The more I play the more I feel like this is the same old current gen EA football title. The same strategies work. I find myself getting into the same gameplay habits. I'll play it for my football itch but at this point bring on next gen Madden and the ignite engine.

It's been posted that the actual disc retail copy came with a patch and two tuners.....so maybe some of the quirks are fixed I'm hopefull even the DB glitch....
I've kind of gotten confused as this thread went from "best ncaa ever" to "broken."
LOL after 10 years on OS nothing changes in that department. Every release is like that but NCAA seems to be the worst at it. I knew with the demo comments about how the game was perfect that it would backlash quickly.
I'll get the game tomorrow, but I'm expecting it to be not as awesome as everyone said the first day the demo dropped, and not a game killing glitch fest either like we've been doing on here for over ten years. Hype works both ways. If you enjoy it, good enough.

No it didn't........I had the retail version since last week.....only came with a tuner, the exact same tuner as the early release season ticket. There was no patch yet.

Just popped in my retail version and only had to download a tuner. It was a little weird not having to put in online season pass code. Im 0-2 online. Cant stop run in 3-4. I see what guys mean by dive shoestring tackles, but to me its not as bad as people have said.
The tuner that has been downloaded for both to this point is the exact same. The release day tuners and patch are for retail only and won't go live until tonight. Retail doesn't "come" with a patch, the patch only works with retail so it hasn't released yet.
Im a big 3-4 guy though. From what Ive seen I may have to switch to 4-2-5 or 335 stack base especially since it seems 95% of playbooks has spread option. (exaggeration.... i think).
They have all out punt block and punt block safe man backwards. When you go for the all out punt block, NOBODY gets through the CPU offensive line. However you use punt block safer man, at least 2 or 3 of your defenders come through the certain of the line, with 2 of them coming within a yard of the punter.
And if you use regular punt return, nobody gets through the CPU line at all. So why is it only on punt block safe man does your defenders get through the CPU offensive line on punts ?

I don't know if it's just me but slow QB's seem too fast. I was playing against Memphis and their QB only had 59 speed but when he ran it seemed like he had 70.
Really been enjoying the game. Lost both games as my TB team.
Did have something odd happen. I was playing against Navy (option team) and the entire 4th quarter (only up by 3) they ran the triple option and handed it to the FB everytime. I started calling goal line defense and pinched my line in and crashed them down and they still went to the FB on every single play. They didn't get one first down once they started that and they never deviated from that plan.
I have no idea what caused that. It was a close game and their FB hadn't been killing me. Odd.
I've been enjoying this game (on PS3), but I'm not sure if I'm going to get it this year.
I really like the cuts you can make with the left stick, and it sucks going back to 13 and not having that. But passing is still too easy at times. Certain routes like Corner strike are way too easy to hit.
One thing I haven't enjoyed is the speed. I don't mind that the game is noticeably slower than last years, but there doesn't seem to be any breakaway speed at all. I get caught a lot in runs. I have the threshold set to 0. Am I doing something wrong?
If they tighten up the defense this game would be even better and I already like it a lot. If they would just allow a four man pass rush it would help alot, but not like the past couple years where DB's are psychic or DT's have twice as many sacks as DE's
Just had something cool playing as a teambuilder team called North End they showed a group of my fans with "N" "E" "#1" written on their chests. I have NE set as the short school name so its cool their incorporating that in the presentation package this year.

Agree. You can't tell the difference between have 4, 3, or 2 d lineman.
You should be penalized more for not running offensive plays the way they were designed as well. Example, a passing play with a 5 step drop should require you to throw the ball pretty close to the time after you complete your drop.
