NBA 2K14 News Post

Last year 2K Sports started up their Community Team-Up Program for NBA 2K13, giving the biggest NBA 2K fans an exclusive look at the game. IpodKingCarter, Chris Smoove, KSpade64, vannwolfhawk, ShakeDown and sma11z99 all accepted their invites, while Da_Czar declined and Shady00018 couldn't make it.

2K Sports has just started up another Community Team-Up Program for NBA 2K14. It would be great to see someone from the OS community get in on the action.

With that said, speak up now. Who are your recommendations?

"Team-Up" program should really improve the Team-Up mode... If you get my drift.

The thing that irritates me the most about this program is that the people you bring in would most likely suggest for the things that they only care about such as animations/1vs1 improvements. How about grabbing people who are actually fans of a particular mode and asking them how they feel about it. I've been a long time Team-Up player, and I've had over a dozen improvement ideas for Team-Up since 2K10 (don't search up my posts though, I have those ideas on other sites). If I can spend one day to speak with the devs who work on Team-Up, I guarantee it'll be 10x...f*** that.... 100x more addictive.

Vtcrb, I think he kind of answered that already ...

That being said the dev team is extremely passionate about their jobs and visit this forum frequently. Just because something doesn't make it in could be for multiple reasons but maybe its not high on their priority list.

...

To the bold above - They are utilizing it o their fullest potential by marketing to guys who have huge fan bases and will help market the game for them. Genious really when you think all it costs is a few thousand dollars in flights and room for 1 night.
I mean, they definitively must be aware of those known issues that have plagued the last 3-4 versions (due to our representant, the multiture of threads, etc) and that they become a priority is rather dependant on other factors beyond of how annoyed are we or how much do they want to resolve them.

It can be as simple as such issues not translating into dropped sales or as complicated as having to redo their entire core and game structure or even as banal as being tied up by a budget.

I would love transparency, I would really appreciate if they would say something like physics implementation is a 2-3 year process that would only make an entrance once fully programmed ... or like buying new servers is out of our budget unless we do as well as last few years, for a couple of years more ... or even something like we are sincere sorry that we overlooked adding players that made it to the NBA, even if some were already in the disc.

Then again, how much does transparency really helps them, they exist mostly to do business ($) and are competing in a market (even if EA didnt release a game for 3 years, they still were/are there) that is all but overlooking them. I mean, take a look at what Live is claiming to be offering (signature offense playbooks and defenses). No long ago, there was a thread discussing modern defenses and asking 2K for their implementation, if adding those distinct modern defenses werent on 2K priority radar, they must surely be now. Transparency serves us but not as much them.

Thats why I am no longer fed up, because I understand ... but due to those same reasons I have also understood that we can make our issues and claims matter as a business decission, best case: XBOX ONE. Then again, the only thing that fueled such decission by the market was that there was a worthy competitor.

I wish 2K would just integrate more community members (one sole member, albeit the greatest, can only contribute and make the devs/company understand so much) early into their dev cycle, to try to correct the many recurrent issues and implement some of our repetitive suggestions but ultimately, as a videogame bball fan, here is to hope for a good Live game that enhances our worthy options and allow us to express our disconfort with either game/company, like many of us did with the previous case I mentioned.

Ronnie2K and I are going to try to increase this program to have members up here twice a year. The dev's would love to sit down with OS members and talk nitty gritty details and I wanted to provide that opportunity for this community in the future. Basically, if we were to expand this to March as well - there would be time for lots of input on the current project - where we would love to bring in a "team OS" group.

For now, the team is looking at guys who help promote the content and discuss, well, some surprises we have in store for all our fans. More on that later. I'm very happy that we can bring in these guys to provide feedback and talk about some of their future interests in the series.

We have some surprises for everyone.

Respect, and thank you for clarifying the purpose of team up. Even though you could have just left that topic alone.

Not sure if this has been mention but please update the standard rosters where now after editing and acessorizing......and setting the rotations they can be carried over to season, asscociation modes without the need to redo rotations. The main roster based sould be universal throughout any mode.

Guys here is what I have sent LD2k via PM to mention IF they havent already Fixed or mentioned these issues. I know there are alot more things, but these are CORE things wrong with a few suggestions mixed in. So whoever goes from OS, maybe you could bring them up in Face to Face with 2k guys.

1. Address Association Mode

A. Better CPU Logic in Player Signing, Drafting Players and Rotations.

B. Implement the CBA rules(if legally possible)

C. Make it Possible to Promote Assistant Coaches(Hate Generic Coaches). Give us the Opportunity to Sign Assistant Coaches from other teams. Also make it Possible to Edit Coach Ratings in Game.

D. Bring Back FULL DLeague with REAL Players, or Make it Possible to Edit DLeague.

E. Let Rotations carry over to Association and Season Mode.

Create Options

1. CAPs and CATs need to be able to be DLd off 2k Share with NO Glitching issues

2. Create a Coach Mode

3. MORE CAT Team Slots

Roster

1.
Up to Date Rosters and Contracts when Game releases and in Roster Updates

2. Add Complete Classic teams

A. Get rid of Celebrity teams, save $$$, very few use them

B. Get rid of Duplicate Classic teams(too many Bulls teams)

3. Make Euroleague teams Playable in ALL Modes and make them Editable.

EDIT: I also meant to suggest : Also need a Listing of what EACH Attribute and Tendency effect in 2k14

1. We understand its a business. Please dont forget the hardcore fans that recognized a good product, supported it, kept it alive when it wasn't status quo and provided an opportunity for casual fans to see the light.

2. Two sessions with one in March (in regards to shaping the current project) would be better for the "SIM" community IMO. Going with youtubers for exposure for round one is understandable.

There are sooo many worthy people and I can't in good conscience vote for myself. I'll just say that you can't go wrong with people from this forum. Internet famous has never been the goal here. A GREAT hoops game on the other hand....

No offense, but it would be a joke to invite Mr.Leaderboards.

# 158 OkayC @ 07/25/13 07:42 PM
For me personally, I never really had time to play with roster editing and stuff like that. I honestly just started getting into association, and i don't even play that regularly, I usually just play online(rarely), mycareer, and regular quick match. But I just hope that we get guys who know way more than i do about each mode individually. guys who have in depth knowledge on each mode.

# 159 tigerRon @ 07/25/13 08:21 PM
First and foremost is better gameplay

-I think 2k's #1 goal for this franchise should be the 5v5 player matchups. It is the set up with the most possibility- No AI. either on the console or online- making team up (to that extent-the passing). Playing great team basketball should rewarded.

-Strip away some of the fluff-

-Make more classic teams DLC- if they get a higher% of money, more guys will do it, more downloads.

-International Basketball feature in MyPlayer.

-More tourneys by 2k.

Lol, I agree. Someone that purposely exploits the game should not be awarded for the way he plays. I know some people say he could help, but I doubt it. People don't learn how to exploit and learn all of the "gimmicky" things in 2K in a day or so of having the game. Let alone the little amount of time he would get to play if he actually went. Also, people that don't exploit the game can just as easily tell the devs how to fix the problem.
