Sure we all would, but in NCAA, the CPU chooses to kick all the time. If I had my choice between the two choices we have(NCAA or Madden currently), I'd take the CPU Madden because most teams take the ball first.

If the CPU were to mix it up, I'd like the percentages be close to the NFL percentages.

Gotcha.

I also have to admit in my last game the CPU did run the clock better. They had 55 seconds to go and didn't use their time outs when in FG range and forced me to use my time outs.

Though it is only 1x out of 7 times in the same situation

This is the absolute worst thing I could hear, coming from a Game Changer.

This may be the first time on many years I sit out Madden. I'm waiting for nextgen as my hope, especially since they make a marketing stink about more AI potential for nextgen. If they don't use it, well, I can play other games or maybe, even better, see friends.

Well, I made it three quarters.

There's just nothing there for me. Looks like NHL will get a lot of play from me.

And yes, I am going to form an opinion from the demo (before anyone says anything). Retail would have to improve a ton for it to be an enjoyable game.

I was playing as the 49ers and it was 1st and goal and all the secondary defenders turned invisible until the drive was over. They still knocked down the ball, but I couldn't see them. Uh oh, hope it's fixed

The gameplay felt OK. Perhaps a polished M13, but nothing that really 'pops'. But that's what the expectation was as well -- it seemed like a game of refinement and that's what it is.

The presentation, though, is just too boring for me. Having played M12 off & on the past couple months, the missing broadcast angles pre-snap are glaring in M25. There's all these presentation "elements" in M25, but there's no glue to hold it all together. It's a nice cutscene here. Good cam angle there. Nice line by Nantz here. But it doesn't mesh together to immerse you in the experience of watching a real broadcast. It's just not enough commitment in this area. I just don't understand Tiburon's vision for what presentation should be.
I completely agree with you here and on your previous quote. Presentation has no flow to it. Whether its a replay, cut scene, stat banner. They are all isolated events with none building on each other, comparing things, pointing out things, or showing progression of your game.

As for the CPU issue, as I have stated before, I really think EA doesn't focus the making of this game on the human vs CPU audience. This is also the reason why presentation lacks.

Read a lot of impressions today and got home and played through a game with the Seahawks vs. the Packers. It isn't perfect, but this game is going to be really fun to play throughout this year and in to the next. I'm ready to commit a lot of time to an extended career and maybe even play online with other OSers.

Nah, there were quite a few people a few pages back discussing it.

Appears to be a ps3 only thing.

Played 2 games tonight. Initial reaction: Impressed

A polished version of M13 and I love it!

Likes:

Replays are back
Running game improved and it allows your blockers the chance to make their blocks
Screen passes rule (OLine trucks people like crazy)
Sliders seem similar so M13 slider sets should work
TD and big play celebration cut scenes (wooooooo!)
Less dropped passes and more passes deflected out of WR hands
On field Chatter ("You're mine number 88...")
More commentary geared with player names
Tackled QBs actually throw the ball out into the field and not look like it was dropped
Player of Game and Play of Game after game finishes

Dislikes:

Repetitious Time-out cut scenes
Option plays (50/50 chance of automatic good play)
Still no Interference calls (other penalties look the same as 13)

From what I have played, the game frankly sucks. It plays like NCAA which is a very, very bad thing. My first play from scrimmage was a read option with Russell Wilson, which I ran 90 yards for a touchdown. The next read option I ran for 50. I don't want to have to house rule this play out of the playbook...

On default All-Pro, the game seemed heavily offense based. Much like NCAA, zone defense is abysmal. Both teams players would just stand in their zone, allowing crossing routes to work all day long. Curl routes worked way too often as well, as the AI corners would take their sweet time getting back to the receiver. Seemed eerily similar to this year's NCAA.

QB's seem to be way too accurate as well (hey look, another similar feature with NCAA!). Myself and the AI QB both finished around 80% passing, with a few missed bombs and hail mary's.

The running game minus the read option played pretty well though. The defensive line fairs better on straight run plays then they do in NCAA. It seemed pretty good actually.

Verdict: Meh, thank god I'm getting Sunday Ticket with this.

The problem I had was when I adjusted sliders it set the difficulty to rookie. (PS3)

Hopefully this doesn't happen in retail.

I did notice that QBA & injury sliders clearly worked. Fumbles were also toned down when I put them at 50.

Overall after three games I can say I'm looking forward to Madden.

Have you tried adjusting sliders in game? Some people can play with out of the box slider sets, but most need to find a set that plays to their level. I recommend All-Madden next and if that's too easy start adjusting from there. You can't say a game "sucks" if you're not willing to make it cater to your playing style.

For the option plays, that might be tough to crack...we'll have to wait and see.

Even though it says rookie after adjusting, it keeps your settings.

Sliders my man. Play around with them and you should see a rush with the right set.

haha good ole EA Lol. Honestly this doesn't even shock me anymore I expect it from them. I'm mean last year the bears had orange pants which they never wear. I guess if its in the real game its not in this game.

Audible system is still so messed up. How hard is it to adopt NCAA audible system where the play menu pops up with only the formations of the type of personnel you have in the game at that moment? Seriously, such a disappointment.

I'll definitely be messing with sliders, however my initial observation is pass coverage feels eerily similar to NCAA 14 and sliders have yet to fix the broken coverage in that game. I don't really want to spend hours testing in vain to find out that pass coverage is going to need a tuner or patch.

Only read the first 2 pages of impressions so I don't know whats been said...

Time Management by CPU has been fixed. Very good

I saw a defensive off sides which was nice but not knew

Played against the Pack and they passed on most plays (expected) but when they did run they shredded me (not expected)

I didn't feel Lynch was overpowered. In fact, he had 66 yards for me with zero broken tackles (may just be me bad on the sticks). Run blocking accounted for the yardage

Movement still feels a little "skaty" for me

My biggest gripe is the same as every year: I can't get pressure with a DE but, in fairness, I'm not sure how good Seattle's ends are. All the pressure came from a DT named Mebane. Don't know who he is but he was a beast.

I recall someone mentioning that the defensive pressure comes from the offenses right side. As Mebane lines up over right guard, I saw the same thing

Rodgers and a receiver went invisible for a series. Never seen that before. But, let me say this: MLB TheShow is an elite game, nearly flawless, and even in that game I see outfielders running THROUGH the fence from time to time so I'm not judging Madden on a graphical glitch.

I only care about gameplay and cpu AI

I couldn't slow the Pack with zone D but basically shut them down with man coverage and a little pressure.

Really, it was just nice to have football again. I passed on NCAA based on poor impressions. I'm on the fence for Madden. Will have to play more
