Lol yeah I know ESPN wouldn't put together those perfect replays like EA would but the frame rate , stiff animations, etc are done better on current gen. Even that practice field video of the early build animated better than the ESPN vid. I'm just saying something is odd. Id like to see some official gameplay.

I think Madden does need to completely rebuilt. But I think EA feels that's not practical. And they are probably right.
With the small changes that we saw from year to year on current consoles they have no excuses for not having the time to completely rebuild it.

If they flop this gen like they did the last one I wouldn't be surprised if EA sports was no more by the time this next gen life cycle is over.
Come on man. Madden, FIFA, NHL alone will sell enough to keep them afloat, they're not going out of business. Add to all the die hard NBA Live fans that will buy that game every year this gen, they're not going anywhere. I agree with a lot of what you say, but this just won't happen.

At E3 you showed demos of Next Gen Madden that was said to be in game running on Xbox One tech...Was that true and if so why does the game look nothing like that now?

Also in the IGN interview you were showing what you claimed was actual Madden Gameplay with Adrian Peterson...Can you explain why the game now looks nothing like what you displayed in the IGN interview?
Right there with you. It's one thing to have a cg trailer but we saw actually gameplay with that Adrian Peterson running demo.

I honestly cannot tell the difference between this and the ps3/360 version, other than the next-gen version being a little brighter.

Its not about time, its about money. Calculated decisions that benefit them first and the consumer second.

We saw some runs on a practice field that looked eerily similar to current gen, even back then. I'm confused as to why people keep bringing that vid up? It showed nothing next gen to me. The graphics were better, and the running animations were a smidgen better. It's not like they showed something completely different from what we're seeing in these trailers.

Madden isn't going anywhere either, it's the sad truth. Like I said, these casual, tournament, online gamers will continue to buy this game in droves. Madden will be around for as long as the NFL and EA want it to be.

While other games it might be fine.
Lol except they don't even fix 2-3 issues each year. They just create 2-3 new features that nobody asked for which will be thrown out of the game a year or 2 later.

Finally watched it on my Laptop and man, I must say, every time ESPN releases a video.....the game looks like a PS2 game.

Is this just their encoding or truly what the game looks like? I'm not expecting CG levels of visuals here, but the "in-game" trailer they released during E3 the game looked pretty good. Even the video of Adrian Peterson they had on IGN during E3 of AP running around looked 10xs better then this current video.

It's not even the visuals that baffle me, but it's the animations and the way the game looks to be moving. It's almost like it came out of the PS2 era.

EA needs to come out and tell us what's going on.

Because imo it looked like it played smoother and better than what ESPN is showing now. No it didn't blow anyone away but as an early build I didn't expect it to regress. It just makes me suspect something isn't right

What i'm saying is, if you zoomed in on that video, sped it up and added some lighting, it would look like these trailers we're getting.

I think people are just stuck on the fact that it was zoomed out, 11 v. 11 gameplay, albeit only running plays.

If you put some passing plays in that E3 vid and zoomed it in, guys would have had the same reactions they do now with these ESPN vids.

yeah I hear what you're saying, but I never gave the impression that it looked good or bad. My point is very simply is that it looks different than what we're seeing now.

The quarterback pass releases seem way too fast, why would they speed them up any more than they already were on current gen? Also, like somebody else said Rivers has a unique throwing motion that obviously will not be included in this game, but somehow they include guys like Trent Edwards throwing motions.

Don't know if this has been posted, yet, but here is a remark from former Developer, Phil Fraizer, on Twitter, who doesn't have any ties to EA anymore.

For what it's worth, twittering with Owen Good, the writer of the Kotaku article earlier:

Owen Good ‏@owengood 3h
I honestly—hand to God—thought ESPN had screwed up this morning, and used Xbox 360 Madden footage, calling it Xbox One.

Phil Frazier ‏@Fillycheze 3h
@owengood This is not far from reality. EA probably marked it as X1 footage by mistake. Pulled it because it's not. That's 360 for sure.

@owengood That footage is clearly 360. My guess is the capture team didnt realize they had to use X1. It was probably pulled for that reason
