Madden NFL 13 News Post


It looks like Madden NFL 13 title update #3, which was scheduled to arrive tomorrow, is 1 day early and available now for 360 users, weighing in at 19MB.

Feature Additions:

Custom Rosters Offline: Added the ability to start an offline career with a custom roster.

Connected Careers Edit Player: Added the ability to edit gear and information for players in a league.

Coach Mode in Connected Careers: Added the ability to use coach mode in Connected Careers.

Changing Schemes in Connected Careers: Added the ability to change offensive and defensive schemes as a coach.

Offline Play Along in Connected Careers: Added the ability for multiple people to join a CCM game. This applies to coaches only.

Draft Clock: Added a draft clock during the draft that is displayed on screen if you leave the draft interface to view rosters, depth charts, etc.

Draft Filter: Added a filter to the draft screen to display players that have been drafted.

Connected Careers Practice XP: Added the ability for user controlled players to earn extra XP in practice mode through the stats they accumulate.
Gameplay Tuning:
  • Fixed an issue where WRs were dropping too many passes when playing on All Madden difficulty setting.
  • Fixed an issue where it was too easy to time the kick meter on FGs and PATs in user vs. user games.
  • Fixed an issue where punt returners were moving away from the landing spot if you called a fair catch while letting the CPU control the player.
  • Fixed an issue where someone who attempted to bull rush with the R stick once the ball was snapped activated run commit.
Commentary:
  • Added over a dozen logic fixes to make our commentary more intelligent.
Presentation:
  • Fixed an issue where specific offensive player celebrations were not triggering.
  • Fixed an issue where the referee was backwards when calling a penalty.
  • Fixed an issue with the Giants away uniforms (missing a sleeve stripe).
Connected Careers:
  • Fixed an issue where Offline Gameplay AI/Logic did not match the logic in Play Now.
  • Fixed an issue where playing the game on All-Madden is too easy.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the camera setting in CCM game works for single player.
  • Fixed an issue where League Sliders had limited impact on difficulty.
  • Fixed an issue where the Accelerated Clock did not function in an online CCM game when the option was set to On.
  • Fixed an issue where you could not turn on/off GameFlow in CCM.
  • Fixed an issue where you were unable to sign Free Agents during the season.
  • Fixed an issue where 'Starting a League' would reset Player Schemes.
  • Fixed an issue where after declining a trade offer, you are no longer able to accept or decline another offer.
  • Fixed an issue where you could exploit supersim to run the game clock indefinitely.
  • Fixed some spelling and polish issues in the News and Twitter.
  • Fixed an issue where a coach could make a contract offer to a user controlled player.
  • Fixed an issue where you are forced to select a throwing style for a created player that is not a QB.
  • Fixed an issue where turning Auto-Start to off does not save week to week.
  • Fixed an issue where you can see rookie overall ratings by accessing the player card of the prospect through Team Needs.
  • Fixed an issue where changing Auto-Sub Frequency does not change the correct data.
  • Fixed an issue where the profanity filter was preventing offline players from typing in their names.
  • Fixed an issue where you can draft a player and then trade down while the draft is paused. The issue resulted in the user keeping both the traded picks and drafted player.
Stability:
  • Fixed numerous crashes.
  • Fixed an issue with the in-game pause menu disappearing.
Madden Ultimate Team:
  • Changed the Packs button to Store Button.
  • Condensed Leaderboards and Help menus.
  • Implemented the ability to view videos from the hub.
  • Implemented Store Panel Changes.
  • Moved Auctions/Trades to a separate menu option.
  • Fixed several Solo Challenge exploits
Playbooks:
  • Fixed an issue where theHail Mary formation in a custom playbook had a blank play that resulted in a broken formation and invisible players if selected.

Depends on what you expect from Coach Mode. In Madden 13 Coach Mode simply means that if you do not take control of your quarterback after hiking, then he will pass the ball automatically. A QB rushing only happens on called QB run plays.

Auto-QB mode works in offline CCM, and Online CCM when hum vs cpu but NOT hum vs hum. Broadcast view is available but not exclusive.

How can you play cpu vs cpu when that means no human, but if you mean can you watch the cpu play cpu, no, you can not.

I am using the PS3 but this information is the same on both systems.

I'm posting this here instead of in the schemes thread, so I hope it has a better chance being expedited into a patch...

Essentially, the scheme fixes from October are useless. They work only insofar as the they affect the desire of players with matching schemes into signing with your team. However, the fact that changing defensive or offensive schemes doesn't adjust the position allocations (the 49ers will have 2 MLBs and 1 DT on defense no matter what) is a HUGE problem, IMO. I simulate a majority of the games in CCM, only playing 4 or 5 games a season. I tried changing from 3-4 to 4-3, and to no avail, since when simulate games the resulting statistics pretty much confirm that my team employs 2 MLBs and 1 DT.

I've reached 20 years in my CCM and I consider this a deal breaker in considering whether or not to continue playing. I REALLY want to keep playing but, after 20 years, I've blown up my defense in hopes of creating a true 4-3 defense.

The "scheme" is in essence determined by the playbook. Change to a 3-4 or 4-3 playbook and you will be running that D even when the "depth chart" appears schemed for the wrong D. Your 2nd MLB on the depth chart will be your LILB and your 2nd DT will be your R/LT respectively.

No, it won't look pretty, but your team will be the respective type D of the playbook.

At this point I can use work arounds and deal with most issues in Madden 13. The one thing I would really like fixed now is the pass reaction slider. It needs to actually work and affect coverage. The cpu passing game on All-Pro just isn't very good. I'd love to be able to loosen my coverage up to allow them to make more plays. It would be very easy to do that if we had a coverage slider that worked.

Is there any chance we get another patch around christmas maybe? Fixing some bugs and the pass reaction slider a said above?

I would like them to fix the deph chart tuat it always shows the same player ratings, now the deph charts rating in game are differend then in the personnel screen.

You also cant see the player goals for the rolb and lolb

And ofcourse fix the team playbooks change the all the start to 0 or 1 that would really improve the game.

Any chance a such a patch

I do not know if this has been worked out yet...im in an online CCM, i have the steelers and i have a $-13435.00 for cap space, poluamlu, JJ wyatt, pouncey, and gilbert allllllllll need to be resigned. is there a work around? im not the commish so i have no control..i just want to keep those guys. i brought a retirement package for Troy and im concerned he may retire if i cant sign..any help????

How do I go about changing the playbook? I'm currently using Bill Walsh as a coach, so I assume he comes with default playbooks. However, every time I start a game, go to Advanced Settings, Edit Playbooks, my O playbook is "Bill Walsh" and my D playbook is 3-4. So, it feels like there's some influence on my settings (I doubt Bill Walsh is supposed to run a 3-4). I'd be interested to see how this would be remedied...

I'm not sure what you mean here, but that is how you change your playbook, just like you described, advanced settings, then just scroll through the different playbooks.

So can I start a new CC as a CB then later move that same player to ss/fs and or chang your stats ? and can you change other players stats and move then around?
Allso do you get to be the KR/PR or make a Punter or Kicker in CC mode ?

Thinking about getting this game for 360 thanks.

I might be late to the game regarding the patch but I would appreciate if someone could answer these questions

Has body editing now been taken out of offline roster editing I cant' seem to find it.?
also do you have to downloadlatest roster in order to enable player body editing. I know you can't edit online but I just got the game free and was told that you could edit offline. Appreciate any answers.

Can please someone tell me how to put coach mode on in Connected Career mode? I don't see an option to do it. I want to have auto pass on.

you have to turn it on under My Madden > Settings and it has to be on before you create a league (90% sure but i never have it off so...)

My Madden is the only place to turn it on/off and it does NOT work in online league hum/hum games

I really wish they would tune the LE/RE sack and pass rush issue. It just seems the LE is able to break free so much easier. Cam Wake is rated 10 points higher than my LE but he has 7 sacks in 15 games (not horrible but low) while my LE has 22 sacks! C'mon! Wake gets stalemated a lot by the LT which is fine but my LE just runs into the RT and breaks free a half second later. I don't even control my DL much - these sacks are almost entirely with the cpu playing as the DL.

I still wish the cpu would stack, shift, and/or slant a little more against strong side offensive formations. Just running the Power off tackle out of the I-formation can lead to a lot of longer runs with faster backs since the cpu almost always shows a balanced defensive look against an unbalanced formation. The line is more likely to shift to the weak side than the strong side. Why not move the LBs over a little? You don't have to sell out against the strong side but they certainly need to protect against it more than they do. I don't get it.

Just checked and looks like body editing is gone. No more skinny lineman hopefully.

skinny lineman are gone, but i have many players with huge belly's (only when i start a CCM) and now i cant change it. sucks

Can you explain a little more when this is happening? Is this a new CCM or one you already had pre Title Update?

both, its only when i use the import custom roster option though. many players look normal when i view them from the manage roster menu, but when i start a CCM a lot of them have odd body builds mainly db's and WR's. before this update i could just go in and change it after i start a CCM, but now obviously i cant anymore.
