I agree it just looks dull and lifeless idk why they went away from the deep colors they had in Madden 12, Colors had a pop to it that just made the game look so much better on the field.

No joke. That was done really well. They are in the M13 on the Vita (which runs off of M12's engine) so looks like I'll just keep playing that game for another year.

All I know is if they don't return, and with even more additions for next gen, it'll be a complete joke. All those high textures and graphic enhancements won't be taken to their full potential without realistic presentation imo.

I've been enjoying these videos and for the most part think the game is looking good. However, the challenge in the Cardinals and Rams video around the 10 minute mark is ridiculous. I was hoping that sort of stuff would have been fixed.

# 127 infemous @ 08/02/13 05:02 AM
Wow. At the 17min mark in the Cardinals vs Rams game... RE Robert Quinn goes all the way downfield and covers a deep pass to Larry Fitzgerald.

This game is still full of the same old crap.

Makes me sad.

This is why I have tremendous hope this years game has a shot. I pre-oredered it from Amazon (had a gift card so got it for 40 bucks). I am still playing 12. I really want a new NFL game and Madden Share made me take a shot on M25 this year (PS3).

With edited rosters, sliders and of course classic rosters this game has a shot at being really good. I also really hope the CPU AI was tuned and plays solid like it does in M12. I am not expecting perfection, just give me the features we are seeing for M25 (Owner Mode, 32 team control again, better presentation hopefully) with upgraded AI and classic and edited current rosters and we have something we can play for a while.

Fingers crossed.

I could understand if this was the demo people were blasting, but it's not. They came right out and said this is a work in progress. Not sure why everyone is making it seem like this will for sure be a terrible game. I've never been a big EA sports football fan, but I think people are slightly jumping the gun here.

They need to get rid of that PA announcer... like 7 years ago. I was already sick of him on last gen, he just adds to the dullness and repetitiveness that Madden has shown over the years. "Peterson with the carry... 5 yard gain.. on the play" doesnt really have that NFL stadium feel. Hell, just import the NCAA guy, at least he sounds generic, so he blends in well. The Madden guy has a very distinct voice, and it just adds to that feeling of playing the exact same game over the years.

It'd be nice to get someone with a bit more emotion.

Maybe you should research this boards history a lil bit more!

We're not barking for no reason here, this is how it has been this whole console generation from EA, so these types of responses are warranted given their history with this game and its development and marketing ploys. I'm just tired of it for one, and the second issue is they need to have some heart and soul in their sports games.

I mean, Joe Montana Sports Talk had more immersive commentary and stuff from over 20yrs ago. We been begging for that day from madden since '05 and we have gotten half baked attempts as if they only have 20 people working on the game!

So, let me refresh the minds of those reading and wanting to comment on those complaining...

We love the game of football, Madden is the only game in town and some of us regardless how it turns out holds out hope that somthing works in this game to keep us playing until someone or EA gets their act together! We are trying to be constructive as possible hoping someone is reading and hearing us out to shape madden into that game we all hoped it would have been in this day and age.

Been around these boards for a couple years now, so I get it. I also said if it was at least a demo it would be understandable. It's not even a demo, it's a incomplete work in progress version. Yet people can't wait to rip it apart. I am no EA sports football fan. I have refused to buy previous madden for awhile because of their inferior football games this gen. I was a big 2k fan and they took it from me! So trust me, I know all too well about what you're saying.

Some people on here nitpick too much though. 2k5 had it's issues, most games do. Skyrim, which I believe was game of the year has plenty of glitches. Still a great game though. That's the difference, Madden doesn't make the pro's outweigh the cons enough. I think with the refined engine and gameplay and owner mode, it's more possible than ever I can enjoy this game. However I'll wait until at least the demo to really form a strong opinion.

The game comes out in 3 weeks, and there's no need to be worried at this point you think?

I wouldnt show anything like they have with all these issues most have spotted without reaffirming the community that those issues we are seeing have been addressed and the code was from an older build.

But they're not saying that and that W.I.P is just an excuse if the game releases with those issues that have been brought up in these threads so far.

Worried? haha. It's a videogame, get over it. Let me know when all the same issues are in the demo, otherwise everyone is just continuing to vent their frustrations that have built up over the entire generation cycle.

Same thing every year.
At E3: It's just an alpha build of the game don't worry, they still have four months to fix this.
EA releases official gameplay video: Don't worry it's a WIP, just wait for the demo.
Demo comes out: Don't worry the demo build is 2 months old they have plenty of time to work on these issues.

Release day comes, don't worry use these sliders and wait for the patch.

My point is it may be jumping the gun a bit to point out flaws you see that are in a earlier build. SOME of those issues may remain, some will not. I'm not going to sit here and tell you not to worry about it or have some faith in EA. I guess I'm more level headed and willing to wait for the demo and retail versions before I criticize these videos too harshly.

I'm enjoying NCAA gameplay right now, Madden is always better. With the new owner mode added back in, I have more hope than ever to find some enjoyment in this madden over the old ones.

M13 burned me. First time I ever really felt hoodwinked by Madden. I have been a staunch Madden gamer since it's inception. I like playing Madden football. Has this gen been great? Nope. But they have a few solid titles in M10 and M12.

My reason for optimisim for M25? The modes are all there that I had before. The Madden Share feature to me can be a monster game changer with the type of community we have here at OS. Also IE 2.0 seems to be far smoother than M13 judging by the feedback on NCAA 14 (which I skipped this year).

That is the beacon of light for me to get a lot of personal enjoyment out of this game.

I know there will be killer rosters created and that alone can save a game with the proper edits and slider set to go with.

I am banking on some serious turnaround back to M12's AI which was not great...but no doubt very playable. I am also banking on the UI to be functioning properly, auto subs back to normal, auto sub sliders back to working.

There were some things I loved about M13...but it was mostly a really bad game overall....and the first time I ever stopped playing a Madden game in less than 2 months and the first time I never even got through a single season.

I have to imagine most of the glaring bugs (if not all) from M13 are fixed. I have to imagine the game will play the best brand of Madden football on this gen.

40 bucks is my bet.....hope it pays off.

I just hope the same things from M13 aren't over powered again. Based on my experience with NCAA 14, corner routes against man coverage is unstoppable. The corner route is one of the hardest throws in football because the pass has to be "money" and it's one of the furthest throws for a QB. It's basically unstoppable in M13 and NCAA 14 unless you use purple zones.
