That's definitely next gen guys. No way that's current. It's sad to say that but it's true

So this same madden team that needs years to add new accessories/get colors correct/do the simplest of things technology wise yet they have one version of next gen madden with old animations and a "fully rendered, optimized, version" with all the old animations replaced and somehow ESPN still has the old version? Lol..

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiight....

Back in May Andrew Wilson, executive vice president of EA Sports had this to say.

Question for those saying this is some super old build and ESPN f'd up..

Why, better yet, HOW does a huge company with a huge marketing department like EA/EA Sports not control what build they are playing on? ESPN is only the biggest name in sports. MNF is only watched by EA's exact target audience, NFL fans. The ONLY footage available is the trailers and whatever ESPN shows. So how in the hell does EA send ESPN videos from a PREE3 build and let them post them now only to take them down later?

Laughable.

Ian Cummings and that crew did a decent job puling last gen out of the fire that David Ortiz had it engulfed in. It wasn't sustained though, and even with the positive stuff, their best work still amounted to lipstick on a pig.

Infinity was also a positive development, but it amounts to nothing if a lot of the poorly designed/realized tech ported from the ps2 days remains the core of this software.

It's all speculative at this point still, of course, but it makes me wonder what the hell was meant by the "We learned from last gen, and we're way beyond that joke this time around" stuff.

Do the EA developers really think that is good enough for Next Gen?

What a joke this is becoming!
I think this is a smart and conservative move by EA. Current gen Madden is flawed...yes but it isn't a bad game by any means. Now think back 8 years ago when we were in for a surprise at the 360 launch. That was a bad game!!! Not to mention we lost all features and game modes from previous gen. Why? Because EA built a brand new game and engine from the ground up. Genesis to PSX (PS1)... Madden 96 was so bad in was never released on PSX that year. Why? They tried to built from scratch. The only smooth transition they've ever had was from PS1 to PS2. Building from ground up has been proven risky for EA. They've put a lot into the current Madden over the last 8 years this gen and I would hate for them to start all over again. I'd rather them play it safe, give us a soild, complete game and the possibilities will be endless over the life of next gen. Just watch. IMO they just gave themselves a huge headstart on Madden 15 which will probably be the first true next gen version of the game. Consider Madden NFL 25 a great foundation for a new beginning. Much better than Madden 06 was.

You can't be serious... people set the bar so damn low. I would LOVE for them to start all over again.

Step 1) Get the rules of the game implemented properly.

This actually would make sense considering Kolbe is leading next gen Madden so its possible. However, based on Madden's track record it seems nearly too good to be true.

So now Madden has a secret 2nd team working behind the scenes on the true next gen game..

Love this forum.

Maybe not a second team but what if madden 25 is a port and madden 15 is the true next gen. If the show can do it why can't madden?

Watching this makes me feel even better about not buying a PS4/Xbox One at launch. At this point, I'm good with the games I have on PS3/360 and will likely just buy a 3DS XL and play all of the great games that are available on that handheld.

So yeah, I was not impressed with this video.

Didn't they already have a team working on next gen and they came up with M25?

That is the billion dollar question my friend.. if so many others in the video game industry can do it, why can't EA?

My answer: They can and simply choose not to. The technology is there, the money is there, the time is there.

You think its easy don't you? You don't realize they would basically have to make the same game twice in one year if they started from the bottom. I don't think any company has the budget for that dude. Just because its a next gen release year doesn't mean they get to double up on stafffing. All I saying is this....I'd rather have a graphical upgrade on the same game than a complete abomination of a re-written code. engine etc. You must have never played Madden 06 on 360 huh? Man EA is still rebounding from that!!!! 8 YEARS LATER!!!! LOL

Just like the pre-render for 06. Can't believe anything these guys say. Pretty sad actually.

I'd love this, but why would they go to all the trouble for the port from current gen to next gen when they're starting over. Kolbe has been working on next gen for two years, maybe they ran out of time for this year, but I doubt it. I was soooo disappointed when I heard they weren't starting from scratch for next gen.

I understand the risk of repeating the start of this gen again, but if you trust your devs and your vision have some guts and scrap your bad code base go for an amazing modern base and build off of it for years.

They had 2+ years to rebuild with a ghost team headed up by a great dev and it looks like they blew it.

Watched the video as I'm watching the real game, lighting was WAY off IMO. The very last broadcast angle wasn't nearly as bad though. I'm just looking for a reason to buy a next gen football game and EA isn't giving me one...
