Training camp is a must do in nba 2K13. Starting to love the controls.

You basically can do everything. Like if you want to do an in and out with a normal crossover to start and between the leg for the out, you can.

e/ It's not an in and out actually. Don't know you call it. Maybe just a double crossover.

Yeah start off in training camp, do some stuff in freestyle, then head to 1 on 1 blacktop, then take your stuff to the games.

This is a musssstttttttttttt.

Once went into training camp with the dribble controls I learned mastered just like I mastered isomotion in 2k11 and 2k12.

Triple-Threat issue that I wanted to see if anyone is encountering.

In previous iterations, when in TT, you could flick the right stick as hard/often as possible and the player would NOT move off his spot (or go into a dribble) as long as you had LT held.

However, it seems in 2K13, when I'm in TT jabbing, my player sometimes goes into a dribble and comes outta the triple threat. I thought I may have been hitting the left stick by mistake, but I was not. Anyone else notice this?

Yeah, I thought it was my controller when he backs off. But I think if you press back on the RS he backs off and starts dribbling since they don't have that one protect ball move anymore (or do they?).

RS away from the hoop initiates a dribble.

Try the Training Camp - it's all listed there.

Thanks. I'll have to check when I get home, but i really hope they didnt remove the ability to do the protect ball triple threat position (where you turn your back to the defender and hold the abll away from him)

Can do it only when they crowd you with the LT.

This makes me kinda said. I chained alot of good moves with that position in past games.

Guess it's back to the drawing board. Thanks for the confirmation.

No problem. The closest I have to that move is moving the RS towards the pivot foot direction then you can somehow spin out of it. But yeah, I think they took it out, but Idk why lol. I also don't know the point of that dribble out move that they replaced it with cuz you can just move the LS and he'll start dribbling.

So did I. The only thing similar to it is a step over launch in the opposite direction.

So - RS to the stepover, LS to the opposite side, release RS.

I believe beluba said protect ball has been removed so people can use the post up button instead.

If so, at least this year, I see no benefit to this.

Defensive assist slider and auto contest definately adds input lag to onball D control. Another good reason to not use it guys. Try to turn em off. They're both under the pad configuration menu.

It's essentially the same thing. You could spin out of the protect the ball triple threat last year.

im a shot stick guy just like you man. i even changed my controls so the shot stick is the default function for the right stick. but this year your gonna have to learn to use the buttons to do some of the moves in the game.

for some reason, i cant consistently do a Dropstep when i try and use the shot stick. most of the time, my player just does a hook. now i just use the buttons for that move and now i can consistently do a dropstep dunk with Dwight.

Thanks!!

Tomorrow I get my copy. Should be really interesting
this is one of 2k's major flaws. all my friends always says the same thing. "why do they change the controls every year? how am i supposed to enjoy the game when i have to learn all the moves over again year after year?"

and these are my friends who dont have alot time on thier hands. they cant play everyday. so when they choose to play, they just wanna jump right in and enjoy the game. so now there spending the first month learning the controls.

But I've seen in the control options that we can actually turn off the indication of wether it's gona be roll/pop/ or slip. So if we turn that off (when you're playing on the same console like I 'am at the moment) how can you get it right? If it's just a timing thing it's pretty hard imo.
yes its timing.

Slip= hold the button for 1 second

Fade= hold the button for a 2 second

Roll= hold the button for 3 seconds (basically until he sets the pick)

For real man, I don't want to be too quick to judge because I know I don't have these controls down anywhere near as much as the old ones, but really not feeling it.

# 400 blklightning @ 10/06/12 12:57 AM
I can't understand why the left stick does the same moves as the right stick. They're making this more complex than it needs to be. It's really frustrating at times, especially when you're trying to do something specific.

How do I make left be left? It seems like left is sometimes up and to the left or whatever. I use 2K cam, btw.
