NBA 2K14 News Post

Last year 2K Sports started up their Community Team-Up Program for NBA 2K13, giving the biggest NBA 2K fans an exclusive look at the game. IpodKingCarter, Chris Smoove, KSpade64, vannwolfhawk, ShakeDown and sma11z99 all accepted their invites, while Da_Czar declined and Shady00018 couldn't make it.

2K Sports has just started up another Community Team-Up Program for NBA 2K14. It would be great to see someone from the OS community get in on the action.

With that said, speak up now. Who are your recommendations?

There are many guys I can think of as I've been impressed with a lot guys that have been in my league who I've pushed to become hall of fame level players on out of the box settings.

Most won't get much credit here but the vast majority I've been involved with I've battled in hundreds league games on 12 minute quarter games something many players don't have time or desire to do. But when you play the game that much combined with basketball knowledge the game is a ton of fun.

There are two guys in my league I would suggest. One is PSN sreckless who is the Celtics coach found at celtics.coach2k.com and the other is the coach of the wizards PSN dc_krs-202 found at wizards.coach2k.com.

These guys know basketball and can play the game. Both would serve the community well.

Going off of the work I am familiar with from the PS3 Bedwardsroy would be an awesome addition to the team, as well as Eaglerock and his knowledge with all aspects association.

I'd love to go and I clearly don't hold anything back when it comes to gameplay...but I they really need to send some OS vets up here like
alabamaRob knows his stuff (we were in philly league together

Boric allstar knows his stuff too (we played a lot of games as well

and plenty other people too. besides Vann everybody else that went last year just basically plays MyPlayer it seems (chrissmoove plays myteam as well)

we need people to get on them about actual gameplay not people who want to create players and try to score 100 points every game with their my player

So I figured out who as a whole fan community should go and I'll do it as like a team OS thing.

The Roster Guys
-VTCRB
-Bedwardsroy19
-Hyperballer21
-PJT8405
-Paul Pierce_OS

Playbooks
-Vannwolfhawk

Sliders/Gameplay Reaction (as in animations and etc.)
-JasonWilliams55
-mkharsh
-JerseyReign
-Optiik
-alabamarob

Accessories/Shoes
-SeanBarkley
-Angel_G
-Rondo is God
-w1seghost

Association
-Eaglerock

Arena Atmosphere
-Ronyell (can also be Association)

Classic Teams
-RayRay34
-Sellaz32
-PortlandBlazer

I also would love to see iAmLillard, Shady, Hawk23, Razor, JaoSming, and Andrew from NLSC to add some PC love to 2K.

And since people like to plug themselves...

...nahhh, I'll just pass the ideas later on. I'm just a "kid"anyway, like I deserve to go to Novato to see 2K14 anyway. The 25 names I just mentioned are the top of my list in terms of who deserves to help improve the game.

I couldn't vote for Bedwardsroy, yes he's stayed on top of the roster needs, but it seems he's gotten too edit happy with players that are already currently in the game. That just opens the door for being bias, and some of the edits I've seen, seem to be that.

My vote
Smoove - his insight can't be missed, and his word in the 2k community holds too much weight.
Shakedown2012 - His passion, and ability to break down the subtle parts of the game is priceless.

To whomever makes the trip this year, I'd suggest to attack the issues more, instead of being in awe of the experience and letting so many things go by. Don't be so submissive with some of the excusives the devs give, you guys are reppin for us, demand clear answers to why things are not how we expect them.

Wut? Don't understand this comment. "He's gotten too edit happy with players already currently in the game."

Speaking of players that are already in the game that have been adjusted by 2k developers (statwise), there stats have already been evaluated, but Bed's rosters have a large amount of these players ratings adjusted, which isn't needed.

You can say that for EVERY roster in this forum. The bias ones are 2K's rosters not any community roster from here. The reason why the players are re rated is because they do not play like themselves or 2K under/over valued them to boost the overall to make causal fans happy.

OS Community rosters are more better and more accurate than any 2K roster out. Plain fact and been true for a long time.

Anybody that will focus on Association.

I saw someone vote me in. Heh, thanks, but I'm already part of VC/2K Sports, so don't worry about it. My papers are done and will be in my hands today, and I'm flying to SFO this Friday. Saturday's going to be my first official day at the office, and I sincerely can't wait to meet the people that are picked to represent the community. I know I may have talked with some of you in the past both here and over at the NLSC, but this is going to be a whole different experience.

# 93 Vni @ 07/23/13 06:00 AM
My vote goes to jersez and jerseyreign.

But I'am done hoping for a very high quality product.

If you guys can at least make sure there are defensive counter animation for most offensive moves (wether it is shooting animations, up&unders or just isomotion, inside contact) and that spacing (no more random cutting) and passing (terrible passing animation, passing speed) has improved that will do it for me. Also has player movements improved? Are we still stuck on so many animation on the perimeter? Do defenders still trigger wierd and annoying different stances to the offensive player with the ball?

2K14 will be another good game with great attention to aesthetic details and mediocre attention to fundamentals and rosters and the usual lack of polish.

I don't think there is anyone in our community who won't tell you the truth of what they saw fam. Seeing a game early is difficult on many fronts. For one you don't have the luxury of having the old game to compare like you do at home.

Also consider that at these events you may not be able to play the game at your favorite camera angle or play with a team you know the best.

Also a LOT of stuff your seeing is brand new, so it makes it difficult to see what's new that isn't working. And some old stuff that you initially think IS fixed after playing for a few weeks you may feel differently.

Plus it's the new version of the game you have waited all year to play... There is a bit of inherent excitement there.

If you combine all of that with limited playtime guys are truly giving their best opinion at the time.

Plus if they are still working on the game after our guys leave things can always change for better or worse.

Agreed, all true, there are many things in play when in such situation.

What most of the conspiracy theory people fail to understand is that the members arent even handed a complete version of the game, they interact with a very limited portion of it, like a demo but of a much early build.

There were people wanting to "hang" the members when they probably were given a very close version of the demo that was played in gamescon and that later was also available to us all as a preview of the game. In such builds it was hard to identify (I know I didnt) any of the issues we later acknowledged, and we only did so after many hours and games and modes played.

If the devs are truely gathering info and willing to try and further implement the corrections/suggestions, these events are very helpfull.

I think that 2k does a commendable job of trying to appeal to both markets: sim heads and casuals, but I would like to make a suggestion tho. I would like 2K to do 2 separate events as those 2 markets are quite that distinct. As I have said before, there is only so much that a sole sim (or casual) representant can contribute, such mixed groups would be no better than a dev trying to gather info from the multitude of threads (even if many are usefull) here at OS, the message is that diluted.

The message from those very specific communities should get more clear if the groups are focused. So here is to hope for that and for what Chris (LD2K) said, about being able to bring those groups early on the dev cycle so some of the suggestions/corrections can be implemented.

Honestly, If they can pick up one person who's capable of giving the 2k developers some in-depth insight on what needs to be tweaked next year for us online ballers, I'll be happy.
I'd love to play in a 100k tourney.
