Some of you guys are acting like little you know whats. The new controls are fine and if your not skilled enough to figure them out then it's not 2K's fault. Just want everything handed to like your a little infant. The real skilled players will have no issue with the controls.

My only real "gripe" is the new control stick. I don't know if it's just because I got so used to 2K12's controls or what, but I don't like it.

I liked when the left stick controlled the dribbling moves because you use that same stick to direct your player, so it made perfect sense that you used it to crossover and spin and all that, as well. I don't like having to move 2 sticks to move my guy.

Other than that, I like the demo. I've never been thrilled with the "one 5 minute quarter" demo from 2K, but what are you gonna do? They could at least allow a "Start Over" thing at the end, instead of having to go all the way back to the main menu.
I feel the same way...

Dude shutup..some of use don't like the new controls because its TOO EASY...so really your argument can work against you...Everybody complained that 2K12's controls were too hard..now they have their nba live dribble stick....I love how because we don't like the new control scheme we SUCK....I wipe the floor consistently online with no cheese so stop throwing around baseless accusations...its our OPINION...

Come on, dude. None of that has anything to do with how you communicate with other people. It's one thing to complain about the game. Not everyone is going to be happy with the way something is done. It's a game. It will NEVER satisfy everyone in every way. But to belittle other folks on your way to your point is unnecessary.

And the talk of "same game" is a little short sighted. I swear - people want change just for the sake of change. Nevermind that what's already there as a foundation is on point - just change so that you can put a check mark on a useless list? If it's not broke, don't fix it. With that said - to say "the game hardly different then the year before" is ridiculous. I'll just leave it at that.

BTW - fluent likes your post. That should tell you something.

Maybe. The problem is that most of the complaints of too easy are based on the ASSUMPTION that it will lead to some massive amount of cheesing. Why don't we wait and see what happens before we do that.

But, the game can't win. People complained Isomotion was "broken" because it was too hard. They make it easier and now Isomotion was great. BTW, some moves in Virtua Fighter were quite easy. But some of BEST moves in VF were quite hard to pull off. SOmething to think about...

Preach.

I never have any problems mastering 2k's isomotion or dribble controls this year. Just like everything else in life you wanna be good at it takes practice.

Why is it that SO many people don't know Microsofts policy on demos and Gold/Silver XBL membership. Dude, either get XBL Gold membership, or wait 5 (I think) days until MS makes it available on silver.

Your argument is nothing but a laughable strawman that stinks of ignorance and arrogance. This mentality all to often pervades the OS community put usually people don't put it with such naked arrogance as you.

Who are these "skilled" players by the way? I could only think that the people most pleased about these new controls are the casuals, because now they can freestyle with ease instead of those people who you know, RUN PLAYS.

What i DONT like is all of these people online doing 3 million iso crossover, spin between the legs dribbles in one possession..i'm sittin' there on defense like "okay dude". ...thats the only problem i knew the dribble stick would present in this game. Other than that, i'm loving it.

For the PS3 users out there that dont harrass the controls and want to play a real game minus the and 1 streetball crap. HIT ME UP.
Those guys are gonna get crushed when they lose all their stamina in the first quarter. Stamina is tied to the control stick, the more you use it the more stamina you use.

I'm pretty stoked on this game. I've been reading alot of comments and I agree with some of what's being said but i've got a few points to make.

New Controls - After 5 years of playing 2k it's a big change to switch to an iso stick; but we all knew this was coming and those that don't like it have the chance to change it or they just have to suck it up. Give it a week and i'm not too worried about it.

Graphics/Details - Remember it's a demo people. Does anyone remember the demo for 2K12? It looked like sh*t and the game looked way better. Case in point, did you see Kobe's shoes in the new developers video on Shoe Creator? Dope! Maybe it's just me but i don't care about how the crowd looks or that Westbrook has a mustache.

I can't believe that people would say that based on this demo they'r'e not buying the game. Are you kidding me?! After playing this demo i'm going to go and bury my copy of 2K12 in the backyard.

Online - I don't really play online but this is one thing i would be worried about if i did. If 2K had revamped their online and servers they would be trumpeting it from the mountaintops and we haven't heard anything. They might even be waiting for the game release before we hear anything, which would be pretty bad.

Crew - Don't get me started. Get over it Crew heads, it's gone... make your peace with it.

Lastly, let''s just remember that there's only a year between game releases and minus the rest of this year when they're doing patches and updates, that leaves roughly 7 months to put out a new game. Incremental changes people. Doesn't everyone complain when 2K puts out a halfbaked mode in the game? Compare 2k13 to 2K11 and that's a fair comparison.

Peace.

EVERY SINGLE TIME the game starts.

Gameplay's smooth and looks nice, and this is coming from a guy who doesn't normally play basketball games and still uses the X button on his 360 controller to shoot (nothing wrong with staying old-school, kiddies).

Again, I don't normally play basketball games...but I'm really considering checking out the retail version once it's out.

i posted this in the controls thread, but i figured i'd copy it here, because it might help those who are struggling with the controls.

this is what made the control click for me - the right stick dribbling is really best when used only for "stand-still sizeups". the right stick should mostly be thought of as the "sizeup stick". once you are moving, it is best to stay away from the right stick, because the left stick dribble moves and right stick dribble moves will be fighting each other.

what i had to understand was that the player automatically does crossovers, stepbacks, spins with just the left stick...i was accustomed to using a modifier for those moves in previous 2k's...so seeing my player do them automatically without a modifier was really throwing me off. i was trying to do these moves with the right stick, but i really only needed the left stick to do them.

what was confusing me is that there is a bit of a redundancy going on - a lot of similar dribble moves can be performed with both the right stick or the left stick (spins, crossovers, stepbacks). what was messing me up is that i'd be driving and i'd want to do a crossover, so i'd use the right stick to do crossover, but my player would automatically do a crossover with the left stick, then he'd do another dribble move from my right stick input...so my player would do two animations when i only wanted one - the left stick crossover and right stick move were fighting each other. once i stopped using the right stick while moving, it all started to work. the only move i use the right stick for while moving is the behind-the-back, because there is no way to pull that off with just the left stick.

I like how you get mad at me when YOU'RE the one who's belittling folks because they don't like the control stick...Anyway...I guess you weren't around when 2K12 came out...thats ALL people complained about was the dribbling being too hard....I've played online most of the year and hell, most people still can't dribble, I can tell when I'm playing them....But I learned the controls, got comfortable with them..I guess I suck because I want them back? Gotcha...
