Somebody tell me why they put in the pass off the backboard to yourself alley in there? That is just gonna be cheesed to death online. It's so easy to pull off its ridiculous.

I played a good amount of games. Gameplay is really nice. I still haven't gotten an explanation as to why big men like perkins have the same running styles as guys like magic johnson, carmelo anthony. This was very noticeable in the live stream from last night. It's been like this since I can remember. I like to call it the "grandma running style" It's not really realistic, and I can understand using it for sluggish 7 footers, but for small forwards and guys like blake griffin? FIX IT! I'm sure it would be pretty easy considering in nba 2k11 some one was able to edit the running styles on PC.

Love the game. Hate that they still haven't fixed the animation where people can basically body check you out of bounds like its hockey or something.

I literally jogged the ball up court, only to run into Westbrook and go flying towards the sideline.

The fake pass. I'm on the ps3 so it seems the fake pass is associated with the same button as the pass button(x). I've had multiple instances where I've had wide open teammates and pass faked instead of just passed when I wanted to pass. Is the fake pass just tapping x lightly? Or am I accidentally holding R2 by accident causing the fake pass?
I ran into that issue in the beginning but noticed the control list on OS. Hold X for pass, tap x for fake pass. It took time to adjust but I have no issue currently.

I like everything but the new stick thing. Give me the old stick with this gameplay and I'd be happy.

Love the game play and little odds and ends they haveadded 2k13 will be sick!! I've owned every 2k since the very first one on dreamcast. I really liked 2k11 and thought that was the best 2k game (also loved the classic teams).

Dribble stick, i'm trying to get used to it and love but it is difficult at times after you make a play or a cross a defender to remember to hold the shot stick or double tap for a stepback and such. I find myself pressing LT and RT a lot when i shoot after making a move don't know why.

Also after using the dribble stick to make a move do you immediately hit turbo to continue or ?? I feel i get kinda stuck there sometimes

Not sure what I'm going to do with the full version if I'm gonna go back to using LT as the modifier for moves or keep it the way it is.

Battier should be attempting as many charges as he can, that's one of his favorite things to do irl.

Played another round of games and I'm still impressed.

My only negatives are:

  • Self-Alley and regular alleys shouldnt be the same button input(X +A) imo. The user should have to make a choice.
  • With momemtum, the unblockable contact dunks still occur, but thankfully less often due to contact.
  • Inbounding the ball still appears to be slightly delayed which encourages spam steal inbounders.

You do chose where you want the lob pass to go,you have to press the direction at the same time.

The 'creative' factor you mentioned was also the same for the old style... But it's different for everyone else. It's good that they have given the option to go with either way of dribbling.
Where did I give what I think is the point of the dribble stick?

But at the end of the day there's options that everyone will be comfortable with.

I just wish I was at least decent with the game right now but I just have to keep learning and try to improve as I go.
Hang in there you'll learn eventually.

You seen any czar videos?

Oh how I wish there was the option to lob pass whenever we wanted. Maybe next year.

Like the physics and collision detection. The graphics aren't impressive, but it's a demo, so I don't expect much.

My only real "gripe" is the new control stick. I don't know if it's just because I got so used to 2K12's controls or what, but I don't like it.

I liked when the left stick controlled the dribbling moves because you use that same stick to direct your player, so it made perfect sense that you used it to crossover and spin and all that, as well. I don't like having to move 2 sticks to move my guy.

Other than that, I like the demo. I've never been thrilled with the "one 5 minute quarter" demo from 2K, but what are you gonna do? They could at least allow a "Start Over" thing at the end, instead of having to go all the way back to the main menu.

# 1156 JasonMartin @ 09/27/12 09:03 PM
All the way back? Dude it's quit-start - A and you're in.

with 2K11/12 demo's, it would take you 2 mins to restart a game and now it's within seconds (<5 if you keep ramming the A button).

I think it's great and really fast so you can keep on playing without getting frustrated

Yeah, it's almost like Jason Williams is a Heat player again.

But it's not just him. Other players with lighter skin are way too light. I don't know what happened there.

Spoiler

Is there a link that I can download it off my computer to a USB port then play the demo on my 360???

# 1159 diddy_nyc @ 09/27/12 09:32 PM
Is there way to download this demo without being an Xbox gold member? This is kind of ridiculous in order to download a bloody demo.
