Just in time for the NBA 2K13 demo, which arrives tomorrow. Check out the controls trailer.
Gameplay Producer, Mike Wang (Beluba) has chimed in with the following update (Post #24).
Quote:
just fyi... some of the controls are incorrect in this trailer:
Bounce Pass = LT+A
Behind the Back = RS away from hoop
As for shots, the trailer just shows how to execute some of the new shots with the face buttons. Shot Stick controls are completely different. For example:
Hop Step Layup = LT+Double Tap RS left or right
Euro Step Layup = LT+Throw RS one way then back the other
I don't get all the complaining about the controls and saying they are much easier. Did you forget that in 2K12 all you had to do was hold LT and press up on the right stick?? How is just pressing up on a stick harder than pressing a button twice or moving the stick from one side to the other?? Same goes for the spin patios and dunks. In 2K12 all you had to do was spin the stick. That's not difficult at all and certainly isn't more difficult than pressing a button twice and then pressing another button. Some people just have to find something to complain about I guess.
Currently? At it's peak I recall seeing 90k+ on at any given time, despite the servers being a mess.
Ok STILL 90 K out of 5 million users no matter how you try to word it their are more people offline then online, Online people want to make it seem like ONLINE is the only part of the game....but when people talk about offline they are like "lol you simple *** why play against the cpu when you can play with online with your friends".

Your not takin into account the fact that some people may not be able to afford online....or people who just dont have acess to it and im pretty sure your numbers are FLAWED anyway
Maybe because for one 2k12 sucks *** and two 2k servers are terrible. If 2k online was up to par im sure people would flock to online mode. Its a difference between not going online cause the servers suck and not going online cause you rather play all by yourself.
Don't think Pierce is your enemy FLAW. The amount of random cheesers that pretty much use one of 3 teams online(MIA,OKC,LAL) can sometimes put a damper on playing online. Playing some randoms and friends can be great though and I think team-up mode with a steady frame rate and good teammates is the best online part of 2k to me.
Why do we have to hold b and the left stick and hit x to do those jump shot moves? Was this explained? I only saw the mike wang post and skip to the last page.

In February the game sold 4 million copies, garnet is was less the NBA 2K11 still proves my point their are 90k online users and their at the TIME was 4 million copies sold adding to the fact MY PLAYER just going by social media, some of the people I know and OS most people played offline quick games and my player.

Its the best part to me as well team up is the greatest thing to happen to 2k as far as game modes are concerned. YES CREW STAND I SAID IT

This is my last post on this subject ignorance is bliss.
You said my numbers were flawed I showed you a site that proved my numbers were correct.
Then you said you have to take into account the people that don't pay for XBL, Their is no statistical reference for that but how dose that help you? That just proves my point further that their are more offline then online gamers. But you believe what you want to believe bro.
it does look like the defense is non existent, but the actual control scheme you damn near have to be a rocket scientist to figure out... when is 2k going to come out with simple controls

Substitute A for X, X for Square, Y for Triangle, B for Circle?
Come on man, you knew that.
Also, what good would it do to show Blake Griffin get contacted an fall on his spin dunk attempt? Can we at least play the demo before we yell unstoppable?

Will probably pass on the demo...
chill bros...just concerned since that spin animation looked like it still might freeze the defender and animate him out of the way like in past versions, which would obviously be a bad thing. just going by how it looked visually, which is all i have to go on. making spin animations interruptible is crucial to balancing out the defense and is something that has been needed for years, so it's an especially touchy subject for me.
to those complaining that some moves are "too easy": i don't mind that some moves are simpler. the simpler the better. there's no reason to make something complicated just to make it complicated. as long as 2k provides defensive counters and proper physics to stop those moves, it shouldn't matter how easy they are to perform.
anyway, looking forward to the new demo. controls look sweet.
