I Pre-ordered 2 (one each for my son & I). This is my first experience downloading a full game. Can't wait for 0001 Tuesday!

Uncharted is like watching a movie and playing a game. The amount of cutscenes and the length of them are crazy..plus with GOTY you are getting every single thing that has ever been released with that game.

my prediction for the file size will be 15-20gb
Yeah, I think the included DLC is the biggest factor in that file size. Ni No Kuni is an absolutely huge game content-wise, and it's only half the size of that Uncharted download.

I wasn't comparing them, I was only saying that they do not tone down the file size for PSN. Its whatever is on the disc version, the game is the game.

It will be at least 20gb, its been said multiple times. Past The Show games have been this large and this year should be larger. Unless they changed something it will be at least 20gb.

No, I could have made it more clear. But there is reason to believe it will be 20gb or more. I can't say why explicitly, but past evidence says that is how large past MLB The Show games have been.

I'd be very surprised if its any less than 20gb.

How do we get the online pass if we do the digital download, will they send us a code by email?

I think it'll just be in the download list when it goes live along with the franchise points.

I found it listed at 21.99GB but I will not say where I saw it on this forum. All the files were listed separately. I am not sure of the authenticity of the web site I saw it on, if u know what I mean! Also keep in mind if this is accurate you will need to double the total to download at 44GB!

Doesn't mean anything for the download. Files will be compressed in the DL, then uncompressed on installation.

What previous poster is dancing around has been verified, but it's apples and oranges as what he's talking about is a release of the game cut into several 240 mb parts totalling 16.53 GB but each of those parts are compressed. I would have to pull it down in order to extract it and verify the size, and I refuse to do that even though I am curious as to how big this will be. I have freed up 37 GB on my fatboy 80. That'd better be enough. I'll know Tuesday I guess.

Not necessarily.

Ni No Kuni was recently a 21.7 total download and installed it is listed on my PS3 as 22gb. It doesn't seem like they compress the PSN files that much, if at all.

I'm glad I read this thread, because I had no idea the game would be so freakin' huge. I'm playing on an old backward-compatible PS3 (60 GB), so this is a no go for me.

# 133 dajar777 @ 03/02/13 01:25 AM
I' m going to Gamestop for it, 80GB HDD is too small for this and if I have problems the PS store does not issue refunds! Its a great deal if you have the space for it. I could only free up 33GB and I'll be playing the show til at least November.

Regardless of what the total size ends up being it's not worth the time imo. My reasoning is when I downloaded CoD: Black Ops it was 18 GB's and took about 3 hours to download.

Also since there will be quite a few people trying to get the game at 12:01 am it will more than likely slow down the download time.

So yes it's a good idea in the long run but if you want the game right away like I do I'd rather just pop into walmart get the game and start playing at 12:30.

Well that maintenance pretty much seals the deal for me getting the disc version. So know it is pretty much a given that you are not going to be able to start downloading the game at 12:01. Now they are talking about around 4am and that is if the maintenance doesn't extend beyong their guess time. Glad I waited it out to see what version I will get.

From what Sony has said it is supposed to end at 10pm EST March 4th. The link posted was in GMT. Of course it could go on later, but as of now its planned to end in time for the midnight release.

Oh ok. I think I will still end up going the disc route.

# 140 orthostud23 @ 03/02/13 11:22 AM
I keep hearing that hard drive space needed is 40gig but I don't see this listed anywhere on the PS website. Is this just a commonly known thing? Would rather dl than go to GameStop at midnight.
