That's cool. You're going in with the right frame of mind IMO.I think next Gen will be at least somewhat better from the start but I wouldn't spend the price for a system just for Madden and expect it to be night and day compared to current Gen,which it seems some will do.

To be honest it seems many people here look at this as a big part of their life, too big unfortunately, where they'd lose four months of their lives to fast forward to next Gen release day.

Madden 25 looks the same as Madden13, same ole suction blocks on the line. I do see that it will be the year of the QB scramble, they look better than the RB in the game. The only plus that I saw was a few nice blocks down field.

Not enough here for a purchase, see you in Madden 15!

It looked good to you at one point?

Zing!

Truth of the matter, I actually think it looks pretty good considering where this series has been the past 3-4 years. Still got a long ways to go though to really get me excited about playing football video games again.

But at the same time I am an NFL fan and realize it's the only videogame representation of it I have to play. So as frustrating as all these Maddens have been in certain areas, I'm still going to shell out $60 for the only NFL game in town and enjoy it the best I can.

Fine by me. I love football too but after a while I saw that these video games made me even more frustrated.

Yea man. It's just a console. It won't go with you when you die.

And If everyone expects madden to equal the Show, dont go there. As great and authentic as that game is, it also gets very boring. So please lets just enjoy the game for what it is, a videogame.

I understand where your coming from, and its good that you take a more relax look at things and just enjoy, and there's noting wrong with that. Others want more from $60 game, and something to excite them. I can see that also.

Myself I can care less about color accuracy, but what I can't over look or accept is the over all look of the action on the field. Madden looks very vanilla to me as it has for years now. Madden lost there life and personality to the game of football this whole entire gen. It has noting at all. Its feels and looks so blah.

Also many of us that enjoyed Madden in last gen felt much more life from those games, and just want that back at some point. Its crazy but last gen had better gameplay, animations, and features. To not have the current gen surpass that simply boggles our minds. Last gen Madden was not perfect, but more enjoyable to play.

This is why some of us complain about certain things in Madden that you are cool with. We were treated to better things in the past, and its all gone now. Hopefully they can bring it back in the new gen. I'm just at the point that it wouldn't surprise if they don't.

Ya it seems that way looks just like last years edition but with camera guys at the coin toss sigh. Im gonna wait till the ps4 version for sure now might be cleaner textures and color with same old wore out gamplay.

I wish EA would make these football games from scratch, sick of the same cutscenes, animations, etc... they can't even get something small such as the text on the back of a jersey correct. I want a new gameplay experience... I just have a hard time getting into EA's football outings when year after year is just rehashed with a different UI, a couple "NEW' features and minor gameplay tweaks... It's time to move on to something that is actually "NEW"... sorry for the rant, but, I've been a fan of EA sports games since the early 90's, but now, let someone else develop an NFL game...

Relocating your team seemed pretty cool. And the Uniforms/Logo/Stadium weren't bad at all compared to past Madden created team logos.

I might just buy it for Owner Mode and skip the gameplay lol.

Ive been lurking for these past few months not really posting. Just been watching for the new updates here and there, and honestly after what ive seen so far of next gen and m25, coupled with what weve experienced these past 8 or so years, I cant come to a better explanation than this. I mean really. A whole console gen and we still had some of the most ridiculous gameplay ive ever seen in a sports game.

I really hope Next Gen will make me eat crow I really do because i want to love playing Madden and football games in general again. But I highly doubt that will be the case...sigh

Thinking back to Madden2000 I never realized this is the state my favorite video game would be in today :/

Anyway, on topic the game looks like a marginal improvement, like ive said before M25 Next Gen or bust.

I really like the new Relocation in M25. I'd rather have a handful of logos that can put into cool presentations/intros like the Aftershocks one. Hopefully in the next Madden they expand on that with more cities and more names/logos.

They just don't seem to understand in order to capture the game of football. You have to brake it down in sections, and then put it all together. Now I can be wrong and maybe they do understand , but why can't they nail it?

First thing you start with is the battle in the trenches. This is a absolute must in order to begin in replicating the game of football accurately.

Then Your work with the QB postion, Then the Rb position, WR, TE, etc etc. Truly understanding what is involved with the success and failure of each and every position.

Then you start to combine things like WR and DB interactions. What really causes a WR to get open ,or for a DB to play good cover defense. The physical battle that takes place between the two. The hand checking each other as the WR tries to run his route. Why is DB a great cover guy. It is because of his physical ability, or great athletic ability to change direction?

The timing involved when completing the pass, and or trusting that your Wr will get open, because in the NFL there are times its just trust. It's not as simple as seeing the Wr get open. It's placing a ball to a spot and hoping the Wr will get there.

What cause the offensive lineman to be beaten, or get a great block. Why is this LB such a great pass rusher but not a good run stopper.

Man I can go on and on, but in order to get Madden to where it needs to be. They really need to dig very deep at each and every position, and understand the different battles that take place on the football field.

Good job capturing the video fellas. Continue to add more. Looking forward to the game this year.

Still can't wrap my head around why they have gone away from the M12 broadcast cam angles between plays...would've liked to have known the thought process there for the past 2 years.

I know what these guys\gals do to make these games is difficult but it seems they would have a game by now that is king and once was king. I wish we could see what it would be like to have that other game around.

Look....this is how it works. After year 4 of console sports games, that's pretty much all you're getting for that generation. Sure little things here and there are changed but by that point they've gotten all they're going to get out of the console or more importantly all they're WILLING to get out of it. The developers only have so much time to work on a game that's released once every 365 days and year to year, release to release, there's just not a whole lot under the hood that's worked on.

It's not like this is going to be any different for the new consoles, so you may as well either get used to it or just stop buying these games after the 4th year or so of a console life cycle. The first couple Madden's/NCAA's/whatever on the next gen consoles will have that initial "Wow" factor of looking better and a few other things here and there but after a few years, that's all it's ever going to be.

When you have a machine that lasts fo 8 years and never gets upgraded.....you have a machine that lasts for 8 years and never gets upgraded. I would think people would be used to this by now.

This is true.....the current consoles have their limits and to expect a far better game is unrealistic. In a game like Madden, once stadium renderings and player renderings are established it will remain that way throughout the life of the console.....there will be small adjustments but overall the die has been cast and everything else will be small tinkering.

That said, what I think people do have a right to be surprised about is ongoing issues with the game that require fixes that are not being hindered by the consoles. Also, I don't expect them to reinvent the wheel at this point but (just to take one issue) the play-by-play calling in the game continues to be terrible. There's no reason why Jim Nantz should call a 1st down near the goal line the same way he does 70 yards downfield. The color commentary, IMO, is solid, but play by play just sucks the energy out of the game and has been doing so for a few years now. There's no reason why they couldn't have improved this - why they haven't done so is something that does "surprise" me.

Yeah, the commentary is very dry. NCAA, in comparison, does a great job with the announcing. What makes it in Madden so bad is Jim Nantz's play-by-play....and it's not about Jim Nantz but how robotic it sounds. Beyond it being flat, you can clearly hear how the split between one comment and another. Last year in their NCAA video podcasts the devs talked about the "stitching" technique they were working on to make commentary sound fluid (as in the podcast example, when they give the score for both teams at the end of each quarter.....stitching got rid of that audible pause). Nantz's play-by-play needs this stitching in a big way. If I get Madden this year I'm just going to turn the commentary off.
