I hear your point and I think it's a valid one. I personally rarely play online so sliders are fine with me. So I think it depends on your perspective and what you want to get out of the game.

BUT... if you're predominantly an online player then I absolutely see your point.

And that sucks considering where video games are headed. Me and my friends play each other exclusively online and I enjoy playing against other PEOPLE. Not a computer. Just something about knowing I've won a game against a real person that gets my adrenaline going.

Same here bro !! there is something about beating a human opponent that gets me going to ..It's the whole chess match part I love about playing a human opponent ..I go into playing these games knowing that there will be flaws here and there because it's absolutely impossible to emulate any real life sports game into a video game

I'm somebody who started playing these sports video games well over 30yrs. ago ...Soo I can appreciate how far they have come and I refuse to complain about much

People complain about bad defense in this game, but college football has become much more of an offensive game and I know for a fact !! that if this game was more geared to better defense as opposed to offense "EA sales would go down 50% and there would be even more people complaining on here"

I will keep this brief. If you enjoyed NCAA 13 and are cool with EA Tiburons interpretation of simulation football you will definitely like/love this game's additions/refinements.

I did not encounter anything out of the ordinary, but I only played one game in the new season mode.

S. Car vs UNC, I lost 10-34 playing on Heisman difficulty and 5 minute quarters. I had difficulty containing there medium/long passing attack and QB reads. I did well on offense, but had 6 turnovers being a little lose with the ball; 4 INTs and 2 fumbles.

If I have any concerns/negatives its that I (me) think I am tired of football games similar to the FPS shooter genre. I have played to much of both and it all feels the same and I don't get giddy like I use too.

I would have to agree with this. That's why I enjoy the sliders because I can make it as difficult as I want that way. But I don't play online much.

It's like this with every game though to be honest. You've got the sim crowd who wants the game to be as realistic as possible and they usually play offline more than online. And then you've got the people who really enjoy playing online so they learn to play the game "out of the box" without sliders and mods. The Tiger Woods series is a great example of this as well.

That's why it's so important for the sliders to work properly. If they work like they are supposed to then it doesn't matter much what they give out of box as long as it's close to the game of football.

Yes that is what has driven me crazy with EAs footbaball games....NBA 2k and the Show have their warts too but the sheer amount of useful sliders and settings(that actually work) help minimize them...at least for offline.

This game isn't shattering the mold....it won't convince anyone who has hated EA Football to instantly love it.....but there is a nice little game there for the football junkie who needs their fix....provided they can work out some of the glitches an enhance the effectiveness of the sliders

It's nice to see the CPU burn me with screens early and often when I'm blitz happy, and to see their option game be effective. Hopefully that'll stay consistent, it'll make my OD much more enjoyable.

I played one game (off: AA, def: Heisman) ND at PSU and Golson had three rushing TD's against me all using the option.

Anyone know when the first uniform pack is supposed to be released btw?

Yea, I played the Atari 2600 and Intellivision also. I thought Intellivision football was so awesome back in the day. Definitely have come a long way to having blocks on the screen to having realistic players of today.

3 ultimate team games 3 people quit on me in a row after the kickoff and I don't get anything for it. What a waste of time

Just got the game today and have to say the most glaring impression is the ungodly lag for selecting a play. It lags when choosing a play and it lags to get the play call screen to appear. There's also some stuttering at the end of each play. This occurred in 12 but it was never this pronounced. It's just not smooth at all.

This is the main thing I want fixed, kills the defense, if they fix this I'm good to go, I got bad feeling this won't be addressed until August.

The worst thing about this game is that your assistant coaches seem to get hired damn near every offseason, and you don't have the ability to to choose your coordinators..

I just ran a CPU vs CPU game, Florida State at Arkansas. All-American. Arkansas won 35-0.

The stats make me go O_o..

Florida State - Arkansas
Total offense 147 - 437
Rushes 24-58-0 - 17-87-1
Passing 10-11-0 - 22-26-4
Pass yards 89 - 350

Now.. tell me something ain't up with that..

First impression was that the grass looked like something out of a Super Mario Brother's game. That was literally the first thing I saw and shook my head at. I do like the feel of this year game. The momentum when running is better on offense. But it's hard to get past the blotchy looking graphics. Unfortunately, I then popped into the team management to find that there have been no upgrades to player equipment. Shameful. I didn't buy the game last year, and now I remember why. The gimmicks in this franchise outweigh the improvements toward simulation football.

So here is my impression with 14 thus far after playing a variety of exhibition games.

Graphics D
Well, this game won't be winning any awards and def not on the ps3. Grainy textures and overall stadiums just look bad more often than not. More so in the initial game fly by. Everyone knows how I feel about the models. In an era where nba2k, FIFA, NHL, madden, the show and UFC all look amazing I find it very hard that this team couldn't ever do the same. Bad leadership equals poor performance by employees and results in a bad product from an artistical standpoint.

Gameplay A
At first I was seriously on the fence due to all the negativity about defense so I will start there. While EA NEEDS to tighten up the safety play and the aggressive CPU setting on their gameplay in regards to coverage, this area is def fun as it simply made me adjust how I play the game and now I play as the safety which is a game changer by mistake. I have a blast and the front four do their job just fine if I make the right call. So while there does need to be a patch, this is def not a game breaker and I am Gavin loads of fun on the D side of the ball. Won't go into to much here but believe me with the hits and ballhawks feature, your actually gonna have to play your butt off to hold the CPU which is fine by me. Offense...how I love you. Playing as TCU VS TENN was a true riot. Paschall is a beast and when #22 took a pistol left power I pulled off this Texas two step cut that had me replaying that baby for a hot minute. There is a lag in the no huddle but its not overwhelming Unless your the guy who requires a long stinking time to know what play you want to run and in that Caaba no huddle offense shouldn't be your cup of tea in the first place. Lots of good here and it's a blast to perform the moves. Special teams...this are needs a ton of work all for the reasons I have sounded off on numerous times.

Overall

This a good game that any college fan should pick up. Its a great game of football that has it good share of issues. But like a bunch of folks have said its for the most part patch able and take the game for what it is. If your on the fence like I was, just get it if you can as a great game of football to hold you over until madden...if you can get either one or the other, just wait

so if 1 guys tackle someone, do both players at least get credit for 1 tackle? or will tackle stats be off for manually controlled players.
