O.S.

Okay...Finally the time is here!

Thank you everyone for your patience in regards to this year's release.

We had one hitch towards the end....and I (we) are hoping that everything is alright with that one member.

That being said... I have to say that this year's group of editors have put together a tremendous effort with this year's version of the O.S.F.M.

I want to thank each and every member participating on the chart and from the work thread... but there are a couple of guys who I just have to mention, that went above and beyond with their effort and support.

yanksdaniel99 picked up quite a few teams that were vacant as we got into the process. It was a big help with him setting up those clubs.

Throwback and Willard76 went above and beyond to help out with multiple teams to work on faces (Willard on top of rating 2 teams as well) and especially down the homestretch when it was getting very tight

... and last but CERTAINLY not least... RidinDwnKingsley who rated multiple teams... as well as doing ALL the exporting and importing of every player for the set AND testing the set for balance.

Thanks to O.S. as well... Steve for allowing us to use the O.S. name in conjunction with the set and the mods who I'm sure dread when this time of year comes around and they have to keep the peace... and keep the threads moving and productive. They do a tremendous job.

Guys... I can't stress enough how I want to thank each and every guy who participates in the process... not just the guys doing the editing (who do a GREAT JOB)... but also the guys who provide input in the multiple threads.

Every year I am more and more impressed at how well this site works together to make this happen.

If you really think about it... it's a truly impressive process.

On that note... I'm going to ask you to think about how much time and effort these guys put in to making this work... and in doing so, deserve a certain amount of civility and respect when commenting on a particular part of the work. All feedback is welcome... as long as you present it in a civil manner.

That's all any of us ask of this.

Again... thank you for you patience and enjoy the O.S.F.M. 2013 Edition!... and

Enjoy The Show!

I'm not seeing Jackie Bradley Jr when downloading the rosters. Did I do something wrong? I'm new to this stuff. Thanks.

Adding my thanks to everyone who worked on the rosters. Fantastic work. One of the best things about OS, and about this game each year. And with the minors, it's a great year to be a Cards fan

Yes...you have to make sure that you LOAD the rosters.
Then you can view them.
They don't load automatically after downloading.

Jackie Bradley is definitely on the Sox in LF.

Knight, I'm trying to get the contract extensions in and I'm working with Posey right now. I upped all his ratings to 99 and use FA 3 to move him back and forth. I have only been able to get 5 years a couple of times but no more. Is there any trick to getting more years?

A big huge thank you to everyone involved. Amazing stuff as always.

Started up my Yankee franchise today.

Again you guys rock!

I know this is directed at Knight but I have some input... You don't need to play with the ratings this year, as contracts total's change the moment you enter a franchise. I have seen a player given a 7 year deal one time. I was actually only looking to get a 1 year contract but I had a hard time even getting that. Along the way is when I saw the 7 year pact. It's kind of annoying but I think you'll eventually get it. I've only tried to do this once with a created player, but I did get the 7 year...

I get what you mean about player photos but with the face generation feature this year, I don't even use real player photos in my franchise. Once I get a roster with in depth MLB player edits to go along with this minor league roster, I don't think I can really ask for anymore.
Once you download the updated online roster the updated player photos will be updated in your franchise whether you use those rosters or not. I saw Ben Francisco and Vernon Wells with their Yankees real photo on the trade block in the M's Franchise I started with the OSFM rosters last night.

First game with these rosters (I started a Colorado Rockies franchise) and my game froze in the middle of the 1st inning. That sucks....

But before I started the franchise I took a long look at these rosters and they are amazing. Excellent work by everyone involved.

Words can't describe how much I appreciate everything you guys do to give us the most realistic rosters possible.

Ya, I figured those guy's pictures would show up. What I'd like to see if it is possible is real life photos for prospects (Hernandez, Bradley, Ru) and players that spent time away from the majors (Bonderman, Tejada). This could be made possible by waiting for Monday's update, Then importing the OSFM version 2 (when finished) on to them. Is that possible Knight? Would you be willing to do this? It would make for the most realistic feel IMO.

Also SCEA made edits to some players (Dickey for example) in between the first two rosters and I read from another poster that Phil Coke was listed as a righty in the default rosters.

These rosters are excellent, thank you for your hard work everyone!

I have Oscar Taveras, D'Arnaud and Brandon Maurer on my fantasy draft team and they are all studs

How is pitching with Maurer? I was debating on whether to up his command or not...

Appreciate the 25 man effort and of course Knight and co. efforts in 2013. Quick question, does your roster have Ripners edits that he has done so far?

I have pitch f/x data for him and it might make a difference...
Thanks. His rep should be 94-95 mph running FB, 85 mph slider, 87 mph change

Try giving him a knuckle-curve, read an interview with him saying he throws a spike curve very similar to Kimbrel. He should easily max out the velo rating for that pitch and his fastball velo should jump as a result... Here's what I have for him (type/velo/command/movement):

2SFB 94.7 55 78
KCV 87.67 52 61
CIR 89.31 36 66

Of course its not possible to get the curve that high, but ~85 is good enough.

search "Alex Meyer prospect pitch" for the article, MiLB or MLB links never work here...
