Played the 360 version (PS3 copy still in shrink wrap) for a while tonight and there is nothing I can say at this point that hasn't already been said.

If you liked NCAA 11, 12 or 13, you will enjoy 14. A lot. If you don't care for EA's brand of football, 14 won't change your mind.

I fall into the first camp and so far, am really enjoying NCAA 14.

Played one game using AA across the board and defeated Miami (Fla.) with my Seminoles of Florida State 23-3. I'm using the Zoom Camera which adds some difficulty to the passing game. It was too easy to play defense, though, as Miami had negative yards for the contest.

Next up was Nevada (me) at Fesno State, this time with CPU offense set to Heisman. I think that is where I'll end up staying. Game was 3-0 in the 2nd quarter (Fresno ahead) when I had to turn it off.

I haven't touched sliders and don't plan to. In my first game, Miami completed less than 60% of its pass attempts, and in both games, I saw several overthrown or missed throws by the CPU.

Some random notes:
-Players have more weight to them and it feels good.
-The run blocking is a nice improvement.
-The post-play animations are a mix of new (tossing ball to the ref) and old but overall, very good.
-Visually the colors pop and fields/stadiums look great.

I don't see how this game won't go down as the best of this console generation. I'm looking forward to playing more games, checking out Dynasty and just having fun, because in the end, that's what this hobby is all about.

I can honestly say this is the one NCAA game I've ever played that's gotten better as I've played it. I'm having a blast.

DJ leave the PS3 in the wrap and returrn it. Yes it plays fine but pales in comparison to the 360 version performance wise. This is just my opinion

Finally picked up the game last night! Only got one game in, but I plugged in Pasta's rosters and Charter's Heisman sliders (TOUGH, as you'll see)

Having been educated on ease of shotgun running, I decided to do only "ask coach" play-calling. I'm sure it will get patched, but I've made the conscious decision to enjoy the game and ignore exploits. Boy, do I wish I had exploited the CPU, haha.

I also have a lot to learn. Ohio St (me) @ LSU; 8pm kick-off in death valley. CPU ran the ball at will on me, Jeremy Hill gashed me for 200+ yards and 3 TDs. LSU had 300+ yards on the ground and won 48-10. My offense had 174 yards.

I would chalk this up to a steep learning curve for this years game. I plan on doing the exact same match up after work tonight and will see how it goes. Overall, I like these sliders! I might need to nerf them to stay a little more competitive.

Now about the shotgun running:

The O-line is getting a MAJOR push on the D-line for these runs. I suspect it has something to do with the way the option attack was programmed this year (because, I know how hard it was to run any sort of option or shotgun run the past few years). I suspect a simple tweak by EA will get it back to even, but we'll see.

Still not fully in football mode, myself, but I think this will turn out to be a good purchase and the game will get well-refined with a tuner and patch. Love the new stat overlays!

Started my franchise last night as well. I don't care what the haters say, this game is amazing to me.

While I have heard about the issues, I'll open the game. I got the game for both systems because, like last night, my wife watches TV in the room where my PS3 is hooked up, so it's nice to have the option to play on my 360 during The Bachelorette or whatever it is she watches.

I said I wasn't going to buy another NCAA early again, but I played the Demo a week ago or so and was impressed with some of the things I saw.

I've been playing on PS1, PS2, PS3 since the late 90's and this is the first year I decided to purchase an NCAA game for my 360.

I played four games last night. I'll preface this by saying that I try to focus on positives. I'm only 23, but I don't have enough free time to sit and nit pick every little thing about a VIDEO GAME. I try to look for if a game is fun and then go from there.

Georgia at Auburn (Play Now, Heisman)

Illinois at Navy (OC Dynasty, Heisman)

Navy at Iowa (OC Dynasty, Heisman)

Western Kentucky at Navy (OC Dynasty, Heisman)

I won all 4 games, but they all felt like four completely different games. The game is just a lot of fun. I haven't been in this forum much lately so I don't know if the norm is to be positive or negative, but there's nothing I've spotted so far to make me feel otherwise.

Defensive backs play the short curl routes better and in general they are more active at swatting balls and getting back into position when receivers put a move on them.

Running backs fight, even when going to the ground. I rolled off a defensive lineman and back to my feet to scamper for another 15 yards last night. It was very much like Mike Dyer in the 2010 NC.

The offensive/defensive linemen are some of the best I've seen so far.

I could go on for a while, but in short, the game is a lot of fun and I was seriously considering using some sick time for work and not coming in today. I woke up itching to get back into my Navy OC Dynasty.

The recruiting is very streamlined and I love that. I have to get a lot of my gaming in late at night and recruiting in between games could be a serious snoozer. Now I can follow it as if I'm a fan of my own team, but also be in control of the direction that we are recruiting. I'm in favor of any changes that help get me back on the field and spend less time looking through countless menus and meaningless statistics. I'm also glad the shortened the offseason. Things like this should really make things better for Online Dynasty players too.

David Pollack is a very welcome addition. At this point in time, I barely pay attention to in game commentary anyways so I don't even know what's going on with Herbstreit and Nessler (too bad we can't get Musburger commenting on attractive women, right ? )

Look at me go. I said I was done and I just kept on rambling. One last thing and I'll be done:

Nick Marshall isn't listed on Auburn's depth chart, so the game is broken and I'm e-mailing EA as we speak since my Gamestop won't give me a refund.

I think the biggest issue I'm having is the non-existent HOLDING CALLS. This has to be addressed.

Lack of penalties does suck. I might have seen one flag thrown in all of those games. I saw someone on Twitter say they witnessed an offensive pass interference. I'm always afraid to mess with penalty sliders, but I may consider.

I'm just reallly happy to have additional running plays and formations from the gun. I always tried running a Malzahn like system in the past and either the playbook was extremely limited or my running backs were glued to offensive tackles on any play not called a HB Draw.

The speed burst addition is legit. Now you can actually run toss/pitch plays from the shotgun and get to the outside with a speed back.

I'm really enjoying the game so far. IE 2.0 is amazing! They just need to tighten up online servers for ps3. I've played 7 online games and 3 of them had a dropped connection.

If a patch addressed tightening up zones a little bit, adding more fumbles, and fixed penalties, I'd argue this to be one of the best football gaming experiences ever.

Also CPU run defense needs to be tighter.....Human rush is too easy even with lower sliders!

Heaven help you if both teams have zero turnovers at halftime (which is the case with me almost every game). The halftime show will only focus on the lack of turnovers. Pollock will say something about the "strip stick" or "hit stick."

Come on guys. If its a close game or a blowout, I feel like there are more things that can be talked about.

Crazy potential, lackluster so far.

There is a thread comparison. We all have our opinions/takes and after playing both retail copies I've come to the conclusion its not even close.

Give it time brother, I have been recently getting some nasty crashes right at the end of games and there is a real bad slow down that happens sometimes when CPU/user score Tds where no cut away scene showing the players comes up like it usually does it just stays on the ref real awkward like. Either that or it follows the player as he runs to the sideline and the game turns off all audio. It's wierd

# 599 timmg @ 07/11/13 04:18 PM
Jus experienced the really bad slowdown on the 360 , i have both ps3 & xbox,

# 600 PVarck31 @ 07/11/13 05:21 PM
Sucks it seems to be better on the 360.

I just need zone to be tightened up. I'm not having a huge problem playing defense, but the cpu defense can't seem to cover the middle of the field to save their life. Its like the Red Sea parts on almost every pass play. It seems sliders help a little, but not enough. I don't want to implement house rules on throwing slants or slot/TE posts. I'm hoping for a patch soon.

Other than this, the game has more positives than negatives imo.
