O.S.

Okay...Finally the time is here!

In the Vault: O.S.F.M2013 by RidinDwnKingsley
Link to file: http://www.sendspace.com/file/0pdx99

Thank you everyone for your patience in regards to this year's release.

We had one hitch towards the end....and I (we) are hoping that everything is alright with that one member.

That being said... I have to say that this year's group of editors have put together a tremendous effort with this year's version of the O.S.F.M.

I want to thank each and every member participating on the chart and from the work thread... but there are a couple of guys who I just have to mention, that went above and beyond with their effort and support.

yanksdaniel99 picked up quite a few teams that were vacant as we got into the process. It was a big help with him setting up those clubs.

Throwback and Willard76 went above and beyond to help out with multiple teams to work on faces (Willard on top of rating 2 teams as well) and especially down the homestretch when it was getting very tight

... and last but CERTAINLY not least... RidinDwnKingsley who rated multiple teams... as well as doing ALL the exporting and importing of every player for the set AND testing the set for balance.

Thanks to O.S. as well... Steve for allowing us to use the O.S. name in conjunction with the set and the mods who I'm sure dread when this time of year comes around and they have to keep the peace... and keep the threads moving and productive. They do a tremendous job.

Guys... I can't stress enough how I want to thank each and every guy who participates in the process... not just the guys doing the editing (who do a GREAT JOB)... but also the guys who provide input in the multiple threads.

Every year I am more and more impressed at how well this site works together to make this happen.

If you really think about it... it's a truly impressive process.

On that note... I'm going to ask you to think about how much time and effort these guys put in to making this work... and in doing so, deserve a certain amount of civility and respect when commenting on a particular part of the work. All feedback is welcome... as long as you present it in a civil manner.

That's all any of us ask of this.

Again... thank you for you patience and enjoy the O.S.F.M. 2013 Edition!... and

Enjoy The Show!

Ok, three tidbits/observations/possible unknowns about the top 50 icons/potential changes.

1) I think this is already known, but if a player has even a .0001 amount of service time, he loses the top 50 icon for good.

2) A player MUST be in Double A or Triple A. Have not seen one player in Single A have the top 50 icon, if you take a player who has a top 50 icon and send him to Single A, he loses the icon. If you move him back to Double A, he gets the icon back.

3) Seeing a lot more changes of potential then years past (Had 7 guys on my Yankees change letter grades, so that doesn't even count changes within letter grade tiers). Seems that performance drives potential more so then in recent years. This is good on one hand as if you have a B potential player who performs well, he can turn into a A potential player. However, something that some people may not like is this also goes the other way. Had Dylan Bundy, Jose Fernandez and Xander Boegaerts all drop down to B's.

Personally I love the potential changes this year, pretty awesome IMO. Franchise mode is certainly moving in the right direction, love the job the franchise devs are doing.

Ridins set is just the 40 man where you would have to manually have to send everyone down to get down to the 25 man for the lineups to stick.
Yeah... But there's a bug with the 25 man set. So not sure if its worth using.

Just fyi for those wanting to import SCEA's versions of JBJ, Ryu, Maurer, Fernandez, etc... they look pretty terrible (what else is new lol) so I would just stick to importing players with service time only... And for some reason Bradley Jr. is only a 59 overall which is ridiculous (although that's alleviated somewhat if you move him to CF but he's still pretty low regardless)...

My version...

Stratton(I did accidentally give him red eyebrows in ver1...)

Quickies maybe...but horrible?
Maybe my eyes are getting bad!

No problem though....your critique was certainly thoughtful and helpful!

Correct me if I'm mistaken but I thought Jeezy was referring to the SCEA-created players from the latest roster update, not the ones you created?

I think Knight is referring to a post on the previous page and not mine lol

# 768 imfletcher00 @ 04/08/13 02:39 PM
Yeah, referring to a few posts back where somebody was railing the Giants team, and cited those to pics as reference.

I offered him a place to help us improve.

Strangely silent...

How will the Opening Day V2 set of this be different than Ripner's 1.0 Errors Fixed set?

Those faces look damn good to me...

I was going to say, I knew you weren't one to put Knight on blast like that. I was just reading the last page and since Knight didn't quote anyone, I saw your post above his and figured that was what he was talking about.

# 772 Knight165 @ 04/08/13 04:23 PM
Haha....yeah the guy who put horrible in 15 inch letters. Not sean!

I'm glad it was really me he blasted and not the actual editors of the Giants.
I really don't mind....but I just thought that it was a little much!

Maybe I was looking at bad reference pics?
But those are the ones I used.

Anyway.....I should be able to start making the corrections to version 1 on ver2 starting tonight.
I'm home....feel like someone ran me over with a truck......felt a bump in the road...so backed up over me again!

Totte was kind enough to get the ball rolling in my absence and start making some corrections to the original set.
Which I appreciate immensely.

This is disappointing, my faces for Stratton and Crick were replaced in the final set. I think it was a miscommunication between Knight and I. I said that their faces were done and needed to be approved by seanjeezy. I think he thought they weren't done or maybe they weren't approved.

What did you think of the rest of the pitchers? That's all I got to. I felt Fletcher did a good job with the hitters.

I really thought that the last 2 year's I put out some quality sets. I know this year's set was less than optimal.

I've finished a re-worked roster and I was going to speak with Knight about making some fixes if there is going to be a v.2 or "opening day" set.

Here are my Crick and Stratton. They're in the Vault under my same username here. I don't know if they're any better, but it's another option for you to use instead.

Knight, I apologize for the Giant's set. I didn't think there was only going to be a v.1. I just wanted to get something out for the "Spring Training" set and I had planned to make corrections for the "opening day" set. I think you know I always pay a lot of attention to the details for the Giants.

Anyway, I have a completely revamped version for the Giants if you want to use it. Had my first free weekend in awhile and got a lot of editing finished. I am reworking the faces right now. I can maybe get this to you in time for a v.2 release. It has the correct opening day rosters and lineups/rotations for AAA and AA though. Correct numbers as well. Couldn't get those until they were announced though. Most players change every year in the minors.

I went with the June/July cut-off for ages. So that's where the "mistakes" are. Should I go with the Opening Day cutoff instead? That's a quick fix. It's too bad we can't just put in exact birthdays. Then player's could be wished a happy birthday in game too!

Let me know what I can do to fix whatever issues there are with the Giants.

# 776 Eviper44 @ 04/08/13 05:33 PM
Are there ANY issues with using these rosters?
I see there is some kind of issue with 25 man? roster, I really do not understand. Does that mean if use this Roster (Not 25 man one) do you have to go thru each team every season to fix the 40 man? does it break contracts, or is that the 25 man rosters bug???

So if I use Ridin's roster do I need to manually control the other teams & set the 40man, otherwise all those people on IR get released?

Absolutely NO NEED to apologize.
(and I'M sorry about redoing your Crick and Stratton. I didn't think you got to faces...I was rushing most likely reading all the PM's.....I didn't even look at them(or I would have seen that you did them) as I just look at a reference pic and immediately go to the face that I know fits that one best.
Hey....regardless....S.F. was still good job and there is no need to explain to anyone.....especially when I really am the one that puts it together and if I didn't feel it was right...I would have said something.

For ages...I usually use June as the cutoff. This is a minor thing as without being able to put in a birthday....it can't be perfect anyway!

Ok cool, thank you. I'll upload mine tonight and I'll update the Giants thread so it's easy for you to organize. If you don't want to import a bunch of players over again, that is cool, but the players who are missing will be in there at least...if you don't want to create new players.

Please know that I and others are aware of he fact that you do not HAVE to do ANY of this!!! I am so grateful to you and your team and so tired of those few who do none of the work yet take cheap shots. You have always helped me and others when we needed questions answered. I would not enjoy the game nearly as much without your contributions and those of others.
