Um...that happened ALL the time in 2K12. Continuation was completely broken (at least online it was). You could even attempt to do a hop step layup, knocking over the defender in the process, they get called for the blocking foul before you even attempted to lay the ball in, and...you got two free throws.

Feels like a new game..Reminds me of 2k7 when I first played it!!! I can imagine playing with A.I. can't wait until Monday Night

I had Wade dunk on me and I got called for a foul, I thought it would an "and 1" but apparently he had to throw 2 free throws. So that's good.

Respect your opinion. But this statement baffles me completely. You must weigh marketing very heavily because the changes in gameplay certainly dwarf a paint job in overlays. But, if you don't like it, you don't like it., that's all there is to it.

Liking the game a lot so far, but the controls will definitely take some practice.

The only issue i've really seen so far is rebounding. I do (and always have) focus on boxing out, but it still seems like the CPU grabs too many offensive (and sometimes defensive) boards with ease. Honestly, Bosh shouldn't sky for a rebound over Ibaka and Perkins when he's being fully boxed out. It almost seems like (in the demo) rebounding is partially broken.

To me, the new controls are a lot like the Alternate B controls from the previous years. Alt B allowed you to do a lot of the dibble moves with the right stick. For a lot of people here that didn't use Alt B it's a revelation. For me, it's making everyone else look at the control scheme I've been using for the last few years.

I will withhold judgment until I play the full retail release. And no, the menus and overlays aren't a deal breaker for me, but I do think the new look is completely awful. That's just me though.

The controls are giving me some issues in terms of getting used to pulling the left trigger or bumper to shoot -- that'll take practice. The dribble stick feels very responsive to me and the player models and general flow are really great on the demo so far.

I still want to play it a few more times and I really want to see how the MyPlayer plays out, since that's been the predominant mode that I've played the last few years, but I think the demo is very solid and has a better feel than 2k12....

After being addicted to this game like it's sugar, which, admittedly, I am horribly addicted to but have come a loooong way in beating (sup with these damn Dubble Bubbles, tho???), I can't say enough about how GREAT the overall game is. Sick ish in here but I have to admit, I really didn't play much of 2K11 or 12 and that's mainly cuz I never liked isomotion then grew to all out hate it. Just never felt "natural" and intuitive.

I did play a great deal of one of the previous years versions which I forget which one it was because I know I skipped a couple separate years. I say this because I don't know all the lil things that were there before good, bad, and ugly and I'm going to dig into some of the things I like and dislike in this demo. But, I do know IT IS JUST A DEMOOOOOO....

Likes:

- ANALOG DRIBBLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but this is more of a LOVE than a like. THIS, single-handedly, has shook up the game for me and THIS is what has me so addicted to the game, now, where I am obsessed with the game and actually have a hard time putting it down once I start playing. I could NEVER say that about ANY previous NBA2K, point blank. This is the engine that makes the car run for me, PERIOD, end of that story.

- Animations. Never ceases to amaze me what 2K can do with these but WOW! I even drove to the hole with Wade, got the hoop and the harm that caused Wade to hit the deck and he got up and limped a bit to the foul line -WTF!!!!!!!???? AMAZING!! A lil tear started to well up when I seen that. Wow, just wow.

- Player chatter/grumbling - Wow, the lip service in this game is unbelievable. Westbrook got called for one particular foul and he would NOT stop jacking his jaw about it even after initially barking toward the ref while I went to the line to shoot a pair. The grunts, yelling and reactions to plays is AMAZING!! Overall. Even seen Spoelstra yelling at a ref from his seat after one call, with head tracking and all dat. BEAUTIFUL!! What's so great about it all too, is that it's randomly done. Not a constant repetition of the same things. I can't say enough about that.

- New (real time) physics- Love the banging and physical contact. Wooo! Nice stuff.

- DEFENSE!! Had to get used to guarding folks again but now that I have -WHOA!!

- FAST BREAK!! Feels like there is finally a true break through with fast breaks now. Lebron and Wade get out QUICK and the overall flow of the break is pretty wonderful.

That's the short of that. Tryna keep it brief - OH, the demo actually looks "shiny" on the PS3, for once!!! Lol. Previous years demos have looked "ashy" or lacked luster. I wonder if it gets even better looking in the retail version.

Dislikes:

- CROWD NOISE!!!! C'MON, 2K!!!! Get that ish together. Lol. The crowd does NOT react properly to plays. Many a time, they sound like they're just chattering when a big play happens, even for the home team. The immersion gets a bit disconnected because of this. This has ALWAYS been a prob even when they had claimed to improve it years ago. Whatever the Live team has done for their game crowd noise, go get that ish. They don't need it no-mo'. Heh.

- Steal/jump button lag - Nothing more to say about that. It's a problem sometimes.

- Double team button - IT NO WORK!!

- Uhh, that's all the dislikes, that I remember, that I really have with this demo. I could talk about some of the player/crowd faces, "coach neck" and crowd animations but that's whatever. I think this is as good as it's gunna get with this gen. Can't complain about that, really. Next gen should be a beast especially with crowds actually head tracking gameplay.

Again, 2K, thanks. This is looking GREAT. Can't wait til Tuesday to see if some things were fixed/improved.

I'm holding dudes to 4 points.

I feel like my offense is already good I just need my plays. Not really focusing on defense and the post game till the retail version.

I'm about to retire the demo already I'm just beasting dudes to well.

What's your secret man? I can pull it off, but it's a razor's edge.

I got used to the controls with in a few possesions i was excellent at iso motion Nd crossing people up is my specialty....the only thing holding me back is the camera view.....and even than im still making people rage quit....my god ON BALL DEFENSE IS ACTUALLY FUN AGAIN i remember guarding durant one on one with LeBron and I had full confidence i could shut him down...unlike 12 where i was basically at the mercy of the opposing player. Thats not a good feeling

The more I play the demo, the more I'm getting accustomed to the player control and movement.

Still not what I prefer regarding heaviness vs smoothness at various stages of the game, but so long as I'm adjusting I'm getting better.

Keeping my pre order. Still deciding if I want to open the game tonight or sell it and pick it up later at a discounted price. Not sure I'm excited for basketball just yet. Need late October for it to matter.

After playing the demo a few times, some things I like and don't like. (Yeah I know I'm late lol) Control on D seems to be better, hopefully no more ice skating ala 2K12 and more of a 2K11 feel as far as begin able to stay in front of your man without being magically slid.

The list of things I didn't like is pretty short. One major gripe is the control stick. To echo what Pared and some others said awhile back, I def don't like the shot stick being the modifier and the control stick being default. I know 2K says this will make the game better in the long run, but I was fine w/ Isomotion and if anything the control stick seems to be to get casuals to pull off the WOW moves w/ the star players. It's a big change but seems like more of a change for the sake of change on the surface. Maybe it'll bear out diff in the full game, thankfully from what I hear we can make that change in the full game.

Its tough for me to really get a good feel on the game. I think some others have said they aren't as excited as they were last year, and I echo those sentiments. Don't get me wrong I'm sure the game will be great, but 2K12 def soured me after how great 2K11 was. And OKC and Miami are probably two of the worst teams for the demo for me, since I'll probably never play with either one of them when the full game comes out lol.
