NBA 2K13 Demo Available Now For 360 and PS3, Post Impressions Here

The NBA 2K13 demo is available now on the Marketplace for Xbox Live "GOLD" members (available next week for Silver). Most are getting it by searching for "2K13" or going to Genre ---> Sports and Recreation. You can also queue it up right here.

The PS3 demo arrives later this afternoon, we'll update this post when it's available.

UPDATE: PS3 demo is available now. If you don't see it, search for it.

The new controls take a little while to get used to, so make sure you check out the Controls trailer, we posted yesterday.

1 Five minute quarter
Quick Game and Online Quick Match. Can't invite friends, just random.
Can't change sliders, camera view, make substitutions or call plays

I upgraded to gold this morning for 2 dollars 2 months promo. This promo might be region or device specific so check it out if you are eligible.

Check advertisement on your dash board. If you go straight to upgrade your membership, it won't give you at the promotion price.

Whoa, Shane didn't lock down Kobe, Kobe baptised Shane when he used to try to pull that hand in your face defense when Kobe shot the ball, and Shane was still getting roasted by Kobe during the game. He had maybe one game when he played some decent defense on Kobe. But yeah I agree he is/was a decent defender but I don't think he is overrated. I'm curious to see how the PS3 demo will be.

What I get from the demo is that spacing and position is keep to setup anything.
And that a lot of people will be mad because their old 2k12 tactics don't work like they use to.
No more suction charges, contact an dtry to get that lame steal animation, post up into drive around with no contact.
LOL I even seen an oop attempt (the ball) get swatted away into the backboard.
Time to learn how to play instead exploit bad flaws in the game.
Shading a players works great .
Pressure D works well because you now get the contact.
Stopped Lebron with Ibaka because dude didn't have enough room to blow by me.(He had no dribbling space.

Is the game perfect no, but it sure is just on player movement alone way better.

That gameplay is awesome but I wont be able to quite grasp the controls until I can get on my beautiful 2K view. Thank god the demo does'nt have replay

I like the demo, but I'm having a hard time stringing together dribble moves. It doesn't seem like I have a lot of control, but I see other people are pretty smooth with it already. I'm also having a tough problem staying in front of people on defense like I did in 2K12. I'm sure both of these issues are things I'm doing wrong, but it's still a little frustrating. I wish we could use the 2K camera.

Can you call for a pick in the demo?

i played two games one using the heat and the other using the thunder. Im really liking the demo i love that they fixed the speed on the game and you can get passed players. it going to take time for me to get use to the control stick. both games i played the sprint bar under the players would go down but im not hitting the sprint button did that happen to anyone else

PSN hasn't updated the store with the demo yet, I heard around 5-6 EST. I'm not 100% sure.

The close range passing animation seems weird cause players don't shield/protect the ball away from defenders. I dunno how "live" the ball is in game, but it would seem if i can bounce the ball off of a team mate due to spacing b-w my team mate and i, trying to force a break, or just simply a bad pass should effect the ball. Still see very minute contact issues in the paint. And the backwards shots by big men under the basket after a rebound seems odd.

For real though, just played a single and an Online game. Won both. I was the Heat though. Those unstoppable cheaters. Loving it so far. LIVE controls + 2k = win win for me.
