Overall, I felt like I was playing NCAA 14 with NFL teams. I had just got done playing a game of NCAA and it transitioned right into the demo. It feels too easy to rip apart the defense and on d I get picked apart. I will wait and see, like everyone, what the retail version is like when it comes out. I'd buy it no matter what because it's tradition.

I think JPdavis said there will be four camera options including the same camera from last year.

APparently this is just for the demo.

Has anybody commented on how broken the Skills Trainer is? Like... it's REALLY broken...

First thing I noticed were defenders not loading ! Only their shadows ! It happened 3 times when I tried to play ! Also had a defender go invisible when making a tackle ! So far, that's my only issue with the demo !

True, no doubt, just I haven't experienced any weirdness, yet, but others have, so, it's a bag of mixed results.

This feels nothing like NCAA lol

The gameplay is so fast even on slow.

Camera angle is horrific.

Its pretty decent and will be better with some sliders.

But this is not like NCAA at all to me. I'm in love with NCAA.

After playing the demo,I came away unimpressed.

What I did like....

1-graphics seemed improved, much crisper and colorful
2-some of the presentation elements were nice...I was playing as the Packers, and the starting HB got injured, and it showed him running into the tunnel...nice touch there.
3-Commentary was a bit better as well.

Unfortunately that's about where it ends for me.

My dislikes....

1-camera view....yes I know we can use the original Cam,but to give us this only view in the demo is ridiculous...I have a headache after playing the demo.
2-lack of penalties....again. I upped holding,OPI and DPI to 100,and only had 2 calls all game....holding btw
3-IE2?...IMO,this is better utilized in NCAA 14.
4-Oline Dline interactions again IMO are better in NCAA

Overall, this is nothing but a $30 game to me,I did not see anything that warranted a $60 price tag (imo)

Again, some nice touches, but not enough. When I played the NCAA demo, for me it felt really good, playing the Madden demo? ....I didn't get that same feeling....all it left me with was a headache.

I'm going to stick with NCAA,pick up GTAV...IF I get the NFL itch,I will pick this game up in November or December, when the sales are at there best.

I would say that late game cup is better in that they don't just run out the clock when they're down. But that's the only way I've seen it better. I've seen misuses of timeouts, the same 1:01 timeout glitch that's been there for years, horrible clock management, and moments where the ai is completely confused on what to do. An example would be where before the half the team completes a pass, goes into hurry up and just stays at the los until the clock runs out. Hopefully it gets fixed for retail. It won't deter me from getting it but it bothers me when it happens on a regular basis.

Good to know. I'm not as informed as I should be, because I've tried to avoid the Madden forum of late.

Certainly don't blame you.

PS3 version is horrible. Skills trainer does not show tutorial. I played one half and there were 10 penalties. The new camera angle is terrible. To start the second half the kicker would not kick off, the whistle blew like 20 times and nothing happened. Finally had to quit.

Still haven't seen the negative of CPU end of half TO's, but others have.
I would like the CPU to mix it up on what they choose.

I am enjoying the demo but it doesn't set itself apart from NCAA '14 IMO...

When I transition from NCAA to NFL, there should be a certain "pop" that says....WHOA, OK...we're in the NFL. (I just haven't seen that)

I just have a feeling that next-gen is gonna give me the "fix" I'm looking for...hopefully (even if it just a graphical upgrade).

Needless to say, I am enjoying the demo...if you love Madden, love the NFL, purchase it - I, personally am going to wait to see what next-gen has to offer...it's not a big-enough leap from last year to earn my $60.

We can dream...

Of all things I'm confident will be addressed next gen, CPU AI is not one of them. I feel it will continue to be overlooked, provided what they have isn't broken. I think the ship has sailed on making sure those that play against the AI have a dynamic & strategic experience.

SEA R. Wilson 9/11 108 yds 81% comp 1 TD 0 INT
GB A. Rodgers 8/12 120 yds 66% comp 1 TD 1 INT

I noticed on All Madden difficulty that offense was fairly easy to move down field.

Marshawn Lynch was put out in the fourth quarter with broken ribs.

I nailed a field goal with 25 seconds left in the game.

A. Rodgers threw an interception in zone coverage and it was intercepted by Richard Sherman to seal the victory for the Seahawks.

I also had a few user sacks with my linebackers. I play simulation style football, sound defense, ground and pound offense and the occasional play action. I use conventional offense and not gameflow. This will be the first time I buy Madden since 2001.

Things I hate so far:

The physics. Sometimes it is outstanding and at other times I'd rather have animations.

Broken tackles. (Can be fixed with tuning).

It isn't amazing, but it is good. The franchise and non gameplay features seemed to have been fixed for the most part. If it has been, this will easily be the best Madden of this gen.

the fluidity is definitely improved this year around. No slowing down when your player changes direction upon making a cut where not like last year you slow down or give away angle. Graphics def more improved, the grass stains are def a nice touch. Other than that, this is really a Madden 13.5. Like I said, the game is more fluid, no more ridiculous looking tackles where 2 players collide and grind on each other while one player gets up and collapses due to the collisions caused by the Infinite Engine. Will i pick it up? nah, I'll play GTA 5/NHL 14 until next gen madden.

Why is the 360 version under 2GB and the PS3 version is just under 4GB?

# 419 RGiles36 @ 08/13/13 10:01 PM
As for what I thought about the demo, I played a half after work. I had time available to play as long as I wanted, but I just wasn't inspired.

The gameplay felt OK. Perhaps a polished M13, but nothing that really 'pops'. But that's what the expectation was as well -- it seemed like a game of refinement and that's what it is.

The presentation, though, is just too boring for me. Having played M12 off & on the past couple months, the missing broadcast angles pre-snap are glaring in M25. There's all these presentation "elements" in M25, but there's no glue to hold it all together. It's a nice cutscene here. Good cam angle there. Nice line by Nantz here. But it doesn't mesh together to immerse you in the experience of watching a real broadcast. It's just not enough commitment in this area. I just don't understand Tiburon's vision for what presentation should be.

I want to put this as nicely as I can. The inability of the engine or perhaps the desire of the dev team not to accurately model penalties after a decade is appalling.

I'm not sure how a game can say it's target is to accurately mimic the game you see on Sundays with this problem still existing.

I know everyone has their own red button issue but having the rules of the game simulated is pretty top of the list for me.
