Madden NFL 13 News Post


Check out the Madden NFL 13 title update #3 details.

Feature Additions:

Custom Rosters Offline: Added the ability to start an offline career with a custom roster.

Connected Careers Edit Player: Added the ability to edit gear and information for players in a league.

Coach Mode in Connected Careers: Added the ability to use coach mode in Connected Careers.

Changing Schemes in Connected Careers: Added the ability to change offensive and defensive schemes as a coach.

Offline Play Along in Connected Careers: Added the ability for multiple people to join a CCM game. This applies to coaches only.

Draft Clock: Added a draft clock during the draft that is displayed on screen if you leave the draft interface to view rosters, depth charts, etc.

Draft Filter: Added a filter to the draft screen to display players that have been drafted.

Connected Careers Practice XP: Added the ability for user controlled players to earn extra XP in practice mode through the stats they accumulate.
Gameplay Tuning:
  • Fixed an issue where WRs were dropping too many passes when playing on All Madden difficulty setting.
  • Fixed an issue where it was too easy to time the kick meter on FGs and PATs in user vs. user games.
  • Fixed an issue where punt returners were moving away from the landing spot if you called a fair catch while letting the CPU control the player.
  • Fixed an issue where someone who attempted to bull rush with the R stick once the ball was snapped activated run commit.
Commentary:
  • Added over a dozen logic fixes to make our commentary more intelligent.
Presentation:
  • Fixed an issue where specific offensive player celebrations were not triggering.
  • Fixed an issue where the referee was backwards when calling a penalty.
  • Fixed an issue with the Giants away uniforms (missing a sleeve stripe).
Connected Careers:
  • Fixed an issue where Offline Gameplay AI/Logic did not match the logic in Play Now.
  • Fixed an issue where playing the game on All-Madden is too easy.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the camera setting in CCM game works for single player.
  • Fixed an issue where League Sliders had limited impact on difficulty.
  • Fixed an issue where the Accelerated Clock did not function in an online CCM game when the option was set to On.
  • Fixed an issue where you could not turn on/off GameFlow in CCM.
  • Fixed an issue where you were unable to sign Free Agents during the season.
  • Fixed an issue where 'Starting a League' would reset Player Schemes.
  • Fixed an issue where after declining a trade offer, you are no longer able to accept or decline another offer.
  • Fixed an issue where you could exploit supersim to run the game clock indefinitely.
  • Fixed some spelling and polish issues in the News and Twitter.
  • Fixed an issue where a coach could make a contract offer to a user controlled player.
  • Fixed an issue where you are forced to select a throwing style for a created player that is not a QB.
  • Fixed an issue where turning Auto-Start to off does not save week to week.
  • Fixed an issue where you can see rookie overall ratings by accessing the player card of the prospect through Team Needs.
  • Fixed an issue where changing Auto-Sub Frequency does not change the correct data.
  • Fixed an issue where the profanity filter was preventing offline players from typing in their names.
  • Fixed an issue where you can draft a player and then trade down while the draft is paused. The issue resulted in the user keeping both the traded picks and drafted player.
Stability:
  • Fixed numerous crashes.
  • Fixed an issue with the in-game pause menu disappearing.
Madden Ultimate Team:
  • Changed the Packs button to Store Button.
  • Condensed Leaderboards and Help menus.
  • Implemented the ability to view videos from the hub.
  • Implemented Store Panel Changes.
  • Moved Auctions/Trades to a separate menu option.
  • Fixed several Solo Challenge exploits
Playbooks:
  • Fixed an issue where theHail Mary formation in a custom playbook had a blank play that resulted in a broken formation and invisible players if selected.

Hey, now I can finally buy Madden! All I needed was the ability to edit rosters in CCM.

I am excited for the new title update. Madden 13 will be great then. I am deleting all my personal games until then. After the 16th I will do my personal game as the Detroit Lions and try to be more successful than they are right now in real life. Turn the boys in blue into a dynasty on the backs of Stafford, and Johnson.

Pretty good list from EA. I might buy the game now. I am a coach mode player and with the addition of coach mode, it makes the game better for me. Still wish for multi teams in CCM offline to continue a league my buddies and I have done for years, but I do appreciate EA adding all of the rest in. I also wish we could choose the CPU's uniforms, but I've played The Show in manager mode for years and this is still not available in that game, but the gameplay and realism is so good, I can overlook it. Anyway, thanks EA and I will be ordering this game from Amazon on the 16th after making sure the patch does everything it's supposed to do. Thanks again EA.

I guess the sim stats weren't tuned? Ridiculous high scoring games in cc. 1 season I had 14 teams average over 30. According to some there are to many snaps during the game. I thought this should have been one of the top issues addressed. Stats are a huge part of sports. Developers act like they are not important.

Will you be able to edit players and change coach schemes in existing offline CCM or will you have to start a new one for that to work?

Online zones! We need a fix on that! TEs are running rampart racking up 200 yards each game when coming out of a double TE set. Cmon EA, cmon.

My question is this (I read through the entire thread, and I couldn't believe no one else asked about this yet)

But those this part of the patch refer to the in season salary cap glitch for CCM?

If this is fixed, my entire league will be VERY happy. We are in week 9 of year 2 and have been scrambling to find an easy work around for this glitch until EA patched it. We were very close to a viable solution, but it was a little complicated.

If this was patched, that will be music to my ears!!!!

What a joke... they fix one stripe on the giants jerseys but still haven't changed the Bears wrong away pants.. that don't even exist.

They didn't fix assisted tackles, injuries, replay highlights in CCM user vs user, no transactions list, stats on CCM (when looking at whole NFL), and wind glitch when kicking FGs (goes opposite direction). These were the main things I wanted to see get fixed. Amazing. We are in the playoffs in our league and injuries are STILL resetting! And no, I just can't turn on pre-existing injuries because it WONT ALLOW ME!

6 weeks from release, that's not too bad, could have been worse and waited for a fumble fix well into November on Madden 9.

How can there be no fix for the quick pass vs damn near any D??? How can there be no fix for the lead pass against any zone on a deep streak? How can there be no adjustment to the defensive line getting pressure like they do in practice mode? How can Ea sleep at night when they make this awesome game but refuse to make the game sim like with regards to DEFENSE!!!

Im done if nothing is going to be tuned. Sad thing is I'm 11-0 online. Sooner545 look me up. But........ I'm bored to death of not having to think to score its really sad.

I'm not wanting to rip EA I just want realistic adjustments made to the game. I know where they need to be made and just dont understand why they arent. I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears but at least I got it out.
Read almost every page in this thread ans this man has not been answered so far, If he has then my apologies, I am grateful for whats in this patch but the fact remains that the game remains to "noob friendly" as the defense has serious issues that needs to be tuned.

So, can this man Sooner and I, get this question answered please? Would be greatly appreciated!

They've been mysteriously quiet on this. In most cases, no news is NOT good news, but I'm remaining optimistic. But I've asked this question on Twitter along with RudyJuly (and others I'm sure), and it's yet to be responded to.

Smoke, it was answered last week by EmmdotFrisk.

The tuners would not be able to fix what the upcoming patch is.

And in all due fairness, EmmdotFrisk and Dewiel haven't returned since the thread was posted, but give them time, they have a job, they will come back and have some answers for some of the questions.

I read through most of the thread, may have missed it.

Injuries wiping on setting changes, this wasn't addressed?

Meaning, all these changes will hit our CCM's...and wipe injuries for everyone? Surely this was not missed...
