O.S.

Okay...Finally the time is here!

In the Vault: O.S.F.M2013 by RidinDwnKingsley

Thank you everyone for your patience in regards to this year's release.

We had one hitch towards the end....and I (we) are hoping that everything is alright with that one member.

That being said... I have to say that this year's group of editors have put together a tremendous effort with this year's version of the O.S.F.M.

I want to thank each and every member participating on the chart and from the work thread... but there are a couple of guys who I just have to mention, that went above and beyond with their effort and support.

yanksdaniel99 picked up quite a few teams that were vacant as we got into the process. It was a big help with him setting up those clubs.

Throwback and Willard76 went above and beyond to help out with multiple teams to work on faces (Willard on top of rating 2 teams as well) and especially down the homestretch when it was getting very tight

... and last but CERTAINLY not least... RidinDwnKingsley who rated multiple teams... as well as doing ALL the exporting and importing of every player for the set AND testing the set for balance.

Thanks to O.S. as well... Steve for allowing us to use the O.S. name in conjunction with the set and the mods who I'm sure dread when this time of year comes around and they have to keep the peace... and keep the threads moving and productive. They do a tremendous job.

Guys... I can't stress enough how I want to thank each and every guy who participates in the process... not just the guys doing the editing (who do a GREAT JOB)... but also the guys who provide input in the multiple threads.

Every year I am more and more impressed at how well this site works together to make this happen.

If you really think about it... it's a truly impressive process.

On that note... I'm going to ask you to think about how much time and effort these guys put in to making this work... and in doing so, deserve a certain amount of civility and respect when commenting on a particular part of the work. All feedback is welcome... as long as you present it in a civil manner.

That's all any of us ask of this.

Again... thank you for you patience and enjoy the O.S.F.M. 2013 Edition!... and

Enjoy The Show!

M.K.

Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up. My team must have a terrible farm system then.

Is there any way to get the new player portraits from the "official" roster update to work with OSFM?

Hey knight thanks you and everybody involved in making this great roster set!!!

I've got a suggestion. For the v2, why not create a thread just for people's feedback on changes. I didn't check to see if theirs a thread that already exist.
I know it would make it a lot easier for you and your team. Just a suggestion...

I didn't see this in the first post, and usually that kind of info is in there, but there's a couple fixes files posted by ripner. Can anyone tell me what the most recent version is, or where I can find that info in the future?

It's the link in my post a couple spots above this one. He's going thru OSFM and fixing issues found by the community. He already fixed Kimbrel's 2-seamer, and a few players that had empty attributes.

He has a huge list in the thread.

My attribute fixes are just so I can start a franchise (although by the time I'm done fixing things and doing 40-mans and 25-mans and lineups I bet OSFM V2 will already be out :P) I'm really no expert but a little pitch research gave me the pitches and speeds for the missing attribute guys, but I'm sure the actual OSFM team will get those attributes more accurate than me.

I just wanted to help the team who have done so much for this community year after year in some way, and compiling this list seemed a good way for someone without enough prospect knowledge to do ratings or without face making skills, to help out.

Easiest way is just to search my username of Ripner on the Vault (Sort by creator then go to the R's), otherwise I've been listing each update in bold on the list at the point I created it, right now it's V0.3.

I'm not really a part of the OSFM team so that's why my threads not linked in the first post here.

I've been trying to find a way to get him. I like his stuff...a lot!

sean!

If you didn't start yet...load the roster and go to ROSTER CONTROL...there you can make the moves.
If you did start already.....you could only do it if you started with 30 team control. You could then simply go in and make the moves(no need to change any settings if you have everything to AUTO...it will still allow you to make the moves)

Ha..yeah...but I knew what he meant!

It's not roster related for sure.
It sounds like somehow your game is grabbing info from the online MLB.com feed("and placed Kyle Loshe") ....

Thanks Knight. Deleted everything and started fresh, seems to have solved the problem

First chance that I have had on an actual keyboard in a week...

I want to thank each and everyone that worked on this roster. The attention to detail and accuracy of this roster is amazing. Each year I put together a roster I use and that takes me tens of hours only adding a few prospects to each team. I know what a challenge it is.

This year I am rocking with these and want to commend each and every one of you. It is always great the things that this community will do for the enjoyment of the game, not just for ones self, but for everyone in this OS Community.

Thank You again....

Now go and enjoy the Game!!

are the salaries correct??

# 653 sinkdog @ 04/04/13 08:46 PM
Hey Ripner, is your new set a 40-man, 25-man or just tweaks to the OSFM?

Knight - please explain to me again how I get around the end of Spring Training flaw. I seem to have this problem every year! LOL!

there is no way to get the correct $ for salaries, but you can play around with the free agent workaround to get the years close to correct. in my own personal roster i was able to get 5 years for goldschmidt, verlander, posey and 4 for andrus. I played around with it forever and that seemed to be all i could get.

Knight, Riding and everyone who helped with rosters, I appreciate the hard work you all did. Awesome work!

It's all the fixes in my thread, plus I am working on proper 40-man, 25-man, and batting lineups/pitching rotations for the MLB. v.3 has all the fixes, and the 40/25/lineup/rotations done for the NL W and NL C

First time using the rosters, how do you upload them to the game?...

Best way...30 team control
2 profiles
1 for you (your personal settings)
1 with everything AUTO except for lineups/rotations
When you come to the last day of ST...make sure that you have everyone you don't want in a lineup sent to the minors
When you hit day 1 of the regular season....set the lineups and put everything for the CPU controlled teams(the second profile with AUTO) back to AUTO(lineups/rotations)...

From there...there will be changes...but only as the season progresses.

Guys....
Be aware that if you are planning to do a 25 player only 40 man roster....that there is a bug.

If you have a player that does NOT start the season(from a base roster) on the 40 man roster...and has a MULTI year deal....he loses the multi year deal at the end of the season and gets a 1 year deal in it's place.

I've notified SCEA...and hopefully they can rectify it...
SO....make sure anyone you want to keep a multi year deal is on the 40 man roster when you start a franchise(he CAN be in the minors...just has to be on the 40 man)

These rosters, literally make the game, and I am one of those people who run their franchises to the year 2030, and it is so cool to have real players, rather than automated players. You guys did not let me down, and I really appreciate, for Christ's sake, you don't even know any of us. Long story short, thank you so much to everyone that pitched in, you guys did a fantastic job!
