2K Sports will be live streaming a full game of NBA 2K13 on Wednesday, September 19th at 5:00 PM EST. Check out the Oklahoma City Thunder (controlled by Ronnie2K) against the Miami Heat (controlled by LD2K). Here is the link to the live stream.
Game looks pretty good to me. What do you feel has took a step back?
its something about how they make the colors look kinda washed out. okc should have like a darker jersey like that kd screenshot when he palming the ball that looked spot on. and i the heat's arena should be lighter while a place like detroit or chicago should be darker
Haven't been reading but no love for how quick picks come?
Also, Love the contact under the rim...especially on a couple of the putbacks...unguardable in 2k12
The entire pick and roll game seemed much improved the screen set the screens more fluidly and had more of an impact on the defender while the defender and the the guy hedging seemed to have more freedom to gamble or player more straight up. There were so many different interactions on the screens!
I figured I'd come here and see a hate/nitpick-fest about something. It's pretty cool to see respectful criticism mixed in the praise. It's constructive. What's wrong with you guys? . Most of which covered the issues I had. So, I guess I have nothing to add except for the fact that I would be yelling and screaming while playing that game. It was fun to watch just from a spectator standpoint...
And I HATE that they did Heat/Thunder. Why not Bulls/Clippers to show off the other two cover guys? Plus I hate LaDouche.

Ok more like art than graphics. I'd still wait for the demo to be sure about the colours. For different lightning for different arenas, well that would be a sick addition for 2K14 I guess. Lightning in general is an area where 2K can improve a lot.
Guys who argue over sweat are annoying . Players aren't gonna start sweating alot go to the bench after a timeout and come out sweaty again . No 1 in the NBA sweats in the first quarter and never whipes themselves again all game . C'mon now sweat don't mean anything
in the 4th qtr...the and 1 replay that Harden got OMG!!! and the reaction he had was sick!!!
I've gotten a chance to replay the live stream a few times and it truly was fascinating to see. I think 2k has taken great strides to make this game better. I love the additions in the game and the physics is on point. The dribbling is mind blowing. Luckily for us, we have 5 more days till demo drops.

You ever seen Kevin Garnett. that dude sweat permanently
Kobe sweats like crazy after 5 minutes in the first quarter. Harden, Wade sweat ton too. And then there is guys like Durant that never ever sweat at all.
That got me pretty excited, but the best parts were the interviews afterward. All the guys seemed really stoked about the gameplay, AI improvements, and overall feel of the game. And, ultimately, that's what is going to make the game go from good to great. I'm really excited to get my hands on the control and feel it out. If it's fun just to play, the game will have so much longevity.
I am also interested to play all the teams and check out how each player feels. From the video, I really got a sense of players moving and reacting differently from each other much like they do in real life. Harden really stood out to me cause his dribble and movements seemed very much like he plays, favoring the left and everything. But, I got a cool vibe from several other players too (Bosh, LeBron, Westbrook's dunks, etc all seemed to resemble their true selves).
The game looks very solid and a big improvement over 2k12 in my view. In general I am pretty happy with the gameplay showed, but to nick pick a little bit, I don’t like the over the shoulders lob passes (neither the quantity nor the quality) that’s probably the only thing that makes me remember I am watching a video game and not real NBA game footage. The other thing I don’t like is the (too high) shooting percentages, but I guess that is easy to correct if we up the difficulty and tweak the sliders accordingly…
Things I will be checking in the demo (because I suspect we could find exploits there):
- Run and Gun (It seems it will be again a cheaper way to find good looks and abuse stars without the need of playing good fundamental basketball).
- Bounce Passes (Considering what I have seen so far, they seems to be too effective and difficult to counter, can they be defended properly?).
- Up and Unders (last year this was way too effective either, and the worst thing, it could be performed efficiently by anyone whether they had post proficiency or not, in this video the defender beat to the fakes most of the time, but anyway, I didn’t see yet anything clearly suggesting they are more balanced now).
Quote L2DK: "The level of realism in this game is just crazy" Then please tell me why the Oklahoma City Thunder still wear white socks/shoes on the road for the third straight year in this game? I thought it's about authenticity and realism? I don't wanna troll here, I'm plain serious...
Love you idea about turbo and dunking, but i wouldnt want it to an automatic missed dunk maybe just a decrease in success.
I cant wait for the demo to learn the new iso control and get used to how the shot stick will function now.
Yeah I guess that is what I mean they could have decreased the success rate when depleted or increased the effect of dunk in traffic. If it becomes an issue we will have to adjust our game
One thing i noticed is when somebody's taking it to the basket (either lay-ups or dunks) is that they don't get sucked into a 2-player animation anymore which is really nice to see.
Also those bounce passes ld2k let fly look really sweet. Those contact shots under the basket are a thing of beauty too. When Lebron spun baseline and made a lay up against collison and collisson went down
And of course the highlight was the westbrook spin move and the harden and-1 play with the reaction. Really nice! On ball d looked tighter than what I've seen from the other vids too, though I'm not sure if it was a result of a conscious effort by both guys to not force it too much. Still, it looked good though.
Blocks looked more natural (cuz there were no armpit blocks), but looked a bit stiff. And when going up for rebounds sometimes guys were too floaty. I can live with those though.

I know right? From what I can see, Kevin Durant's mole on his right ear is missing too. The level of realism in this game can be sooooo much better. :banghead:
