On All American, however, I made some nice tweaks that I really liked.

First of all, the players move awkwardly fast on "normal" speed. IMO, the game plays more "heavy" and players are more deliberate and smooth as animations look more natural on "Slow" speed. "Very slow" is too much.

Also, speed threshold needs to be around 20 or 30 to showcase the impact of speedy guys in the college game. It also keeps the QB in the read option under control because LBs and and DBs run down the QB much quicker.

As for sliders... I felt like the CPU run blocks were nearly impossible to avoid and break. I lowered blocking a tick or two (40 or 45) and had good results. I thought the CPU was breaking way too many tackles (especially the QB) so I upped HUM tackling to 60 or 65. Lastly, and most importantly, the CPU pass coverage was getting way too psychic so I lowered the pass coverage slider to about 40 and the INT slider to 35. This really made a huge difference and set apart the good/bad route runners from the good/bad coverage guys. The good coverage guys were sticking in the hip pocket or receivers, but the LBs matched up on a WR or the poor Nickel guy would lose a step or two out of the break (which is how it is in real life). It doesn't mean I'm going to always see the open guy or make the throw, but players are open at some point on nearly every passing play. Before I made those slider changes that wasn't the case.

At this point, those are the only things I've messed with and I loved the way it played.
I want to thank you for this post. I'm using it now while playing Oregon vs TAMU, and everything feels so much better. Plus, the problem or glitch people was having with the CPU doing no huddle and the user's play selection menu that wouldn't show up until after the play has stopped, is no longer there.

Ill have to try slow speed.

Very fun demo...that's all I can ask for.

My CB just got a pick 6, halfway down the field I angled him toward the sideline. He switched the ball into his outside hand. Was that in last year?

During the demo I have been trying to figure out all the d line moves with the r stick. I am wondering if there is a tutorial on those moves or if any one knows how to do a spin move, I have the bull rush and swim but can't consistenly do a spin move. Thanks for any advice.

Yeah, I am falling over and things like that. Lol

Until they patch the db glitch and make qb more inacurrate I won't be playing 2014 this year.

These are basic things on today standards.

I would get bored of the game just for the fact that you're playing the same 3 teams in the same 3 stadiums with the same tired rosters in a "play now" mode without anything to win or lose.

Every year I get NCAA and it gets to the point where I just don't lose in dynasty. I can never take a good team and have great games. I always have to take a very weak team, and I still win most always. This annoys me, because I can never be my Buckeyes. Anyhow, does anyone feel this game may be more difficult? I feel it can be... Although running the ball on heisman right now is easy... or that state up north's D sucks. That may be it. Hah.
Playing offline dynasties are boring to the max. I recommend finding either a solid 12 man online dynasty or starting one yourself. Competition is much higher with human users.

I will never play an offline dynasty again because it's boring and too easy.

And running the same play.

Here are my demo impressions after five or six games:

The good:

This years game feels way different compared to 12 and 13. To me the overall gameplay feels more like 11, which was my favorite NCAA of this generation.

The running feels more "organic" this year. This year you have more control over the player when running with the ball in open space. Years past the running has felt robotic.

The CPU's defense is much improved, I have to punt way more often in this years game.

Not all games are shootouts. I just had a game where the final score was 14-10 with me scoring a touchdown on the final possession. This is a nice change of pace compared to years past where every game felt the same because of the high scores that I was able to put up.

I have seen a couple of new overlays, which is a nice touch.

The IE physics feel improved to the one that made it into Madden 13. The bodies are not flopping around after they hit the ground as much, in fact I believe I have only seen this occur once in the few games that I have played.

I like how you can finally change the difficulty for offense and defense.

The new interception animations are nice.

The colors are a big improvement.

The bad:

Deep passes are still too easy to complete on certain plays.

There are still some plays that work every time.

The graphics are still too cartoony for my liking, Hopefully this will be addressed in the next generation of consoles.

This only pertains to the demo, but I wish they didn't add the fake names, they should have just kept the players blank, or just have shown their numbers like in past demo's.

P.S. This game went from not even thinking about purchasing this years version to picking it up soon after release. Great job EA!

The more I play, the more I'm liking the LOS interaction. While not perfect, it's a ton better than I can remember any version being. I'm able to get pressure, even from the RE. Love how I can attack the outside of the RT and bullrush through his outside shoulder. Thinking its a buy for me this year, but hope they don't ruin a great game out of the box with bad patches like in the past.

How many different threads are you going to post this exact post in?

Wait earlier in the thread you said zero was too inaccurate, and 5 was too accurate. Then you said the sliders don't matter.

Which is it? You also failed to answer my earlier question, on exactly what metric are you using to determine too accurate or not accurate enough?

My mistake, I saw a next gen Madden 25 vid on youtube and assumed NCAA 14 would be released on the new consoles too. Oh well, saves me some money at least, I'm in no hurry to spend $400 for a new system.

I wasn't planning on buying this game at all, and while I'm not blown away by it, it's nice to see my blockers executing their blocks. For so many years, my lineman would be solid on one play, and confused the next. After playing the demo, I think I can have some fun with this game.

For the 100 billionth time.. A fellow OS member played a newer version at E3, said the DB "glitch" was fixed. If you believe it, good, if not, okay. Either way, wait until the retail version and find out. How many times do you have to post about it before it gets redundant? The guy who played a newer build said it was taken care of so all you can do is wait and find out.

Also, how is anyone else not excited about the ball finally being the correct size!? It's crazy how much better the game looks without a blimp sized ball.

Definitely agree, engaging the tackles with ends feels much better, not like in the past when you were waiting for a random animation to play to beat your blocker. It seems like if you get a good jump to the inside/outside on the tackle you actually have an advantage and can beat him to pursue the qb.

Why is it a big deal if they used fake names on the demo? That has pretty much no effect on the game. You will be able to edit those in the final version and thankfully we still have the ability to do that.

In other words, Johnny Football is Johnny football in the game we just have to type in his last name.

That chump Sam Kellar tried to ruin it for all of us.

I thought it seemed smaller in the demo, but I wasn't really sure.

I wish I knew whether or not the interceptions in the end zone being ruled touchdowns for the defense is fixed/being worked on...I can probably get down with all of the other issues s far, but this one is huge for me. I was planning on getting this day one, however, that will have to be addressed first before I'm comfortable with it.
