After playing the demo I have decided what ever team I take over in dynasty I will convert them to a pistol offense.

So i have played a few games, and im buying for sure. A few things.

1. in the VT vs Bama game i was playing with VT. The right DT #98(i believe) on pass plays when i controlled him, if i just held down on both sticks he would push the center or the guard straight back. a good 5 yards easy no push back. not sur eif this is a demo issue or if sliders will fix without effecting the rest of the line, or if he is just good.

2. i did like on 3rd and 4 or longer the game actually felt harder i didn't know i would get it the first or not.

3. not a fan of the cord. cam to far away for me. i like to be closer to the game. I could understand wanting to see the whole field but it just seemed a little to far

all and all im digging it and per-ordering

just got to play the demo for the first time after downloading it last night. here are my thoughts:

1. i like the menus/display/presentation, it's smooth on the screen and not choppy like year's past.

2. the more vibrant colors is a nice touch.

3. gameplay is nice and smooth.

4. the new juke and tackles animations are sweet. (if there are new catching animations, i haven't seen them yet)

5. it seems they have nerfed the deep ball. i have thrown it a couple times in the two games i've played and the ball is either underthrown or picked off.

6. the cpu breaks too many tackles. i was michigan playing ohio state and ohio state's first play on offense was a pass to the tight end on a slant or 5 yard out. the tight end proceeded to run through and bounce off 3-4 tacklers who i perfectly lined up to make the play. the only reason he didn't score a td is because he stepped out of bounds after rolling through my last tackler. happened quite a few times after that where the cpu would easily break 1-2 tackles and yet when i am on offense, i go down easy.

7. cpu's ai seems off at times. one example: the cpu went for it on 4th and 11 on their own 40 in the first quarter of a 0-0 game. really?

Had one last night where my DE was able to push back an offensive lineman into the quarterback, who had pulled down his passing arm as the rush closed in. Sack. Not just a cluster-mess, but I was able to do it deliberately once I saw him back-peddling. That was just plain outstanding and new to me.

i haven't purchased a ncaa title since '09. this is the best demo i've played on this gen. i love the graphics and gameplay. the lag is the only thing that bothers me between playcalling.

my only question is how do u stop ohio st? i can't stop them. lol

Hey all.

Question here...

Every year I get NCAA and it gets to the point where I just don't lose in dynasty. I can never take a good team and have great games. I always have to take a very weak team, and I still win most always. This annoys me, because I can never be my Buckeyes. Anyhow, does anyone feel this game may be more difficult? I feel it can be... Although running the ball on heisman right now is easy... or that state up north's D sucks. That may be it. Hah.

I've played probably 25 demo games on AA/Heisman difficulty. I've won 10. It's definitely no easy win anymore.

Liked the demo, I've played about 15-20 games (All-American/Heisman) and really enjoyed the gameplay. No major bugs or glitches for me, and Braxton is so awesome to use!! I love the new option plays it really makes using a team like Oregon or OSU even more fun.
My only little dislikes would be that the game just looks a liiiiiitle cartoonish (even on my 360) and the sidelines/crowd are not realistic during the game. The improved game play surely outweighs this though, not a huge concern for me.

Will definitely be getting 14...some of my buddies I play OD with don't seem to be too interested in the game so I'm not sure if we will be playing our annual dynasty. Just joined on here today to hopefully find a solid OD for this years game. Can't wait for the full game to come out!!

My impression of the demo was pretty favorable. I definitely feel like this could end up being one of, if not the best NCAA of this generation.

Things I liked:
- The Inverted Veer Option: I absolutely love this. I think maybe because it's a more challenging read than the typical read/zone option, which when read correctly (which is not difficult at all) usually ends up in an easy 10+ yards.

- Shovel Option: C'mon it's the shovel option. I rarely end up being able to pitch inside though. The end just won't take.

- Brighter colors: This has been mentioned, but in previous games, it has felt really washed out. You can definitely tell the difference.

- Foot planting: Another thing I absolutely love. The players feel like they have more weight, and more than a few times I've been able to make some nifty moves between the tackles using just the left stick. I feel like the left stick is really all you need to make cuts. I haven't had much success using the right stick jukes, even one-on-one using De'Anthony Thomas.

Screens - They actually work this year.

Physics - Infinity 2.0 works just fine. You'll still have some wonky things happen a couple times a game, but for the most part it works.

Things that need improvement:
- Equipment/Overall details - I like little details and once again NCAA is lacking in them. Everyone knows how terrible the equipment choices are so I won't rehash, but other details are just as frustrating. Most of the jerseys, especially A&M's look like they're made out of canvas or mesh.

Kicking - I've always hated the kicking in NCAA & Madden. It is far too easy. The only time I ever miss a field goal is when it's too long, and I don't even have to be looking at the screen. This is more of a pet peeve, not something inherently wrong with the game.

Pocket Awareness - Just another pet peeve, but one problem I've always had in football games is avoiding sacks. When I pass I'm always looking down field and never see the sack coming. I've always wanted something where the controller vibrates more and more as the rush gets closer.

Lead passing - I thought I had heard this was reduced a bit, but the problem I have is it feels like the QB & WR have a psychic connection. The WR adjusts immediately as the ball leaves the QB's hand. A more realistic approach might be where there's a slight delay, depending on rating, in the WR adjusting.

Defending the Option/QB scrambles - Your CPU controlled team mates are still absolutely clueless when defending a scrambling QB. They just stand and stare as he scrambles until he get about 5 yards away from them and by then he's already picked up 15 yards.

Overall I really enjoyed the demo, the gameplay feels like a big improvement. And some of my negatives are more pet peeves than real issues with the games.

Hurris, I kinda agree with you. Obviously the game itself will look a bit different, so I am holding out on that until the final game.

I really love how much better pulling linemen are

# 872 AUChase @ 06/21/13 10:33 PM
They cleared up my one major complaint from last year: running backs getting stuck behind offensive linemen.

The run game feels good and I like the cuts and speed burst additions. I'm not one to be very critical games, I just look for a fun game.

The demo feels smooth and fun. I actually doubt I read many impressions. I'm to the point now where I can't be concerned with dissecting and breaking down every single little aspect of a video game.

I wasn't going to purchase this year, but I may re consider.

Speaking of which, I wanted to mention how astounded I was with the line play this year. The interaction isn't where it needs to be, but it's 5x better than what it was. I'm seeing a ton of pushes at the line, especially among the DE's. Finally, guys are coming off the edge with force.

Not to mention..it just looks 100x better to see a D Tackle legitimately spin off or swim move his away from a double team...rather than seeing O linemen deliberately move out of the way and give him a clear path to the QB.

I have seen veeeeeerrrryyy little "WTF" type instances on the LOS in the demo. That's a very good thing.

A few more observations:

1. On defense, I have been "stiff armed" twice now when I was still 5 yards or so away from the CPU RB. As I'm chasing him down, he sticks out his arm and I fall before I get there. Seems like a quirk with the IE...I can live with it.

2. When QBs scramble my zone defenders will sometimes just watch them run right by as they "stick to their zone." A few times, the defender backpedals a few yards before realizing "uh oh I better help." This is a legacy issue that I've noticed in years past that needs to be addressed.

3. Someone said they thought QB's were always scrambling to the right. I thought I had noticed that too, but when I started shifting my defense to the right the QB's started scrambling to the left...so I'm good with that.

4. Sliders are working. And it seems like sliders like holding, false start and clipping are not overpowered like in years past. Also, lowering the FG kicking slider to 40 for ev'one makes FG more unpredictable like real life.

5. Regardless of the situation, the CPU consistently calls a TO around the two-minute mark of the second quarter. This is odd.

6. Seeing more and more animations that make the game feel fresh. IE is definitely a welcome addition to this game.

7. Didn't play 12 or 13 extensively so I can't recall if the day-to-night cycles were in those games, but it looks good this year at Texas A&M.

8. Suction is still there when I'm on Defense. Not happening often, but frustrating when it happens.

9. Someone said they liked the game at Slow speed and I agree. It made the scrambling QBs more "human" on the run and makes animations play out better. I was scared it would make the game feel too slow but it didn't.

10. Someone also said that they felt the cpu could pull of moves at speeds without being subject to the same "laws of physics" that the game applies to the human controlled player, such as changing direction quickly without having to "stop" to plant and cut. I agree, but it seems to only be a big issue with the fast scrambling QBs.

# 876 Teddy_Long @ 06/21/13 11:38 PM
so slow speed is the way the go?

# 877 The JareBear @ 06/21/13 11:42 PM
A lot of people say that but I disagree. For me, personally, it makes the game easy and not quite up to par with what I see on TV. Football is fast.

The animations do reallllllly shine on slow though

This. I can't stand slow, like you said football is a fast game.

So are you guys planning on getting this for the ps3/360, then buying it again on the newer consoles in November? I haven't been in this position in a while, needing to put back money here and there to save for a new system. That may be too much football for my wallet to handle.
