Anyone else noticing this? The players that I notice that have them are non-quarterbacks. I don't know the full extent, but i did notice that both teams in my season opener against the Saints had the majority of the players with flak jackets. And we're talking o-line and d-line players, not just qbs and skill position players.

So I went in to start just changing my team (time-consuming and incredibly frustrating, as I only had a limited time to sit down and play), and then I ran into the skinny arm bug. That's when I shut down my system in disgust.

EA is about to make me quit gaming. This is just so ridiculous. The time you have to commit, and the hoops (and countless number of menus) you have to jump through just to set up the game, before you start a franchise.... I'm an older gamer and I have limited time as it is to get on and play a few, and EA just makes it so hard.

It's a shame. I truly believe the NBA Live wouldn't be the only EA franchise "on the ropes" if it weren't for the exclusivity deal with the NFL.

It's not just the latest patch, it's just a cumulative effect of the frustrations with the game and worst of all, not having a choice to play an alternative that is really the worst part.

Somehow, the NFL, needs to get wind of the consumer's displeasure with having just a single developer create games for the League. Don't know how that can happen with enough impact, to go up against the money they are making regardless.

Just curious, but, is this (exclusivity) a Roger Goodell initiative? I been indifferent to him as commissioner in general, but aware of a lot of the criticism he's taken from fans and players. Adding this exclusivity deal to all of the other stuff has me seeing him in a more negative light along with all of the other stuff he's been involved with, running the league.

Am i seeing things or did EA do something about this?
Maybe this was the "td celebrations not triggering" portion of the fix.

Is this editing from within an already started CCM? Or is this after you import a custom roster and start a new CCM?

loving the game now, real complaints left are just flat out dumb cpu A.I at times(down 5 with 10 seconds left on my 20, calling a run play with no timeouts smh) and some stat issues where WR's somehow have 300 ypg averages when they really dont, and its giving a WR an award when he really had a lesser season because of the YPG that he really doesnt have. lots of stat issues. also the editing causing players to turn skinny is annoying

I hope people know this: IF YOU HAVE AN OLD FRANCHISE, set your skill difficulty down or up a level, go out of it. then back in, and change it back, otherwise your sliders will still be screwed up in your old franchise.

Both. I edited like three players prior to re-starting a ccm, then noticed the flanked up players during the first game. Quit, then went to fix the flak jacket issue, then the arms started to shrink.

This is on a PS3, by the way.

Any difference on a 360, can anyone confirm?

They still go in the walls a bit, just not all the way through like before from what I've noticed in about 7 games or so.

Not really positive though, I'm about to play a game. I'll pay more attention to it this time.

started ccm offline after the patch and it seems as almost all skill position player seem to be wearing a flack jacket instead of the back plate. and everyone and their mom seems to be a team captain. anyone else having issues with that

I think it's all part of making the players happy, so everyone gets that Captain status--another EA exclusive.

Probably not a "patch" impression, but the game "looks" a LOT better when you play on slow as opposed to fast and my game didn't go any faster on very fast maybe 5 minutes shorter :\ Deff not worth it with how much better the game looks on slow.

I played a couple games last night and I will concur that the physics is a lil smoother.
I wasn't bothered too much about the twitchy-ness after plays. I was more bothered by a lot of collisions in which the ball carrier and a defender smash into each other and there was no break tackle or tackle animation triggered, it just looked like they both ran into a brick wall. That has been reduced and i've seen even the second or third defender come in and shown signs of wrapping up the ball carrier which is great.

If I had a chance of adding something to this game, it would be a more specific hit stick. So many times i've had guys being held up in a tackle animation only for me come in full speed and push the pile with my face and/or torso in an awkward fashion. When you watch the NFL (especially players like Ryan Clark) you will see guys torpedo into already held players with their shoulders (or head if they get away with it). You should be able to do this in a football game too, so instead of having that current hit stick gather there should be a direction on the stick that allows you to dive with your shoulder so that you can affect these piles in a better and cooler looking way now that we have physics.

Anyway a bit off track, the game plays better but I also came across the skinny arms thing (ps3) and the depth chart wont save. In fact, everytime I make a change on the depth chart it takes a few seconds to think and looks like its on the brink of breaking everytime.

I can actually play this game now since they allow coop but while I was waiting for this patch I picked up nba 2k12 off a mate cause he got 2k13 and I have to say my bro and I were blown away by the franchise in that game.
Just my two cents, but that's how a sport game should look. Im a huuuuge football fan but man im tempted to just continue playing nba cause it feels so polished in every aspect - sound, commentary (best i've ever heard in any game), graphics and gameplay...hell, even the menus are ridiculously user friendly to navigate through.
Back off track again...

Overall, the patch has done good things for how I play madden but there are way too many football fundamentals missing from this game for me to say it plays "great" unless that great is used in context with other madden games and not other football or sporting games in general. Luckily Jarods sliders make this game better than how it is released, for me.
Peace.

They did not fix the issue with highlights? That you can only save highlights during a game and not after. Disappointing...

I also like that when playing offline, in coach ccm, I can use my created player in the coach career mode. I just imported my custom roster when prompt. That part of the patch as far as rosters, I appreciate. Only editing part I like is changing the numbers on certain players.
So can you create "yourself" as a coach? I would enjoy being able to create myself as a new Head Coach, then take over and build up an an ailing team using the new Coach Mode (even tho I know it's not a true coach mode). I'm still a hold out on buying M13 and waiting to see more feedback on whether the latest patch did enough to correct game issues?

By the way, if I buy M13 can I download the latest patch WITHOUT purchasing a LIVE account?? I don't play online so I have no need/interest in LIVE for anything other than game updates.

I am 99% certain you can get all the patch without the online code or any online subscription. You should be good.

One nice little touch they added to scouting was to set the view to ALL so you can scroll through both scouted and unscouted players.

is anyone else stuck in Breast cancer awareness? I know it is IRL but my offline CCM has had it since week 1 and im in week 6 now. is this a glitch or something ea is doing to promote this month?

EA screwed this up in Madden 13. It was done properly in Madden 12. Breast Cancer Awareness is an October event. In M12 when your video game season reached October you would get the pink stuff for four games and then in November it would stop. Not so in M13. Breast Cancer Awareness is tied to the real calender of your console. Meaning if you play an entire Madden season this month every single game will have the pink stuff.

Ugh.. Went through a whole offseason, then the game crashed. Second time it's happened to me.

One thing I don't understand is they made legends and u cant even use them. I'm a guy that loves old school football and every thing about it so when i seen the screen shots of them it looked awesome don't get me wrong u can't expect EA to do things right on LT facemask is wrong there is a bunch of players that don't have there mouthpiece. But that's EA for u but how hard is it to give use the freedom to do what we want to with the legends offline all they have to do is give us the ability to the canton greats in manger rosters so we can put where we want them. There one of the reasons I paid $59 for madden and u can't do **** with them.
