Finally played the demo - wow

The first thing that jumped out to me was how aggressive the CPU A.I. was with Lebron and D.Wade, these two just kept attacking my defense. Lebron grabbed nice rebound, then pushed the ball all the way up court saw a opening and went to the basket very aggressive. D.Wade was pulling up of the dribble in my face constantly, I've been wanting this in a 2K game for years, thank you. The paint contact is great, oh and the pick and roll - beautiful in this game, its nice to see the improvement, your teammates give you space now to perform this, even guarding the pick and roll is fun. I notice the CPU moves the ball around better and looks for your weakness on defense, it really felt like I was playing against another person. Boy the controls are going to take some getting use to, I'm going to need alot of practice with this. The game just feels so much more organic and responsive, it feels totally different than 2K12. There are so many moves you can pull off its crazy, and its nice seeing the CPU pull off alot of moves, also it was great to see alot of missed dunks because of contact in the paint area threw the player off balance. If the online mode is stable with less lag, and actual lobbies so we can pick and see who we are playing, 2K13 is going to knock it out the park.

My one complaint could be the onball defense seemed kind of stiff and not as responisve for some reason, it maybe my imagination and I need to play more games, but did anyone else feel like this?

After playing offline and online, I still feel like its impossible to play on ball defense online. Maybe its because people are playing all Willie nillie on the sticks right now, but the input lag plus herky jerky playstyle made it very difficult for me to play onball online. However, offline, its great, and that's where I spend the majority of my time anyway. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but I don't know. Seems unreliable, which would really bum me out as I was looking forward to playing MyTeam online.

I'm really enjoying it, once I got the control stick down. That's what I loved about Live back in the day (like Live 03, Live 04). The crossovers are much smoother than last year. It looks beautiful when you string multiple moves together to breakdown your defender. If I could change the camera, I would have loved this demo.

It's condescending posts like this that lead to arguments. You couldn't just drop your opinion without accusing those that have a different view of "pretending"? Really? It really not very hard to give respectful and varied feedback.

Cannot swing the ball around the perimeter fast enough because the controls thinks I'm trying to pass fake!!! ARGHHHHH. Pass fake should be a modifier LT+Pass, not a quick tap. Boo.

Also, a lot of OBVIOUS charge calls were called blocking fouls by the refs. Hope that gets fixed up in final release.

Rest of the game is thoroughly amazing though.

Lag is horrible here in Australia. About a second input lag, can't do online sadly.

2k hasnt made such improvemts since 2k8! The game is so fluid, offline at least lol. Loving the ai!!!! They call for passes, superstars play lile superstars. I got crossed by westbrook and he used his quickness to get to the hoop for a NASTY DUNK. The only bad thing i can say is the rebounding needs improvement...

I was really rooting for nba live to come back, but im really not looking back right now.. Maybe if they release it as a 15 dollar psn game i might buy it, otherwise im sticking with 2k and getting madden soon after

This. I hate it really - makes it pretty unplayable. Online is the main reason I play though.

2012 was my first year in the franchise, and I just can't say enough about how disappointed I was with last year's game. I purchased it and kept it for all of about 4 days, before removing that contraband from my house and putting it back on the GameStop shelf where it belonged.

However having played the demo, I can definitely say it feels like a completely different game. No 4,000 interceptions, shots actually miss, defenders actually defend - wait even better - defenders that are actually defending actually influence the offense, and don't just get bypassed or ignored.

Dunks and drives are not automatic, and individual players (and their skillsets) actually influence the game. IE: Lebron James played like Lebron James, and not some random 2k12 player with a high shooting attribute.

Did I mention that passes actually reach their target sometimes now?

I was very impressed by the demo, and it took me from "maybe I'll check out 2k13 when the price drops" to "I'm probably going to buy it on release day."

The only issue I noticed is that the seats at the American Airlines Arena aren't all empty.

Haven't played the game excessively but I have certainly enjoyed the brief time I spent with the demo. The animations look awesome, especially on falling away shots.

Still trying to wrap my head around the controls...I may very well stay old school and just press X to shoot. I've never been a big fan of the shot stick anyway.

I gotta say it, this control scheme is very similar to NBA Live's free style moves control scheme, but newsflash, I liked it and I think works brilliantly with 2K! This game will rock!

To be honest, I played the demo and then went to play the NBA 2k11 demo (I have the full game, but wanted to compare the games on an "equal" level), and as much as I hate to say it, I liked 2k11 better -- it looks better and just felt more realistic and more fun.

I suppose I'm one of the few that liked IsoMotion and the Shot Stick, and I find it frustrating that you now have to remember a multitude of new button combinations to perform different moves and shots. I do think it's more fluid than 2K11, but in my eyes, that's about the only advantage it has from a gameplay perspective.

Looks like 2k11's going to get even more replay value ... or maybe I'll get NBA Live 13...

... Like that's going to happen!

Don't know what to tell you boss. The animations, the collisions, the defense, the passing, the signature skills..........if you're not noticing any of that then you should probably be refereeing the NFL right now.

This might be very minor thing but why in every single 2k game net on the hoop on ps3 is kinda blurry and not as white as on 360 ??

Any difference between 360 and PS3 for those who have both
