But still I don't think there is a logic behind it. You only have to go in Free style practice to see that there isn't a logic behind it, press Y to be in the post up position, and try to do wide open hook shot with Shaq. He won't even make 50% of them. Pretty sure he should almost make a 100% of them.
thanks bro.

u might be right but when i did them in 2k12 i made my share of them. the problem was that u couldnt pull them off consistently because the game would always think i was trying to input left or right when i was actually inputting up & left and up & right. then on top of that, whenever u got near the charge circle and u tried to do a Hook over the shoulder that was parallel to the baseline you always got that ugly *** contact shot animation.

now i can do them but i cant make them. i really dont wanna raise the Close shot sliders cuz shooting percentages can already be high at times. smh

Only thing to do is to really not attempt them too often. It's really frustrating when you have a huge missmatch in the post like Ray allen on Howard and you go for the hook shot and he bricks it lol. I just do it from time to time because it's simple and it looks cool. Like I said I think faking one side (with RS while dribbling in the post) to create space and doing a hook shot the other side increase the chance of making it.

Wish I had an Xbox with bigger memory, so that I could record highlights. In Team Up, I fooled two human defenders with a half-spin jumper with Brandon Roy. It was so nice. I got them off the floor with the half spin and then I just went back the other way and swished it from about the free throw line. As soon as I get MyPlayer to a better rating, I'll be killing dudes on Blacktop Online. Too bad they couldn't give us more than 2 camera views. Player lock is perfect for this kind of mode.

for some reason, im missing most of my Hooks in the post. i dont know if its just my timing or what but i cant seem to make them. and this is with Gasol and Howard. im literally right in front of the hoop and im still bricking them.

i tried holding the stick until he actually releases the ball, brick.

any tips anyone? Beluba?

my shooting sliders are on sim All Star.

This has been a HUGE problem for me!

I play exclusively with the Kings and still have not made ONE post shot with Demarcus Cousins. Only faceup shots.

Every post move I make I brick 100% of the time!!!!!

Beluba this needs fixing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe this deserves its own thread

How do you do what Kobe is doing at 0:27 and 0:38?

If the defender is crowding you, and you are protecting ball (Post up button) then push right stick away from defender.

is it just me or is there something stupidly easy that I'm overlooking?? This is pissing me off
Apologize if you already tried this but there's an option under controller settings that allows RB+RS to switch between direction and zone, that might make a difference.

Ah ok. I never used it, I usually turn it off. I like leaving RB icons up if i see a guy open, so I usually turn RB+RS passing off or otherwise I'll end up passing when I mean to shoot. Sorry I couldn't be of more help....

THANK YOU! glad there is another person who understands where im coming from.

i have also played with the Kings and i have yet to make a post shot with Cousins as well. this is pure foolishness.

and what irks me the most is that going into Practice for Post moves does nothing because the shot timer doesnt work for moves in the post. it only comes on when u try post moves from the Mid-Range area.

both these things may need a patch.

the second move is a simple fake drive to the key (right stick towards the key), then L2 + Shot stick to the right

I think the difference is between the hook shots (no shot indicator) and fadeaways (shot indicator). The distance doesn't matter it's just which move you end up doing. I think the timing doesn't matter on the hook shots, but it's still nice to know how "contested" your shot is.

Thanks man, but is this the same thing that is in the game manual that the game comes with?

How do I pass with my right stick? It doesn't work the same like in 2K11/12 and I tried everything. Otherwise passing goes way too slow.

How important is it to use advanced defense consistently, like hands up for example?

Hold RB while moving the stick in the direction of player

If Kobe is on the left of me:

Hold RB(R1 for PS3) + move right stick to the left

Anyone pulled off any of the protect shots or know how to do them yet?

# 459 Vni @ 10/14/12 06:16 AM
I have no idea what it is. Can you explain?

Thanks a lot man.

Too bad they changed it though, it feels less fluent/bit laggy and you have to press 2 buttons, bit too much imho. I liked to press the bumper, light up all the Icons and then pass at will.
