The 'NBA 2K14 – Next Gen Reveal' segment featured NBA 2K14 cover athlete LeBron James discussing life as "Video Game James" with a digital version of himself, while showing off some of his on the court moves in NBA 2K14. All of the footage was NOT pre-rendered and shown from a pre-alpha PS4 build.

Me too. I have never liked any of the PS exclusives. I'm not saying that they are bad or anything I just grew up playing games like Halo and Forza. Plus all my friends will probably get the Xbox anyway. Right now I own an xbox 360 and ps3 and I hardly use my PS3. I mostly use it to watch Blu Rays. 2k14 will look amazing on both consoles though, especially if it is native 1080p.

It baffles me how some people just keep on defending Microsoft...they clearly have no respect for their consumers and are really trying to rape them as much as possible. I own both a ps3 and xbox360 but the online connection and DRM stuff of the Xbox One is ludicrous.

No matter how anyone spins it, or how you defend Microsoft they are going to suffer this generation unless they are going to change some of these policies. Fine they had some great exclusives at E3...but how will they match up once the Uncharteds, God of Wars, Gran Turismos etc. start launching on PS4. Last of Us will also get a sequel sooner rather than later...Drive Club...Killzone...MLB The Show... The PS4 is incredibly easy to develop for so chances are that that will be the developing platform of choice. Plus PS+ is miles ahead in their offering compared to Xbox Live.

Anyways, back on topic. I can't wait for NBA 2k14...it's definitely going to be my first game on PS4.
Mines too, when I asked which consoles people would buy 2k14 for, I asked that question because I saw a release date of Dec 31 for the PS4, and I assumed some people would buy a Xbox One (if they were going to buy a PS4 before) to skip the wait for next gen, now I know that, that was a false date and the consoles should be releasing around the same time.

I didn't ask to start a console war just to clarify, I really don't care what console you choose with your money, just enjoy sim basketball and hope 2k keeps trying to make their product better.

SO much hate for the Xbox One, but when you think about it logically and long term, it might actually be a better option than the PS4. At the end of the day it is up to each person to decide, but i don't think many casual consumers will have a problem with having to have internet on.
I agree with you, the Xbox One is not a bad console...and I'm actually impressed by a lot of what it has to offer. Plus it sucks that I won't be playing Forza 5...

The problem with the internet is...and I get what you are saying...in US, Europe and probably Australia you have a valid point. But coming from South Africa...internet is owned by a monopoly company that overcharges like crazy.

How much does your internet, line rental cost you a month? In dollars...if I may ask?

Internet prices in South Africa is high...and I'm only willing to dish out the amount of what wireless internet costs. The problem with that is...the signal is terribly inconsistent...and a good night is have 2 bars of H+ internet signal. Normally I get edge...which is useless. I'm living in Johannesburg, the biggest city in SA...and in one of the better areas as well.

My point is...that internet is a problem over here and Microsoft is alienating themselves from people like me. Sure I can log into xbox live every 24 hours...but it's a pain and if they use cloud for extra ram space etc. I'm screwed because of poor internet speeds.

Yeah, I guess I didn't realise that in some countries there is still a big dropoff in Internet speed and quality. I mean, I though that because technology is becoming cheaper and cheaper every year in this day and age, that even in countries that are poor they would still have decent Internet.

To answer your question, I'm not sure how much exactly we are paying for Internet lol since I'm 16 it's not me who is buying it, but off the top of my head I think it's $58 (AUD) for a good plan. How much would you usually have to pay in South Africa?

Including the line rental a 1mb uncapped line costs about $55 AUD. Seems similar...maybe the difference is that I have to pay it myself

And it's not only a problem with countries where internet comes at a premium. But what if I simply don't have internet at home? Maybe I'm wrong here since I'm still using some 10 years old mobile phone with no features besides talking to people, but can't you do all your surfing with smartphones anyway?

Have you read the quote by this Microsoft exec?

Are you f*cking kidding me?
Haha I have to admit that last quote was such a horrible PR move. But as I've said, the use of cloud is the redeeming feature IMO to make me choose it over the ps4. However I can see why the Xbox One wouldn't be a viable option for some people.

Can everyone get back on topic? Enough with the console vs. discussion.

Looks good.

I just hope there's more realistic and better defensive foot planting.

Which won't be available on the ps4 until sometime next year bro. Lol.

Anyway sorry for derailing the thread into a console vs console debate.

Forreal, I live in England and have friends who live outside the city in small villages or small towns and have such bad internet they can't even play me on FIFA without horrendous lag.

Microsoft proved how clueless they are with the XBox One and not only is it an inferior product to the PS4 but the politics and ethics behind it are also incredibly terrible.

I personally refuse to enter a room with an XBox One in it, let alone give them my money.

Im looking forward to seeing what type of presentation and commentary improvements the next gen brings, i mean graphics are a given, even AI, but im looking forward to seeing some of the arenas, presentation graphics, and things like that.

LMAO that's an Aussie expression man!

An 'alright' is more 'British' lol

I am too, I am a long suffering Madden player and think I will get on NBA 2k just so I can enjoy some good graphics, presentation AND gameplay...

Excited to see how it works together on Next Gen and what new features they've implemented.

Every time I watch it it looks like LeBron patting his chest makes his jersey ripple.

As if more than just player movement around the court can make the jersey move but people brushing against it too? I can only hope.

This next gen needs to be all about the lil' things that make the whole even more awesome.

Haha exactly, even here in Australia the only people who say 'gday mate' are in their 60's.

Btw, I'm not sure how the licensing works but would it cost much for 2k to buy the TNT license? Would they need to pay at all? Because that would be a great feature to add to the presentation.

The PS4 controller looks like it's gonna feel a lot closer to the 360 controller than the PS3 one did, which i definitely preferred as well.
