Madden NFL 13 News Post


It looks like Madden NFL 13 title update #3, which was scheduled to arrive tomorrow, is 1 day early and available now for 360 users, weighing in at 19MB.

Feature Additions:

Custom Rosters Offline: Added the ability to start an offline career with a custom roster.

Connected Careers Edit Player: Added the ability to edit gear and information for players in a league.

Coach Mode in Connected Careers: Added the ability to use coach mode in Connected Careers.

Changing Schemes in Connected Careers: Added the ability to change offensive and defensive schemes as a coach.

Offline Play Along in Connected Careers: Added the ability for multiple people to join a CCM game. This applies to coaches only.

Draft Clock: Added a draft clock during the draft that is displayed on screen if you leave the draft interface to view rosters, depth charts, etc.

Draft Filter: Added a filter to the draft screen to display players that have been drafted.

Connected Careers Practice XP: Added the ability for user controlled players to earn extra XP in practice mode through the stats they accumulate.
Gameplay Tuning:
  • Fixed an issue where WRs were dropping too many passes when playing on All Madden difficulty setting.
  • Fixed an issue where it was too easy to time the kick meter on FGs and PATs in user vs. user games.
  • Fixed an issue where punt returners were moving away from the landing spot if you called a fair catch while letting the CPU control the player.
  • Fixed an issue where someone who attempted to bull rush with the R stick once the ball was snapped activated run commit.
Commentary:
  • Added over a dozen logic fixes to make our commentary more intelligent.
Presentation:
  • Fixed an issue where specific offensive player celebrations were not triggering.
  • Fixed an issue where the referee was backwards when calling a penalty.
  • Fixed an issue with the Giants away uniforms (missing a sleeve stripe).
Connected Careers:
  • Fixed an issue where Offline Gameplay AI/Logic did not match the logic in Play Now.
  • Fixed an issue where playing the game on All-Madden is too easy.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the camera setting in CCM game works for single player.
  • Fixed an issue where League Sliders had limited impact on difficulty.
  • Fixed an issue where the Accelerated Clock did not function in an online CCM game when the option was set to On.
  • Fixed an issue where you could not turn on/off GameFlow in CCM.
  • Fixed an issue where you were unable to sign Free Agents during the season.
  • Fixed an issue where 'Starting a League' would reset Player Schemes.
  • Fixed an issue where after declining a trade offer, you are no longer able to accept or decline another offer.
  • Fixed an issue where you could exploit supersim to run the game clock indefinitely.
  • Fixed some spelling and polish issues in the News and Twitter.
  • Fixed an issue where a coach could make a contract offer to a user controlled player.
  • Fixed an issue where you are forced to select a throwing style for a created player that is not a QB.
  • Fixed an issue where turning Auto-Start to off does not save week to week.
  • Fixed an issue where you can see rookie overall ratings by accessing the player card of the prospect through Team Needs.
  • Fixed an issue where changing Auto-Sub Frequency does not change the correct data.
  • Fixed an issue where the profanity filter was preventing offline players from typing in their names.
  • Fixed an issue where you can draft a player and then trade down while the draft is paused. The issue resulted in the user keeping both the traded picks and drafted player.
Stability:
  • Fixed numerous crashes.
  • Fixed an issue with the in-game pause menu disappearing.
Madden Ultimate Team:
  • Changed the Packs button to Store Button.
  • Condensed Leaderboards and Help menus.
  • Implemented the ability to view videos from the hub.
  • Implemented Store Panel Changes.
  • Moved Auctions/Trades to a separate menu option.
  • Fixed several Solo Challenge exploits
Playbooks:
  • Fixed an issue where theHail Mary formation in a custom playbook had a blank play that resulted in a broken formation and invisible players if selected.

Not sure if this is because of the recent update but I seem to be getting an abnormal amount of freezing in CC whether it be offline or online.

I've never had so much freezing in previous Madden games. Kinda ruining it for me. I'm sure people are experiencing this also.

I can't practice with the playbook I want.

Playbooks don't stick. Gotta change before every game. (legend coach PB not avail. in settings)

Preseason depth a joke. You can't fix the kicker punting? Sick of the 5 yard punts.

End of preseason game, Vikes up by 1. All they have to do is run then punt. They decide to pass, its incomplete, leaves me with 1 min+ mid-field, when I should have <30 seconds with 80+ yards to go.

Changing schemes kills player OVRs. Not a huge deal but it was a bigger drop than expected.

Starting Oline vs backups...Oline gets killed (49ers vs Vikes)

Super LBs still getting those INTs.

Tackling seems to be tough...can't seem to bring some guys down when I get a helluva hit on them. Kinda bounce off them.

yeah ive noticed the its very hard to tackle hbs. adrian peterson ran for 300 yards on me. he was impossible to tackle. he literally broke over 20 tackles. id say i give up about 150 rushing yards per game.

Is there anyway to fix the fact that all my rookies automatically where long arm sleeves? Even though when you go in to the edit screen they don't have any on? Is it backwards, so if I put sleeves on them, they won't have sleeves? Nothing like playing 8 games in Cali and damn near everyone has sleeves on....

I did play a Play Now game last night on default AM and though I got crushed (I was the Bengals playing the Pats) it felt reasonably fair, other than RBs broke a few too many tackles.

I was just coming in here to say that I'm loving default All-Madeen. Lost 44-23 to the Broncos using the Jaguars. Game went just as you'd expect it to. Peyton completed 70% of his attempts and threw 5 TD's. McGahee also ran for over 130 yards.

Blaine Gabbert was awful; 3 picks and barely over 100 yards. The rushing attack did gain close to 150 yards.

Jacksonville looks like my new team for CCM.

In "Your Madden" settings is the only place to turn it on and it has to be on when you create a league or when the person creating an online league creates it. (I'm not 100% sure it can't be turned on/off after creating a league, but so far it seems like it has to be on at creation)

Question, sorry if this has been answered numerous times but

In offline CCM, why can't I use custom rosters?

I go to my Madden, manage files, then I load the custom film.

Then I go to play career, start my career, play offline.

Message pops up: Which CC roster do you wish to use?
- Use default CC roster
- Import My Madden roster

I select my Madden roster.

Then it goes into a loading data thing but not the actually loading screen.

Then I go into selecting coach, active coach. I pick my team. I don't touch any of the settings. Then I start my career.

Then I start my league.

Issues:
I go over to look at my roster and the overalls of players are changed.
I look at FA's. There are so many players that shouldn't even be there.

What is going on? Any help? Please and thank you.

Question? As this may have already been answered so my apologies.
Wanted to know why Head to head players in CCM coach mode lge can't get auto pass to work. Both players have coach mode turned on but when playing H 2 H QB' s don't auto pass. Seems to me would be rather silly to have auto pass work in online CCM vs CPU but not H 2 H. Is this really the case or am I missing something? Thanks fellas

Has anyone had any freezing problems lately? I don't know if its my game or the custom roster that I use. I am in an offline career mode, and every time I try to play a game it just freezes right before the coin toss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been having the problem of every time I import a custom roster into offline ccm it changes all of the qb's from the flack to the back plate, and the other way around with the receivers. Am I the only one having this problem? Just tried it with the newest roster, didn't edit a single player, just went straight to import it. I'm on ps3 by the way.

CPU QBs will scramble against you! He was saying his QB doesn't scramble, user QB with Coach Mode On, and they just stand there like robots waiting to be crushed.
Haven't bought Madden in 2 years and this is STILL the case? Wow.

It's not a new issue. It means that the problem was never addressed since the first complaints were raised about this (mostly after Vick's comeback to PHI and him being a stand-still pocket passer in Madden).

I just keep thinking to myself (and out loud on here) that M13 seems to be a rough draft experience. It honestly feels like it was a test, beta version, if you will of where the game is headed. However, you are all much more experienced at this than I am (last 3 football games purchased are M13, HC09 an HC06) so am I just deluding myself the way regular Madden customers have for the last 7 (from the tone of most threads) years?

...a true noob...

It is not just that your QB can't scramble or make moves to evade blitzes. Another really big issue is how your(user) elite QBs are depicted with regard for finding primary/open receivers and passing in general. If Rodgers passed like that in real football, the coach would use him as a water boy.

So confirmed tonight that Auto -QB does NOT WORK in a hum-hum league game. it only works in hum-cpu league games. WTF????? I am so frustrated, disappointed and just down right SAD

Madden is worthless to me now...back to Head Coach. God I feel violated <\3

The play clock still does not stop after an injury time out, often forcing you into a lightning fast play call or burning a time out to prevent the delay flag.

I also noticed that the GAME clock did not stop after a booth review in my game last night.

Annoying.

Im seeing conflicting answers here. Can someone answer this Q who knows the answer first hand:

Can I play coach mode on offline ccm w/broadcast view?
Can I play CPU v CPU offline w/CCM?

If answer yes to any one of the Q's, which system are u using?
