NBA 2K14 News Post

Last year 2K Sports started up their Community Team-Up Program for NBA 2K13, giving the biggest NBA 2K fans an exclusive look at the game. IpodKingCarter, Chris Smoove, KSpade64, vannwolfhawk, ShakeDown and sma11z99 all accepted their invites, while Da_Czar declined and Shady00018 couldn't make it.

2K Sports has just started up another Community Team-Up Program for NBA 2K14. It would be great to see someone from the OS community get in on the action.

With that said, speak up now. Who are your recommendations?

But really...I want someone who will get in there and advocate for ASSOCIATION MODE! that mode has been untounched for so long i would like to know the news regarding it!
ASSOCIATION MODE, u want me in there as I am a hardcore association player and being a varsity basketball coach going on 19 years and my extensive studying and huge database of the NBA and its players, teams and stats, I've been more then waiting to make 2k and ASSOCIATION MODE the best mode in the game.

I definitely vote for you. What sucks though, is that if you were to have any kind of input on how to make association better, they shouldn't be asking for you a month before the game releases.

This is true, among the many things in association they need to....

1. Include the amnesty provision and also continue to incorporate the new CBA and include the "mini" mini mid level for teams over the apron and they need to implement the luxury tax apron.

2. Remove all generic head coaches and assistant coaches and replace them with real actual coaches who they have on the disk and are not currently coaching.

3. Add two distinct roles to player roles for "roleplayers". For the "roleplayers" player role there should be an "energy" role player role for guys like Chris Andersen to use an example and then also a "defensive stopper" role player role for a role player who would be called upon to defend the opponents best player.

4. Make the Prospect player role its own player role, as it is now it is considered a role player. You should have at the most 9-10 player roles (1 superstar, 4 starters, 1 sixth man, 3 role players with 2 being assigned with the distinct roles and 1 prospect.)

5. CPU trade logic so that users dont have to do 30 team user controlled associations.

6. Include technical could and flagrent fouled into gameplay and have the points system that will determine when a player reaches a certain number he is suspended a game for every point over the limit. (These fouls should be tied into the individual players emotion attribute for techs, the higher the rating the more likely he is to be t'd up and flagerant fouls tied into the players hard foul attribute).

7. Need to implement players bird rights, early bird rights as this gives teams the ability to resign their own free agents despite being over the cap.

8. They need to unlock all hidden players on game disc, overseas players and players on the disk that have been out of the league the last 2-3 seasons.

9. Allow franchise to relocate and also implement an expansion team in future years.

10. Players season stats and career stats need to be exact and accurate as well as contacts and salaries.

I'd like to echo this, to the 2k staff. Especially since we will now have those overseas teams on disc.

I should also include that for association mode they need to give the user the ability to promote the assistant coach to the head coaches role if the head coach is fired during the season.

I want us to go, I think there's alot we could contribute, but we haven't earned the respect yet...

So I'd say QJB & Ryan Moody.
Other than the other super famous 2K analysts/commentators/simheads that will automatically be invited anyway.

Damn Eaglerock I would play the hell out of that Association! I currently play MyCareer more than Association but that would instantly changed if the things you suggested were implemented.

NBA 2k needs those things to be a true representation of the NBA.

I havent seen this posted anywhere so I figured I would ask. When is TeamUp taking place?

If they felt like participating there are 2 members here on OS that I vote for: Coach2k and Mrleaderboards. We all know by now that 2k has absolutely no problem making a game that appeals to the casual basketball gamer. Lets get people like the 2 guys that I mentioned in there, who represent the hardcore sim, realistic, and competitive members of the community.

Chris Smoove will definitely give it to the fans straight.

I hate how they take players out of the game during their roster updates. Eaglerock you got my vote.

Four or five of those items definitely won't happen (#1, 2, 6, 8 & 9) for reasons involving league approval, the NBAPA and the coaches association. Can't ask for things that are outside 2K's power, even if things may remain on the disk.

#1 - So you mean that after 2K implemented a large portion of the new CBA into 2K13, they wouldn't or couldn't be able to add the remaining elements such as the amnesty provision? If that's the case then why implement the new CBA into their game if they aren't going to implement the new salary cap changes. That only subtracts from the realism of the their product now.

#2 - Why keep these coaches on the game disk then? I'm quite sure that the coaches association hasn't had a problem with them being kept on the disk for the past 2-3 years or however long its been so why not again ADD an element that will bring the realism of the product out more?

#6 - They implemented "clear path fouls" in 2K13, and with a kinnect this year saying the wrong words during an online game would warrent a technical foul, so again why would you not ADD this element to your product to make the realism stand out more?

#8 - I can understand from a contract status with players if 2K has to hide those are not currently in the league, but it was well known that 2K had certain players on the game disk for 2K13 that remained hidden throughout the entire season despite that player being on a team roster for the entire season (example - Julyan Stone, on the game disk, but hidden, but was on the Nuggets roster the whole season). I can understand players with non guaranteed contracts and everything, but if you are going to promote your product by saying you have the most realistic rosters, then don't continue to hide players that are clearly on the game disk and clearly on an NBA team roster. The fact that Julyan Stone was hidden the whole year and Patrick Beverly wasn't even on the game disk and they created a CAP and put on the official rosters was a slap in the face.

#9 - I wouldn't expect them be able to implement this but just like Madden, it gives the whole Association mode another element (a positive addition to the mode).
