Ugh...
Played my 2nd Postseason to try and get redemption for losing in the Wild Card game last time... Deja Vu, believe it or not...
This time facing the As, Im winning with 2 outs in the 9th, then Hanrahan gives up a 2-run shot to ex-Red Sox Brandon Moss to tie it...
Then in extra innings another ex-Red Sox Jed Lowrie hits a 3-run homer to win it... I am distraught right now... I think its time to try another team, maybe an NL team...
Overall it was a fantastic game except for losing yet again in the Wild Card game...
Hopefully third times a charm!
Was going back on a flyball with Adam Jones and I lollygagged to the spot, so when he looked up to catch the ball it bounced off the heel of his glove. From my limited time with the game it seems like getting in good position to field the ball is more important this year.

Couldn't agree more. Fielding has replaced pitching as my favorite aspect of the game.
I use Classic pitching. It's been my favorite for years. Most of us who loved "High Heat" back years ago were introduced to a system of pitching that had pitches miss their spot randomly.
The Show has perfected that. If someone has great coordination they can master meter pitching and pulse pitching. But, no man alive can master Classic pitching.
If you're using a scrub pitcher and try to throw a ball in the dirt to an elite hitter, it may likely drift right over the middle of the plate and you'll quickly be uttering expletives!

Maybe I didn't notice last year but I just had Hamilton foul tip a ball into the catchers glove, thought it was pretty cool.
That must be new because just like you I've never seen it. That is pretty damn sweet. This is a perfect example of a part of the game that you overlook, but when it's added it's one of those little things that adds a lot to the game.
I've also noticed that infielders have this odd slow reaction to grounders hit near them. It seems almost as though they stand still for a second or two and then make an akward dive at the ball, whereas in 12, the reaction seemed much faster and smoother.
I am not sure that this is a problem. It seems like the quality of the fielder has a much bigger impact on 13 than 12. For example, I replaced Starlin Castro with a AAA SS in spring training and the difference was noticeable. I'd be curious to hear what others think.

Couldn't agree more. I'm now going to sound like a broken record but I love fielding and you better believe fielder ratings matter. Knight and company told us as much after community day. SCEA delivered!
You better replace a poor fielder late in the game or you will likely pay.
You have to play in the minor league stadium called Bayfront center or Bayfront stadium or something like that. It has a roller coaster and a Ferris wheel in the outfield.
Even on replays the roller coaster runs. Very cool.
That brings me to a request for the Devs:
What about the possibility of more Custom Stadiums, like way out there fantasy Stadiums?
I'm a very, very sim player but would love to play a game here and there in a unique place.
Is it just me or does base running look weird. Seems like players run on a X and Y line, stiff, with no lean when running bases live, just don't look right in a game that looks this good.
I've always thought it was a little funky at times.
Sometimes looks great....others...a little "stiff".
Try to preload the next base. I believe it makes them circle the bags.

Yeah, Russell mentioned it somewhere that if you don't have the next base selected before the runner is halfway there will be some ugliness to them rounding the base.
Yeah, but this year it's definitely different. Like I said before, I don't know if it's because my baserunning slider is above 5, but they are definitely running slowly once they hit the corner of the base. Perhaps they round the bag at "5" speed this year?

This makes sense because i haven't noticed the robotic running he described. Of course, i may just have not noticed it.
The moment my batter leaves the box, regardless of hit type, I automatically pre load for 2nd base. For me, it's habit. It's real easy to tap R1 if I have to. So, my guys are almost always rounding 2nd.
Had this happen to me as well. I was like WTF when it happened. Shocked. cool to see it in the game.
Happened to me as well. Only problem was it was treated as a foul ball and not a foul tip. I had two strikes on me, and didn't strike out. Good for me, but not programmed correctly. I wonder what happens when you swing?
This game breathes new air compared to 12 when played, though not so much when watched (for example, I was watching gameplay videos before I got it, and I didn't really see the difference, but I definitely feel it).
Started a RttS today and it is vastly improved. I love the fact that they show you what's going on while its fast forwarding to your next appearance. I also love the new fielding aspect. I have to figure out where the fly ball is going myself.
Here's the problem, though. I made it to my 3rd game and I just got my third hit of the game (got an RBI that tied the game at 6 on it as well). As it is showing me on first base, the game froze. It was upsetting.
