Birmingham City did a free kick on me that was absolutely incredible.
Had a red card on my goalie the first game.
Unlike last year, it's going to take me a while to get used to the dribbling. It seems like when you execute the dribble this year, it is much more successful.
Physics this year are even better than what they were last year. The offensive zone is real good stuff, especially if you have a team with a cutting edge. Also, first time in years where I've actually had to defend on corners and feel like size matters.
Oh, and if you are a sprint abuser, you are going to get murdered.
City was playing a real counter long ball stuff. My possession was sticking at about 60-40 the whole game.
It's similar to last year, but with some MUCH needed improvements. Definitely my personal Sports GOTY. Very good game, could be playing this well into 2013.
No, I've seen Stoke and Valencia play completely different when it came to trying to get goals. Where Stoke was trying to score off headers, Valencia took most of their shots outside the box.
Teams playing differently is huge for me since I play mostly off line.
Can someone elaborate on the ESPN integration? Is is just the score ticker or is there more? And I know this isnt gameplay related, but does Dempsey have his face in the game? Or any other US players?
Dempsey does not have his face but has a similar face and Micheal Bradley, Landon Donovan, and Cherundelo or however u spell it have real faces which is surprising considering Dempsey is the only one who plays in the EPL on the national teams.
What happened to the boots from the demo. What happened to all the nike half white shoes because most players still wear those and they were in the euros and olympics and now nobody even has them and they were taken out for what reason
For now, I'm HIGHLY impressed. Playing as the Rapids, whose highest rated player is a 68 OVR, you can REALLY feel the difference in skill. Wow. I'm really liking what I see.

nice. Sounds good! Can't wait to give my LA boys a go. Still downloading

First Touch is huge. When I played the demo, those teams, of high rating, were good at settling the passes. A lot of my guys on the Rapids weren't nearly as good, so I didn't have the precise passing. I really had to be careful, and defenders were able to pounce on me a bit because of it.
There were a lot of situations where I just had to play the long ball because I couldn't depend on my defenders or midfielders to settle some of the balls and control it. I just had to make sure I got it out.
Played a game and wow, it plays well so far. I seriously underestimated the effect the new first touch would have.
I decided to create a elite midfielder (86 ovr) and throw him on DC United to get a better grasp on different calibur players feel/perform and wow. He was able to dominate the game but it was more than that. Passes to him were fielded a lot more cleanly if they reached him. His passes carved the other squad up and when I tried the same with others it typically ended badly. Seems like playing with lower level teams will result in more unpredictable outcomes due to their poor first touch.
I'll probably spend most of the remaining night with the skill games to improve.
Going to be a fun weekend but my hygiene and social life may suffer lol
Love the game so far but I was under the impression it had a connected careers (online dynasty with friends) like Madden.
Am I missing it? I want to do a EPL with two buddies.
Plays a fun game on the pitch but I am going to cancel my preorder as I was expecting the ability to play a private franchise with friends. Not sure why EA hasn't implemented an online league yet.
2 games so far (10 minute halves), no cards and just a handful of fouls (and a penalty shot on what I believe was a handball in the box). This always kills FIFA for me, in much the same way that no penalties kills NHL. Going to play some more games, but that's a bad sign.
Other than that, it feels like the CPU is much tougher this year because they're playing better positional D - I'm finding it extremely challenging to break down their defense on professional.
Just started messing around with career mode. Some very initial impressions:
- Being able to play in Champions/Europa in the first year is a welcome change.
- Transfers are improved in so far as interfacing as well as options during negotiations with other clubs.
- Scouting and youth clubs feel the "same" on the surface.
- International teams : This is a HUGE addition. Love it so far. You can spend points to get a national team job offer right away if you should choose to get involved right away.

I have had acceptable results so far with penalties. I played two Mersyside Derbys and was satisfied with penalties. Total was 4 yellow cards and 16 fouls and 1 PK. 15 min half/Legendary with slider adjustments.
Its not perfect but I feel like its "better".
Definitely not saying its not an issue as it seems to vary for everyone.
It is one aspect of the game that seems to be off at times.

Agreed on CPU. Last game, I did see a yellow come out, but not too many penalties in general. That being said, I'm not really sliding much either. I did get a yellow card which could've gone red, because I plowed the guy. Just plowed him. XD

Dempsey wasn't on Spurs when they came to NYC on their summer tour for facial scans. Not sure if they would add him during the season or not, but that would be why his face isn't in the game. Only the clubs with EA agreements have the facial scans from what I know.
