Im impressed and think its an improvement over 12. I will hold out full judgement however until we get some more hard data points pertaining to player growth and youth team mechanics.

Im still worried about these aspects.

1) is face up (aka crab walk) dribbling animation still forced on you when you get close to a defender and if so, has the distance at which this animation automatically kick in been reduced?

2) are refs calling any fouls and carding CPU ?

3) with 6 minute halves (which is default online I think) do you notice stamina having any effect on players - especially if you abuse sprint.
I can tell you this, if you attempt to abuse the sprint, the first touch is gonna kill you. It's almost shocking how the feature has changed the game. As for the crab-walking, it's still there but not as much, at least I don't think so. Next time I get a chance to play, I'm choosing a strict ref to see what happens. Another thing I noticed, offside calls aren't always correct. I got called for an offside where I was clearly onside. Announcers mentioned it and everything....that was nice.

This game is amazing!! The demo was like 10% of what the retail is. The ESPN presentation is included and the game runs a lot more smooth...it's a wrap for PES lol

I agree. The first touch mechanics are wonderful. Its very apparent to me during goal kicks. Those used to be an either or issue. Either your team or the opposing team would win the head ball and clearly gain possession. Now its feels much more contested and getting a head on the ball first doesnt grant possession 100% of the time.

The game feels great. Some tweaking to sliders and this game is going to be gold.

I hope and pray that some of the progression issues are taken care off in career mode. If they are...look out. Having the national teams involved in career mode as well, oh yea! I could see myself spending a lot of time lost inside my career mode saves.

Another thing. I have seen a decent number of penalties so far.

Yep. Its weird, the retail game feels nothing like the demo, in a good way.

Ok... I am impressed. Backline defending is still suspect at times but... something has happened we have never seen in a FIFA game until now. First game I start up against Stoke with Chelsea. 9 minute halves, Legendary, and slow. All game long Stoke play the long ball. Tons of crosses in the box and just a whole lot of long balls. I almost didn't believe what I was seeing. I was up 1-0 and in the 70th minute Stoke start pressing like there's no tomorrow. I never adjusted and in the 90th minute paid the price and game ends 1-1. You never seen that kind of pressure on the ball before by the AI. It grabbed me by surprise and I paid the price.

On to playing more but seeing Stoke all game just play the long ball and defend up until the end was just amazing.

One touch football is indeed fantastic and was a little hard to see in the demo but watching it here it truly is a game changer.

On to playing more.

This is the first game I've played in a long time after playing the demo in which I could tell there was a noticeable difference. I was forcing myself to like the demo whereas I really enjoyed the two full games I have played thus far.

There seems to be a more organic experience from the demo, plays slower, and I have had some exciting scorinig chances. The demo was more of a fit of frustration.

Presentation and atmosphere is top notch. Love the ESPN integration.

Finally got the game up doing an Arsenal vs Stoke match. I must say this the pre game presentation is great best I have seen in any footy game. I will be back with more after I string together a few games.

Would anyone be able to do a huge favor and post the list of 4 star and 4.5 star teams in FIFA 13?

Would be greatly appreciated!!

How do you create your virtual pro and play pro ranked matches? I don't see it anywhere in the menus.

Good game. Teams play different. AI shows great situation awareness. When the game is coming to an end and they need to score or they need to stop you from scoring to tie them, they hammer down pretty hard. Commentary is very good as well. I like how they tell the back story of clubs and club owners, but yet still focus on the game at hand while they are talking about the back story.

218 minutes left, taking a long time. Must be a ton of people downloading. Looking forward to seeing what has changed from the demo to the retail version. Going to get some games in and then will post what I think about it.

Love the game so far but I was under the impression it had a connected careers (online dynasty with friends) like Madden.

Am I missing it? I want to do a EPL with two buddies.

Nevermind, I found out that you have to go to pro clubs to create your virtual pro.

Can someone elaborate on the ESPN integration? Is is just the score ticker or is there more? And I know this isnt gameplay related, but does Dempsey have his face in the game? Or any other US players?

Do teams play differently?

Do my CPU teammates defend assertively?

Do teams just come up and try to score in the box?

# 59 Altimus @ 09/21/12 11:08 PM
Something new... playing Valencia they did short corners twice and ran something off the training ground. I was like...

For now I can say yes.

Defending is questionable...

No, I've seen Stoke and Valencia play completely different when it came to trying to get goals. Where Stoke was trying to score off headers, Valencia took most of their shots outside the box.
