It also doesn't mean they won't end up back towards 2011 levels by the end of this year either.

We don't know either way.

And did the developers know the Saints and Packers would run more, so far, in 2012? What data were the developers working off of when they made M13? Unless the tendencies are updated each week, what the teams do next week isn't really relevant if that's not the data the developers used to program the game. (Which is why it should be user customizable if they aren't going to keep on top of it but I digress...)

If they did use 2011 data, then, yes, it is not accurate. If it's changing week to week with a tuner or whatever, then a case can be made that it's working well - IF it's unique to teams and will change as those teams get new coaches, etc, going forward in the franchise.

Can anyone confirm if Accelerated clock now works in user vs user CC games? I'd change it and check myself but our CC is experiencing the resetting injuries bug where all injuries are reset when a setting is changed so I don't want to change any settings for fear it will erase my injuries and still not have accelerated clock working. If it's truly fixed, then I can change it in my CC and it would be worth it to lose injuries but gain accelerated clock.

Any help here would be much appreciated.

All this patch did was birth more complainers. Ridiculously entertaining tho, especially reading about not being able to change sock colors, etc. What's sad, not one review about other areas of the patch, like the new intelligent commentary. Anyways like someone said, bigbob I think, EA talked about why things were left out months before the release. I'm just glad my fun experience hasn't been ruined by the editing complainers.

Welp, back to the entertainment that this thread is. Lol

But this ISN'T as drastic as buying a new car with stuff missing. Madden advertised before it's release the features it WOULD have, it doesn't advertise what it doesn't have. At the end of the day it's a game. The developers took a chance by trying something new and for some consumers it worked, for others it didn't. That's the gamble in today's market. I admit the developers' are at fault for releasing a very bugged/glitched game, but I credit them for also giving us some good gameplay (Mixed in with its stupid AI) but year after year they have to do something new, because if they released Madden 12 with a new physics engine and that was it this forum would have been blown up by consumers saying that they are playing last year's game with a fancy engine. It's a never-ending battle to make everyone happy. This isn't a story mode game where you can come out with a new storyline every year, it's just good ol' football and I appreciate it as such. We all paid our 60 bucks and we all have varying levels of opinion on what the game produced for us. But that's life. All we can do is hope that next year they give us all the old features that we loved so much AS WELL as the features they implemented this year with improving tweaks for next year. That is all. I for one, would rather get something rather than nothing..

I haven't really noticed this new "intelligent" commentary. I threw a pass to Gaffney last night as he was wide open, that basically just bounced right off him, which then prompted the commentary to talk about what a mistake that was from the QB throwing into tight coverage like that. I really haven't noticed much differents in that area at all.

I think the game plays a bit tighter and better overall, but the commentary stuff... man... I just dont know. I'll have to pay closer attention, but from what I've heard so far its still the same.

# 606 Rushdown @ 10/17/12 02:20 PM
Did they do any commentary fixes specific to CCM? I haven't paid attention to see if it changed since the patch, but before it their commentary always thinks the last season was 2011-2012. It's pretty crazy to hear them talking about the defending champion Giants, or how the Raiders lost the last game of the season to miss the playoffs, etc etc etc when I'm in year 3 and none of that stuff is true. I can understand that it might not be possible to have them make comments that are actually applicable to the previous season that you played, but couldn't they somehow just turn all comments realted to the previous season off?

I guess to do this they'd have to have each comment flagged as either "general" or "time specific" or something, which probably wasn't done.

Speaking as a user who has yet to but the game, and will only play offline..

In terms of the body glitches, does this only happen if you edit within CCM? Are you safe to edit a player on a custom roster, then start a CCM with no issue? Or will that also cause the body glitches to occur? (Same thing for changing players position, weight, etc)

# 608 gametyme89 @ 10/17/12 02:58 PM
I did that. I edited and imported a custom roster and had no glitch problems with yoffline CC. The only thing you will have to deal with is the depth chart reset bug.

What method? You don't have a method, you thought that playing practices had something to do with resetting your depth chart and it clearly doesn't. Which was my point to begin with- save in the depth chart menu and problem solved regardless of if you play practice or not.....

Let's assume your assertion is true. So, I would expect that you believe that 2012 teams play based on the strength of their team. Therefore, one would expect that teams like GB, NO, NE would pass more than they run since they have average running backs, run games, and elite QBs. This is not happening in Madden 13 right now.

These teams are running the majority of the time on 1st and 2nd down when the score is close and even when you're up by 3 to 7 points against the elite CPU QBs. IMO, this just doesn't make any sense coaching wise.

But as I said before, if I can edit the CPU playbook with the 2nd controller in CCM offline, I can address that on my own.

P.S. In NCAA you can edit the coaches pass/run ratios to make these adjustments. It gives you more long-term life in the game because you can adjust a CPU team as the CPU adjusts its offfense's strength over the course of time

I'm not getting prompted to download the patch at all on my XBox. I've tried shutting it off and powering back up, opening the tray and closing it but can't seem to find a way to get the patch downloaded. Is anybody having the same issues or does somebody know how I can find this patch?...would like to get it ASAP to start playing Madden again...thanks

I would wait to see if they patch this patch. If not, I'd say take a pass on this one.

One final note: EA stated in the beginning that CCM was ready for the ability to edit rosters within it! We pushed until we got it. We can't blame EA for going against their better judgement to appease the community.

Another patch could put the game into a worse state.
No. They HAVE to fix the editing now or this game becomes worthless. Btw, we pushed until we got it, because it never should have been removed in the FIRST place. That was just a dumb move on their part, so you can't blame US for wanting it put back in.

Madden 13 is now a solid title. Not great, not bad....just solid. I see myself enjoying 2-3 seasons and then seeing where it goes next year. They cleaned up a lot of issues with this patch. AI is still wonky but not horrendous. Not better than 12 though (talking about AI and CPU gameplans). But playable. I like the direction of IE, I love the new passing system (as I have said over and over) and CCM is a great start to a deeper, more immersive franchise experience.

8/10

NCAA 13 is still IMO the better football game top to bottom on and off the field. Some think I am nuts in that asserstion but it is how I feel when I play both games side by side. I also think I am enjoying College Football as a whole far more than the NFL these days. I love the rivalries, recruiting, the underdog upsets, the race for the heisman with one of my kids, the unpredictability of games week to week in NCAA 13. The Dynasty hub is easy to navigate, the UI is far better than M13 and the game is silky smooth.

But I am not complaining with M13 anymore after this patch. I feel satisfied for my 45 bucks.

I'm with the guy above you asking about the new patch. I read through this entire thread and I still don't have a handle on whether the patch fixed things enough for this to be a purchase. I just can't get a handle on what the late game AI is like. Still dumb as rocks or is it much improved?

I have a $65 circuit city reward zone check waiting. Should we be waiting to see if another patch is coming out to clean things up?
Bucky, honestly, I don't know if we will ever see a 4th patch. If we do, it will be a first, based on my memory.

IMO there are far better sports game options than Madden 13.

NBA 2K13 - Even though I have not bought it....I have been playing 2K11 and I am sure 2K13 is at that games high level of quality.

NHL 13 - Awesome game. Fun, fast, exciting, well made, deep and immersive.

MLB The Show 12 - Nuff said

NCAA 13 - IMO a great game and the very best football game this gen.

So don't fret. If I were you I would just wait till Black Friday and grab a couple of the afermentioned titles.

Madden 13 is a good game.....not great and not bad. If your not a nit pick on uniforms, and expect a true football simulation but more of a hybrid arcade/sim game with a good franchise (not great) mode M13 is a good game. It is fun to play. But like I said the above titles I mentioned get far more play time than M13 on my console.

If I had to only have one game hands down The Show 12.

Basing the replay value of the game off of the capability to edit rosters, makes no sense to me. Don't get me wrong, I would love have the ability to edit rosters, but I don't see lack of that ability a game breaker by any means. I just hope future roster updates aren't screwed because of the patch.
Worthless to ME by the fact that I spent 60 bucks pretty much assuming that editing would be added back in at a later time. You're right, they did tell us from the beginning that it was out, but after all of the outrage, why WOULDN'T I assume that it would get fixed? That is, if they care enough about their consumers to give them what they want. I duno, maybe I'm expecting too much. I would just like to be able to enjoy Madden again, and sadly, that hasn't really happened in a few years.
