioned take down videos they both had full intentions on using? so now they are going to hide the game and not let anyone see the actual game? laughable..............
All these emails I get from the nfl commissioner about nfl tickets and fantasy, I think it's time to reply and let him know how dissatisfied fans who can't play the game in real life are with the replication of the game by EA Sports/ madden. It think it's time for the million man madden march against the exclusive license lol

Why did ESPN take it down? ESPN clearly said "ask EA". Check the twitter convo someone posted. So EA wanted it down. Why? Check the reaction, it's pretty obvious.
You think its easy don't you? You don't realize they would basically have to make the same game twice in one year if they started from the bottom. I don't think any company has the budget for that dude. Just because its a next gen release year doesn't mean they get to double up on stafffing. All I saying is this....I'd rather have a graphical upgrade on the same game than a complete abomination of a re-written code. engine etc. You must have never played Madden 06 on 360 huh? Man EA is still rebounding from that!!!! 8 YEARS LATER!!!! LOL
Did I say it was easy? It's not easy but it's possible.
The budget? PLEASE look up how much money Madden alone makes every year. They have plenty of money. Especially since they obviously haven't been putting the money back into the game for the last 8 years right?
Who said they need to double up on staffing? Seems to me plenty of other companies are doing current gen and next gen games. I don't think they all had to double their staff. Did NBA2k double their staff? They have two very different looking games. I don't think it took twice the people to do it.
So you rather have a graphical update on a game you know is broken. Instead of them trying ot make a game that works? Well, thats you. I'd prefer them try to make a game that works from the ground up. Not try to put icing on a turd..
I played Madden 06 and it was horrible. They SHOULD'VE went from the ground up after that. But instead they put graphical changes on a broken game for 8 years and people like you are okay with it because you don't want them to **** up worse...lol.
If anything THIS was their chance to just rehash M13 for the current gen and focus FULLY on next gen since the end of the last Madden cycle. Instead of making this bull**** BROKEN current gen game that we are still waiting for a patch for while at the same time making a bull**** next gen version. But what do I know, I'm just a consumer!

that implies they forgot the reaction last week, and they don't want anyone to see their game now. that would be very odd. but at anyrate I don't know, I just think this whole thing with ESPN is wierd
I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I'm just amazed at this to be honest with you all. I didn't think this transition to next gen would be worse then the last time. Clearly I was wrong because I don't know what the heck I just watched. I'm Disappointed and so are many others. Something clearly needs to be done because the direction of this Franchise is going downhill and fast. I've lost all hope in Madden ever even coming close to its glory days ever again.

It is weird.
EA provides ESPN with the footage right? They didn't give ESPN a copy of the game and tell them to play and record what happens. I highly doubt anyone in the ESPN offices is sitting with a copy of Madden making these videos. They have to be coming from EA. So how can they come from EA at some point and then all of a sudden "this isnt want we wanted to show" "this is an old build" "blah blah". EA should be in full control of what versions of the game we see and when. They can't even get that right.
