Just played my first full game. It is alot different from the demo. It feels slightly faster (I had to turn down my sprint and acc sliders even more than usual), the first touch control much more evident though it might be becuase I was using MLS clubs. I think I might need to turn down the first touch slider. It felt too bouncy everywhere. The players feel and control differently than the demo also. And a big negative that I hope was an anomaly is that I won 4-0 on Legendary. I was using LA vs San Jose. SJ is at the top of the table and that should not have happened, especially since this was a matchday match. Way too easy

Played a lot of matches and let me just say I am not impressed. The first few matches seemed good but the more I played it that old familiar FIFA odor started to creep back in. Players just slide all over pitch and pace is still too fast, players play long passes like they are all Xabi Alonso, the turning of players is just too much I mean it is almost a threat to try and pressure most players because they display agility that should be reserved for certain players. Defender is still severely lacking and just a chore to play, still feels like your are a one man defending unit while your players just stand there, ball watch, and jog to loose balls and passes. I don't want to see a rebound shot in the box and have 5 players watching while two slow jog to the ball.

Also running the flanks cutting in and shooting is still very effective, although finesse seems slightly toned down it is still easy to hit on target. I can see this being popular for players to do this online....again. CPU passes are still too accurate and fouls given are really random and inconsistent. I have gone a string of games of seeing no fouls than the next few games to see some fouls given, maybe some cards for some small silly foul or a trip, and penalty but these are fouls committed by me because I rarely see CPU really trying to be aggressive in trying to win the ball back which is disappointing especially for certain teams. Teams like Dortmund and few other teams can hardly be represented properly even when I adjusted there tactics they still played loose all because of the FIFA game mechanic.

Also I know some teams give off the appearance that they are playing differently but it still seems a bit off, while there is a variety it still feels off with what the CPU attempts with it's tactics. I don't know if I can fully explain it yet as I might need to play a little more.

Rant done... I know it seems like I am being hard on the game but I am not asking for it to be perfect I just would like some of the simple things that make the beautiful game to be represented at least somewhat properly. Now I know that there are sliders to fix some of the issues but how far do I need to go get this game playable to my liking, I have tried some slider tweaks but the difference is really a bare minimum in my eyes. Anyways I guess I will head to bed and try it again tomorrow but for some reason I was more into FIFA 12 than this game, maybe it was that I didn't play FIFA 11 a year before but who knows I will see over the course of the weekend if this game sways and I will also continue to him some more slider tweaking will help.

Thanks for all the impressions, guys! I'm thinking I'll be very happy come Tuesday. I'm in "pre-load" until then....

I just want to complain again about how short the allotted length for saved replays is. Oh, and the uploaded video quality has gotten worse again.

Will provide slider this year but skipping on this in general. Feels bland. when ppl say Fifa has better presentation i sorely disagree. Adboards are generic nuff said

I played a couple games online against a buddy. Slow speed is faster than normal was on the demo, not cool.

It is a mixed bag for me.

At first I thought it was better in a good way but after playing a while last night it seems similar to 12 to me. Initailly in my first match the speed felt slower on Slow with 40 and 42 for my accelartion setings and I actully uped them. That was on Pro. Then I went to WC and I had to turn them back down.

Overall though I would say it is better than the demo but as of right now I am not sure I am getting it. The first touch is more noticable for sure and teams actually do seem to play different but the CPU attack is still very direct IMO and there still is not a lot of build play. Also, still not seeing many fouls.

Transfers are better in CM though whcih is good. Although Tevez and Mascherano did transfer in the 1st window. The audio they do from other games is actually quite cool and they also recap the games after yours via audio which is nice too. Also, it mentions who is playing who that week as well via audio. It is actually very well done but to me the gameplay still feels similar and that is why for me personally it is a let down. Just my opinion mind you. If you liked Fifa 12 you will really enjoy Fifa 13 IMO.

The ESPN integration is there for the EPL for sure and I thought someone said MLS too which makes sense since those are the leagues they show at least here. I started a CM with Roma and there is no ESPN integration so it may only be EPL and MLS.

Ezio, can you give us your impressions when you play Juve? I'm curious to see if they line up in the 3-5-2, how the midfield plays, and if Pirlo dictates the pace.

Andy Carroll is a menace in the air for West Ham. Whereas last year play in the air seemed random, this year guys like Carroll can absolutely dominate a match with a steady diet of crosses.

One thing in career mode that, yet again, is driving me crazy is seeing big players getting sold in the first window. Vidic and Silva to Barcelona. Mascherano to Manchester United. Also a couple of goofy ones, such as Manchester United selling most of their central defenders by offloading Smalling to Sunderland and Phil Jones to Real Madrid. Yes, Real Madrid.

EDIT: I will say, those are the only transfers I saw in the first window that bugged me. Last year it seemed like there were more of the crazy transfers. It appears to be slimmed down, but still a little frustrating.

Realism, check!

the ball is too bouncy. Almost all the short passes are like that. I do like a few small touches they added like the silver MLS championship ball. Also the crowd reacts more appropriately. I had scored a goal and the crowd went crazy but then the offside flag came up and the crowd let out an "awwww"

My first game on legendary where I won 4-0 was probably a freak thing. My games after that played out much better

I am reading these impressions with serious focus. I want to get this game. However, I want to feel challenged by different ways by different teams. I want to see and feel that the other team is being strategic, passing the ball around, and actually playing with purpose apinstead of simply rushing the ball into the box, then trying to score from in there.

I also want defenders that don't just gaze at the ball when I am on defense and simply escort players into the nap box to watch them score.

I want this game so bad but I am both encouraged and worried about what I am reading from these impressions.

Any additional insight would be greatly welcomed. Thanks for all the impressions thus far.
